  1. No worries here, one of the main argument to starts the tournament later is to have it done between US Thanksgiving and the Xmas Holidays. Giving that it will most probably have 3 rounds, the tournament would start on 26 of November and ends by the 17 of December. Edit : Okay, I see now that Bea actually proposed January 2024 in the OP, but I'd say it is highly unlikely we do that for the sake of keeping things in 2023. If she's still overwhelmed in late November, I'll naturally step in to starts things off for everyone to have this done and finished before the Xmas Holidays.
  2. Thanks for clarifying guys, as I know pretty much nothing about Facebook marketplace.
  3. The Gotcha is a 5 screws, hence why he's asking for so much on it. What's very strange is that it has to be the prices of someone that knows very well what he has for sale, but very loosely presented as 'Nes Tapes'.
  4. For sure Bea, gotta take care of those Street Fighter Champion wrists of yours!
  5. To put things in perspective, I am quite sure that EOTN's 2013 score was BS, so removing it kind of balance a little better with the 2016 standing.
  6. For the sake of not burdening you with a turtle hopping technique contest, we're going to forbid continuous turtle hopping, so what is shown in the video posted by link would be forbidden. You can use a turtle or beetle to make extra points throughout your run as you wish while advancing in the level (even if you actually hop on a same turtle twice or thrice), but you can't take a single turtle in order to hop on it numerous times while killing the clock. @BeaIank can you second me on this please?
  7. You're right, I fixed the dates accordingly. Thanks for pointing it out!
  8. It was about time we see your ass around here Jimbo, where you've been all that time? Also, is it too late to ask you to be my Valentine?
  9. For those having anxiety for not scoring 10 out of 10, remember that you can't recognize something that you never saw before. - A gamer proud of his 4/10 score
  10. Man, you're bringing me back some childhood memories here, that show used to play on Teletoon when I was young (watched it dubbed in French then). I never thought about looking for it on youtube, but now I might just for the nostalgia kick.
  11. A man meets a woman on the golf course and both get to please each others, but the man is serious about taking it slowly between them. So, everyday for a week, they both get along on the golf course, having a wonderful time golfing and getting to know each other. After a week, the man accepts her invitation to come at her place for dinner, and she prepares him the most delightful meal he ever ate, but, he still doesn't succumb to her charms, insisting on letting things evolve naturally between them. So for another week, they play golf every day, and every evening she treats him with the most satisfying of meals. At the end of the week, he finally let her kiss him, and you know for sure that she is the most passionate kisser any man would ever dream of. After that kiss, the man can't no longer restrain his desires, and he tells her that he's ready to follow her to the bedroom to consume their urging love. The lady then hesitates, she has something important to reveal: ''darling, before we go to bed together, I must tell you that... I'm a man''. The guy pauses, and then goes : ''What? You're a man, and you played from the fucking RED TEES?'
  12. This is one, fine feature, I can enjoy on my PC! Thanks for that, Casual Gloves!
  13. And I thought this would be about naming names. Just give us the names Corey!
  14. Indeed, customs officials do this for a purpose and it is for the greater good of all in a sense, that's a fair acknowledgement of their duties and responsibilities to keep what's going through borders in check. But the need of improvement is absolutely needed to ensure the protection of individual properties. It is true that these incidents are quite scarce, it happens in much less than 1% of the cases for sure. But still, it only takes one really bad incident to prove the process flawed. I'm ready to understand that their procedures will irremediably lead to some valuable properties to be 'destroyed' or dramatically devalued, but if it is how it must work, damn, they should be held accountable of the damages and be legally responsible to compensate the party at loss through some kind of ruled procedures. The problem, as I see it right now, is that it seems you have absolutely no individual protection against customs officials ruining your property going through borders. This is silly, at least from an individual's rights point of view.
  15. I think it all comes down to shipping insurance from where we stand legally right now, but I must admit that I never went to the end of the question whenever it happened to me or my buyers in the past. And even with insurance it would be a total pain to assess the correct value to such thing as sealed video games. It would be good to know for sure if there's anything to cover the lost or something. It happens very rarely, but it does happen. The truth is that if a custom official knows the potential value of something, they would handle it accordingly. If a customs official knows how much more a sealed video game can be worth vs opened, then they would reasonably not open it to inspect it. But as we stand right now, it is not common knowledge and this is why it happens. Nobody's going to rip off a Picasso painting to see if there's drug hidden in it, even if there is actually drugs hidden in it. Not that sealed games are anywhere on par with fine arts culturally and value wise, but you get what I mean.
  16. That's actually a big problem, customs shouldn't have the rights to ruin the value of a collectible of a private citizen. If they need to check the inside of sealed video games as prevention of drug smuggling or whatever, then they should use X-rays equipment and be done with that. Let's not be delusional, liking sealed games or not, customs officials ruining private properties' value aren't saving the world from druglords.

We'll all see you next year with a fresh lineup of Nes games to compete in! Never forget that YOU GUYS ROCK!
  18. Developer > Publisher, no? For childhood sake, I would have to say RARE (coin it). As an older douchehead, I'd like to give Koei a gigantic thump up for what they did during the NES period, even if they're PC based games.
  19. The bigger problem is that you can't really forbid it as anyone can trigger it by mistake just by being fully powered up and firing casually enemies. Hence why allowing it in a 1 loop contest makes it interesting. Of course, the best way to exploit it is to try to trigger it on the bosses as glitch can multiply by 2x-3x (4x?) the bosses points if their last hit is triggered by many of your projectiles. So taking the risk of defeating a boss at very close range was the best strategy to score most points in this contest.

  21. Bea is definitely stretching the definition of what a puzzle game is here, hahaha! But, to her defense, there's some puzzle elements in Q bert, especially when the blocks start to change every time you step on them, and then when a third color is introduce to the whole. Still more an arcade game, but we can accept it as puzzle oriented for sure. Also, the arcade genre is the most historically based, and a lot of the game mechanics and criteria we easily recognize in the other genres can actually be found in a lot of arcade games. They're almost always arcade + 'insert another genre' games , theoretically speaking. And it could have been even more weird as she initially picked up Popeye as a puzzle game for the first round, lol!
  22. I copy/pasted it in the OP as a temporary solution! Bea will most likely have a better looking standing done tomorrow or soon enough.
