  1. What a great way to display consoles! Do you keep them hooked-up like that, too? Or do you have a different method for playing? [T-Pac]

That's pretty funny to hear, considering my YouTube experience has been the complete opposite! I got into early-2000s YouTube through sketch-comedy and indie animation videos, which were always just a few minutes each. But now my recommendations feed is full of hour-long documentaries and retrospectives and stuff, so it feels like all the short-form content is gone (except for "YouTube Shorts", which I actively avoid because I hate the format - but I'll save that rant for some other time haha). [T-Pac]
  3. That's the plan - but I know I can't keep this pace forever, so we'll see... And to be fair - my backlog isn't filled with thousand-hour games and I'm a dirty cheater anyway, so that helps. (Unless you consider that it can take, like, 6+ hours to make a T-Pac Arcade episode AFTER I've already finished a game - so I guess it evens out haha). [T-Pac]
  4. Looks like a prime opportunity to swap "oral book reports" for "oral game reports". [T-Pac]
  5. A family man through and through - I would've guessed as much! [T-Pac]
  6. Bad taste makes for good company, I guess. My people are here on VGS haha. [T-Pac]

Does anyone have thoughts on the length of these videos? I feel like the sweet spot is around 4 minutes, and I rambled way too long on this last one. I don't like to arbitrarily cut down my thoughts on a game for length, but I don't want things to drag on and get too boring, either. [T-Pac]

Section Z [Nintendo Entertainment System - 1987] A nonlinear game that I actually like! So glad I finally played through this one. [T-Pac]
  10. The other day, I was randomly thinking about how I can't pinpoint one specific "best day of my life". (Lots of great moments, but nothing that immediately stands above the rest.) But I assume a lot of people can, and I'd love to hear about it. So what's been the best day of your life (at least so far)? [T-Pac]
  11. Probably my favorite Mario game (even if I'm really bad at using the cape...) [T-Pac]
  12. Whoa whoa whoa - you saw Clown Core live!!!??? Never would've imagined finding someone else on this forum who's into their music haha. [T-Pac]
  13. That sounds like a cool idea, but I'm not so sure the skill level discrepancy between the two of us would be ... uh ... tolerable haha. [T-Pac]
  14. I ... still don't get it... Is that "card market" thread referencing a meme that already existed, or did you take that thread and turn it into a meme??? I don't know why I care so much. I just ... gotta know, y'know? [T-Pac]
  15. Slight tangent ... Where did the "It looks like the (insert game) market has exploded!" thing come from? I kept seeing that same phrase posted here over and over, and I was rolling my eyes at it until I realized it's probably some meme that I'm just not savvy to haha. [T-Pac]
  16. I remember this section in Pokemon (Gold?) that was like a puzzle where you had to figure out how to slide across ice into stationary boulders in order to get to the other side of a cave. It wasn't a separate "mini-game" or anything, but it was a really fun departure from the standard RPG gameplay everywhere else. [T-Pac]
  17. Same here. The only time I've ever played a Co-Op shoot-em-up was Life Force [NES] with my college roommate once, but I'd love to try 2-player stuff like Raiden or Twinbee someday. [T-Pac] Good call - this is my "go-to" co-op game. It's fun and forgiving and approachable for almost anyone. (Well, at least the NES port is until the later levels). [T-Pac]

Incredible Crash Dummies [Nintendo Entertainment System - 1993] I actually had one of the Crash Dummies toys as a kid when they tried to bring the brand back to life, and I always thought the concept was pretty neat. [T-Pac]
  20. I've never even seen a full episode of the Simpsons (I dunno - the show always just rubbed me the wrong way...), but I feel like I know a ton of the jokes just from VGS's obsession with Simpsons memes haha. [T-Pac]
  21. What a great project - and an even better video! I had to show this to my family just because it was so neat, and the modder was so funny that they even got a kick out of the technical stuff that they didn't otherwise understand. [T-Pac]
  22. Childhood passccode sheets and everything ... niiiiice. [T-Pac] Sick! Can we get a list of this stuff? I'm not familiar with all of it, and I'm interested to know what each item is and why it's your favorite. [T-Pac]
  23. Exactly! Popular games are popular for a reason, and the broad familiarity that comes with that territory means they'll always be topping brackets like this. Which may seem boring to people who are deep into a system's library - but it's a great quality cue for someone just diving in... I mean, I started exploring the Genesis with "Top 10" lists, and recommendations for stuff like Shinobi III certainly didn't steer me wrong haha. [T-Pac]
  24. Skateboarding: I like to skateboard, but I'm getting a bit too old for the impact these days. I'll occasionally watch Street League, but I don't like watching the X-Games or anything. I played a lot of EA's Skate It [DS] growing up, but I'm not a fan of skateboarding games in general. Running: I love jogging, but not racing. Watching marathons and Olympic track and stuff just makes me feel bad about myself, so I avoid it haha. A distance-running video game sounds like an awful idea, but then again - open world games these days seem vast enough to be virtual jogging simulators for the most part anyway... Golf: I'm not coordinated enough for real-life golf, and I don't go out of my way to watch it, either. But I sure do love me some vidya' game golfin'. Everything Else: No thanks. On all accounts. Star Parodier [NEC PC Engine CD - 1992] This was my favorite game on the Turbografx-16 Mini, and I finally got myself a physical copy last week - so I took a detour from my 2024 Backlog to cover it. Best 16-bit cute-em-up ever... [T-Pac]
