  1. If someone were to fake a game it would be easier to get away with it on a cheap game IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some fake SMB/Duck Hunts out in the wild.
  2. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this. I will open a game not only to see if it's real but to clean it as well.
  3. This thread reminds me of when I would eat frozen pizza at my friends house because he loved it even though it wasn't that good. I believe it was called Chompin' and came in a yellow box? I can't seem to find any info about it online.
  4. I never understood how it got perfect 10's across the board. It was basically the same thing but now with Yoshi and a few new abilities. It's still a good game don't get me wrong but it didn't have the magic and lasting appeal of the first.
  5. How would you open a sticker sealed NES game if given the opportunity? Would you try to open it from one end and risk damaging the box or would you cut down the center of it with a razor blade?
  6. Yeah, that's a good one. Exactly, DKC 3 doesn't get the love that 1 and 2 get. I think one of the reasons why was because it came out very late the system's life and after the N64. Some people will even say it's not good. Sure it played it safe and is basically DKC 2.5 but it's still a damn good game. I love all three games equally and is probably why it's my favorite trilogy.
  7. They make protectors that are a little bit taller and wider but the standard size fits perfectly. Especially if the shrinkwrap is still on the box which makes things a little tighter. My only complaint is that they scratch up pretty easy from normal shelf wear. So you need a protector for your protector.
  8. White vinegar is your friend when it comes to battery corrosion.
  9. I buy sealed ps1 games that no one wants and I use those as replacements. That's how picky I am. The ones that you can buy online feel cheap and are not the same. Good enough for the average person but for a collector? No thanks.
  10. The Wiimotes are known to still drain batteries when not in use. That explains why they never seem to last. Rechargeable batteries or the official Nintendo rechargeable battery pack is the way to go.
  11. I believe David Wise actually did that track. He did a few tracks for the game before Eveline took over.
  12. I assume you mean Sub Map Shuffle or the actual overworld theme Northern Kremisphere? The whole soundtrack is memorable to me. Eveline did a great job and it really sets the mood and atmosphere of the game.
  13. I've been meaning to get back to unboxing sealed NES games myself.
  14. I kind of miss demo discs. Sure there is no need for them anymore but they are physical items that you can hang onto and display. I believe some of them are actually expensive to.
  15. So for the people who have played it, what is your favorite track in the SNES version DKC 3 or what track do you feel is the most popular? I think one of the reasons why people feel it's the weakest is there is no particular track in the game that it's widely known for. DKC is known for Aquatic Ambience and DKC 2 is known for Stickerbush Symphony but DKC 3 doesn't have anything that really stands out. I still love the game though. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this.
  16. Very lucky. I think most of us had to get rid of it when getting a new system.
  17. It can be hard to tell since Nintendo doesn't seal their boxes. Obviously if the plastic baggies look untouched and it has everything, there is a good chance it may be new or at least hardly played.
  18. Found a NES with an old address sticker on it. 1112 east 3rd north tooele utah 84074 What's weird is the address doesn't seem to exist anymore.
  19. What would that even grade I wonder? Dented corners, light creases, dirty shrinkwrap. I'm guessing a 7.5?
  20. I think having the hangtab adds more value IMO. Removing it is like removing the hangtabs off of Genesis cases. I don't mind having the original price tag. It's part of history but if it looks bad and is half torn up, then yeah I would remove it.
