  1. Man, I thought that “Tonight, Tonight” music video was so cool. Great band and body of work. 8/10. Related: I was also a big fan of Auf der Maur‘s debut album.
  2. Had their first CD back in the day. I liked it. The rock/alternative band I really liked during this time was LĪVE
  3. Oh nice. That’s similar to my setup, except I’ve got a turntable where the switch box is. Looking good!
  4. I’m going to throw headphones out there. With that tight setup, I’m not sure where your speakers are going to go. If they are on the ground, that might make for a awkward sound situation if you are scooted up close to the monitor. A nice set of vintage or retro styled headphones could add both nostalgia and increased game playing enjoyment.
  5. You nailed it. Major transition for sure!

    PS5

Saw somewhere it might be able to play PS4 games also.
  7. Master System version of Double Dragon is co-op
  8. Not games, but I once bought like 20 CDs from a music store because they were on clearance for a dollar. It was a regional band that I liked. Just passed them out to friends now and then. I probably still have one or two somewhere.
  9. I've not. Are they expensive? I'd have to pick em up to play Dang. Prices are stupid right now. I didn’t realize. Yes, I still recommend the Alundra games. Classic RPG goodness.
  10. Have you played the Alundra games? That is my recommendation.
  11. NES Cart Database is an excellent resource for referencing parts.
  12. Looks like I’ve got a date with Shantae in 2-4 months!
  13. Yep. My brother’s wealthy friend had all the pricy game systems. We rented a Neo Geo from the local grocery store for someone’s birthday. It was a big deal.
  14. DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, TMNT II
  15. For me and my brother it was a sampler disc that had PaRappa the Rapper. Love that game! What demo/sampler disc helped shape your gaming?
  16. Nice items! For what it’s worth, Terranigma was officially released in English as well. I have a copy in English that came from Italy. PAL format.
  17. Great game and a satisfying one to beat. Congrats! Had a cartridge since childhood and played through it again several years ago with my brother. Definite replay value.
  18. It’s funny that some games are “peak nostalgia” when played with a different soundtrack. Example: My brother and I used to turn the soundtrack off for Top Gear and listen to our Ace of Base tape (purchased at K-Mart) via boom box instead.
  19. Idk how tag people, but Reed I really enjoy your write ups. Another game that kinda fits this is Solar Jetman. Rare FTW
  20. My wife likes to read. Our den includes my CRT and gaming setup. I enjoy playing while she reads, but keep the sound low for most titles. What are games that you enjoy that can be played either low or no sound?
  21. This has probably been available for a while. Just saw it on the app. Streaming on smart TVs or online (with ads). Browser link: https://tubitv.com/movies/472705/double_dragon?start=true Double Dragon film on IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106761/
  22. Trackable, insured mail to Japan has not been an issue for me personally. Shipping anything to anywhere carries some measure of risk. If the price is right, go for it.
  23. Don’t need a long break to create this dilemma. Just have a few glasses of whiskey while playing.
