  1. I saw on Reddit that it was @MinusWorlds who won this. They don’t seem to believe that he’s a real person lol.
  2. Since you’ve been gone is some pretty standard ass classic rock fare. Gave it a 6. Rainbow in the Dark got a 9 from me and I had to push down the urge to give it a 10 based on the description. It‘s awesome and among my favorite Dio songs but not the favorite. Ahhhhhh. Fuck it. I’m bumping that shit up. I don’t need no stinking rules. I do what I want! 10.
  3. It was a childhood game for me so I’ve played a lot of it. I kind of like grinding so that aspect was always fine with me. I find the game really relaxing with great atmosphere. Gets my imagination really going. I liked Hell‘s Angels too. Really can’t go wrong with anything he’s written. His writing style was so engaging and his political insights were top notch. It’s too bad he basically gets written off as drug guy because of Fear and Loathing. Generation Swine is a compilation of short articles from throughout the 80s and does a great job sucking you in to the political culture from the era. There’s a story in there about catching a fox on his farm and basically torturing it that he got in trouble for writing for obvious reasons — his response? It was an allegory about Pat Buchanan, duh Haven‘t read any Bukowski. I really should one of these days.
  4. This Matzah Ball soup is delicious! What’s your secret? ….
  5. I’ve always thought someone should start a cannibal themed restaurant. Not me, but someone. Also, I forgot all about this but last fall we spent a long weekend in downtown Chicago and went to breakfast around the corner from the hotel at Venteux Brasserie one morning (lured in by the bottomless Mimosas). We pretty quickly realized that we were having breakfast next to Mark Harmon
  6. I’m definitely guilty of smacking the BIN button before I double check the condition.
  7. Futurama is the best and there were a handful of these tear jerkers. The one about Fry‘s brother gets me every time too.
  8. Drove to Pittsburgh to catch this one. Elvenking/Alestorm Forgot to get an Alestorm pic but I really wasn’t there to see shitty Korpiklaani. I‘ve been waiting like 25 years to see Elvenking. It was awesome and they got an hour set. Also saw some crowdsurfer get dropped on his head. I thought that dude was dead. Remember kids, DO NOT crowd surf in an area of the crowd filled with dungeons & dragons guys.
  9. Team festers quest checking in. Love that game. Never beat it though.
  10. It’s been a slow trim for years now. Working through some PS2 stuff these days (at great prices! ) in my FS thread. I’m avoiding the eBay selling experience these days so it’s slow going. Collecting level is low right now so I’m mostly just browsing waiting for a smack you in the face deal. My volume days are over. Probably. Targeting a 2038 return.
  11. I’m cheap and I’m never going to spend $500 on the system. These FFVII games are the only things I’m aware of on the system that makes me really want one. Maybe I’m missing some revolutionary stuff but it doesn’t seem like it. I feel like I would’ve heard about that around here at some point. When the prices come down because everyone is ready to move on that’ll be my moment.
  12. Im definitely going to check it out after the PlayStation 6 comes out. I really enjoyed remake. Had to google this to see if it was the sequel or not lol.
  13. Yeah I mean it seems like a lot of money but that stuff is so many orders of magnitude beyond my means that it’s just a side show to me. It’s basically just gawking at rich fuckers playing with their toys.
  14. That was my thought. Why would it start out as passion? The first thing I bought when I discovered I could buy old Nintendo tapes on eBay was a copy of Dragon Warrior 2. I’d casually looked for it whenever I encountered nes games for the past more than a decade. It wasn’t a passion. It was a dipping of toes. The thing that drew me to NA was trying to find out how much the games I had were worth. It grew into passion, and experience, and knowledge with time and “nurturing“. It is a serious mistake for this community to begrudge new people their ignorance. Though let’s be honest, there are plenty of people here who would be more than happy to lay into someone giving a rookie an undeserved hard time. That being said, some good natured shit talking is fine and good for bonding or something.
  15. It’s not even the value really. 100k for a very nice sealed copy of that big of a name? Sure, why not. As a mostly NES collector I’m just opining bygone days when NES discussion was about something other than how much cash sealed collectors are throwing around or which print run something is. That noob thread got me reminiscing. Remember how dramatic and exciting the Atwood saga was?
  16. I miss when conversations about NES games were about NWCs and hidden gems and whether Samson or Dino peak are actually rarer.
  17. Oh don’t be so cantankerous. You were a new guy once too you know. When someone is new they are going to have no idea where to look or what is a reliable source of information. You also have to take into account that someone with no background in game collecting is not going to even consider that their question or topic is going to have already been discussed into the ground.
  18. Glovesy is an agent of the CCP?
  19. I enjoyed it but I liked the bits from Da Ali G show more (I preferred the Ali G bits to Borat as well). The mainstream success of this film killed off the character though.
  20. Ahh skimmed that bit. Sorry. If I’m honest I’m going to clown on him later too lol.
  21. It‘s not going to be long term for everyone and I don’t feel like it has to be. I get into stuff all the time where I get super obsessed, burn out, and move on. I’m also not going hold increasing prices against some rando day collector. Am I going to bond with this guy? Probably not. But I’m also not going to chase him away.
