  1. Mario 3 is my obvious answer. A weird glitch in my gaming history where I’ve fully completed Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario DS, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, yet I’ve never played Mario 3! Donkey Kong trilogy on the SNES, a few of the Sonics on the Megadrive, a few of the Crash Bandicoot games on the PS1, and the Panzer Dragoon trilogy on the Saturn, I would also love to play in proper.

    Cycling

Thanks for the tip! I’ve done biking before up to around 35 miles total, with a group of friends. Those were some leisure rides around the beach side. I had stopped doing any physical exercise for 2 years during the pandemic and only got back to fitness training for the last 2 years, but mainly with tennis and jogging. The aim is to play some other sports including getting back to bike riding, just finding my balance with fitness and fun.

I’m turning into a sport freak of late. Very keen on my tennis currently but ultimately I just want to keep getting fitter whenever possible. So a long marathon run or a long bike ride is part of future planning. Good to see fellow members here keen on looking after their bodies. I mean, games are good but the body is pretty important too!
  4. The other possibility of a VGA “Qualified” is that all components are received with all the original pamphlets and such, and with all appearing to be unused with no signs of wear/tampering.
  5. This was the game that converted me from being a die hard Sega fan to a general 16-bit lover. Also, the game back then that convinced me Sonic wasn’t the best platformer in the early 90s. This was. It’s an easy game to get into and probably a little easy to get to the end. The true challenge is to explore all its secrets which adds a ton of replay value.
  6. Digital collecting isn’t the same as physical collecting though. The amount of gamers wanting to buy OG Xbox 360 with already downloaded games would be nowhere near the amount of collectors willing to pay premium prices for certain physical copies. The only thing I can think of otherwise, is if you have won or purchase some rare items for a downloaded game, that very few others own, then that may be sought after in the future.
  7. Congrats on finding your personal grail! Personally, I think it’s very unfortunate that there’s a lot of black and white thinking going on, particularly with the graded scene. People are lumped into 2 groups: 1. Full support of graded games and crazy price hikes. 2. Envious of graded collectors and in denial. I think there should be a few other factions, but myself, I don’t care what prices go up to as long as there is genuine organic growth going on. This is what makes the collecting scene more healthy and thrive. Collectors like yourself, who are willing to spend big, and coming to a game forum to talk like a collector is what makes me feel much more comfortable with the market. Whereas “collectors” who bid ridiculous exponential prices, then going on YouTube to predict the price will double soon, is what makes me cringe hard.
  8. It’s all a matter of perspective. They all share the same gameplay mechanic, stage format, all rolled into a Disney themed landscape. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that they’re spiritually the same games, despite different sprites and enemies.
  9. From what I can recall all the Castle of Illusion games came out around a similar time be it on Megadrive/Genesis, MS or GG. The 16-bit version had obviously the better graphics/sounds and more stuff thrown in, with the MS/GG versions being a more simplified version of the 16-bit iteration. All were great, but the Megadrive/Genesis version was hands down the best version as it brought a much more atmospheric animated experience than the others.
  10. One of my favorite Megadrive games. This was one of the early release titles and even though I can’t remember much of its levels, I do recall having a blast with the game, had good graphics for its time and gameplay was balanced. A must play for the platform loving fanatics.
  11. I’m trying to picture a ceiling with carts stacked on the ceiling.. were the carts glued onto the ceiling?
  12. Megadrive: - Golden Axe franchise - Gunstar Heroes - Contra Hard Corps SNES - Contra 3 - Mystical Ninja - Final Fight 2 and 3 Multiplatform - Bubble Bobble
  13. @RH, @Rhuno First I’ve heard of Banana Ball and Beer League. Had to look those up!
  14. I was a skinny kid up until 20 years of age, and was never really into sports back then, both in real life as well as in video games. From the age of 20, I set about changing my mindset, trying to build on some size and fitness with badminton, tennis and Aussie rules football. Due to my late entry with sports, I never really aimed to be elite at anything and fun and fitness was more the aim. Fast forward to the years of the Covid pandemic and I stopped playing sports altogether for the first 2 years of that fear and isolation period. I suffered some burnout periods back then and I decided to start playing tennis again in the last 2 years. Currently, I’ve cut back on my work hours and focusing much more on health and fitness, and aiming to perhaps play some amateur league tennis for fun later this year. In the past 6 months I’ve been doing 3-hour sessions (mainly playing doubles) of tennis 3-4 times per week. Games-wise, I’ve never really been a fan of sports video games. I’ve touched Madden games (as a collector) at least 1000 times over the years and I’ve never even played it once! Most fun I’ve had with sports games were Wii Sports 1 and 2, and NBA Jam. Usually those are only played at parties with others around, as I usually prefer other genres when by myself.
  15. This topic is about sports gaming. Some questions to kick start the cranial matter: Do you like real life sports? Or do you prefer to sit comfortably on the couch/sofa and let your fingers do all your sporting feats through a controller? What kind of sports are you into? Are you sports phobic (aka lazy ass)? What kind of sports games do you recommend? ️️⛷🏎⛸️
  16. Not sure why you’re arguing like the seller sounds like a swell guy? Though I do I understand to some extent where you’re coming from. The issue is with the SMS game cases is that there are small crevices that dust or very small insects can enter if left in storage for a long time. If the game cases have cracks then that increases the chance of unwanted entries. So I wasn’t majorly angry with the bug found inside a common game, but more so the response I got from seller. Bearing also in mind that I’m not usually the type to bad mouth sellers.
  17. Mystical Ninja on the SNES had some fun mini-games like whack-a-mole and snake. It also had a playable level of gradius in an arcade arena. Shenmue had some Sega arcade games to play, in an arcade arena. I’ve never got to this point, but read about them on magazines.

But now I have the urge to seek this game!
  19. I would like to retract this comment. Totally forgot about April Fool’s! Well done @Estil you prankster, you!
  20. I think this situation happens a lot more than we think. Particularly if the interest is a highly niche market like the rare items, you are bound to know a fair few of the similar types of collectors. Unfortunately, if you’re chasing after the same thing and they pop up once every few years, more “backdooring” is likely to occur than the common variety. Greed is certainly a factor, but also the drive to complete a set can make some people do funny things.
  21. Why would you assume A? He’s a definite collector, selling all top-tier CIB items. What made it even more sour was that I had bought a game from that ass prior to purchasing the bundle. First transaction went smooth. Second transaction I got insulted for calling out the games were in poorer condition than as described, dead bug or otherwise! Btw, he didn’t give me a “good deal”. He just jacked up the price and lowered it to a reasonable market value deal. There were only a couple of the uncommons, but nothing outrageously rare. I bought the bundle for a handful of condition upgrades.

    T-Pac Arcade

Watching that Twinbee 3 review really gave me a nostalgic hit with that classic Konami charm. All mixed with inventive enemies, bosses, backgrounds and Japanesey tunes. @T-Pac, I recommend trying out Parodius on the SNES if you haven’t already played it. Very similar kind of charm.
  23. That’s not the point. Firstly, the listing was arguably deceptive. If the game(s) come in poorer condition, and included a dead bug with some cart rot, the seller needs to take some responsibility. Instead I got called “petty” without that ass even wanting clarification from what I meant by “dead bug found in cart”. The pic was later shown to him via the eBay refund process, and no apology given whatsoever by him. The seller is likely the type to pull other dodgy stunts as in the theme of this thread.
  24. Rare game missing vs common game with a dead bug. Still in keeping with the theme shonky sellers and big lots!
