  1. Easy one for me...1983: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi!
  2. Star Fox 64 was already mentioned but I wholeheartedly agree. Jak & Daxter...loved the first game then the series took a serious nosedive onto some garbage GTA clones. Sly Cooper is another, loved the first one to death but I just couldn't get into the sequels. LittleBigPlanet, I loved the first game, so much charm, but all the sequels and spinoffs just lack that something that made the first special. Kid Icarus Uprising is another one id say. I don't hate the first 2 games but Uprising is in a league of its own. One more I just thought of is Duke Nukem 3D. I believe I've tried all the games I the series but 3D is the only one I enjoyed. I disagree but understand with those saying Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright. The first games of each were certainly the best but I enjoyed all of them in each series.
  3. This is one of those games I really want to like more than I actually do. For years I played it with no idea what I was doing outside of simple platforming and I hated it. Years later I looked up the finer details of the game and understood it more. So now I slightly like it, but I still don't think it's great. 6/10
  4. Mario Strikers Battle League on Switch, about 2 weeks ago. I still regularly buy new games in store.
  5. Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy X Chrono Cross Legend of Mana Legend of Dragoon Vagrant Story Xenogears Dragon Quest VIII Breath of Fire III Breath of Fire IV
  6. I gave it a 5 which may or may not have been too harsh. But regardless, this game lacks the charm of most of the later Kirby games, this is also pre-copy-ability so it lacks that as well. It's about 15-20 minutes long, easy as cake to beat, and has very little in the way of variety, substance or replay value. I played the crap out of this game when i was kid simply because it was the first and only Game Boy title I owned for quite a while. But once I got Zelda Link's Awakening and Pokemon Red, I never looked back at this game. But all in all, it's a serviceable game I guess and gives you a peek at Kirby's origins.
  7. 3D World is one that really grew on me over time. I thought it was rather forgettable the first time I played it but over time I found myself going back to it and with the rerelease on Switch with Bowser's Fury included it quickly became one of my favorites.
  8. Yes some of them "don't count" but this is my order as it is, I just wanted to include every Mario platformer. 9. And a way better game. What's sad to me is it would've been better for both Nintendo and fans if they just remastered Charged and added online multiplayer. That would've been better than Battle League.
  10. Mario games are always better with 100%. Kirby, Donkey Kong Country, Crash Bandicoot, all better with 100%. Better without? Anything big like Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dark Souls, etc.
  11. It's a bad sequel, more or less. They should've expanded on the Strikers formula they already had and added new things to it. Instead they basically rebuilt the first Strikers game but worse under the guise of a "new" game.
  12. If they add content to it, I imagine it will be free, like they did for Mario Tennis Aces. But for me personally that is too long to wait for more content.
  13. I had a long rant about this game typed out but I'll shorten it to: "This game is not good, it's inferior in every way to Mario Strikers Charged on Wii, and is yet another Mario spinoff that feels like a cheap cash-in for Nintendo"
  14. Always enjoy reading about other members of the community

  16. Fantastic game, debates between a 9 and 10. Ultimately gave it a 9 but it's a near perfect game,I think the only negative is that the game ends after 30 days in-game regardless of whether you got the parts or not. Otherwise such an amazing game, all 3 main series games are amazing. Even Hey Pikmin was pretty fun on the 3DS. Probably one of Nintendo's most charming series.
  17. A little bit about why I chose this: I was never much of an arcade guy, simply because my parents never took me to one as a kid, didn't get to go to an "arcade" til much later like late teens/early 20s, when the big games of the time were Cruis'n Exotica and Time Crisis 3 and all that. So I never got to go in arcade's heyday. However my parents took me to pizza hut every so often as a kid, and they had one single arcade machine hidden in the corner: OutRun. And every time we went I'd ask my mom or dad for quarters while we waited (it was usually a pretty long wait) and I'd play it over and over and over. I was never any good, but I loved the game and still do.
  18. Probably my least favorite of the DKC games but still excellent. I'm a huge fan of the series and my excitement for this when it came out was immeasurable. Still it's absolutely a fantastic platformer for anyone. 9/10
  19. I like their hits but never interested me much beyond that. 6/10
  20. Open (comic book) questions: A) Marvel, DC or other? B) Favorite super hero? C) Favorite super villain? D) Favorite superhero movie? My answers: A) Marvel but I like comics of all kinds B) Gun to my head, Spiderman. But I love Daredevil, Hulk, Deadpool and Shazam equally C) Venom if antiheroes count, but otherwise The Riddler D) Spiderman 1 w/ Tobey McGuire
  21. Never seen the whole thing, caught bits and pieces of it, but I want to sit and watch it from beginning to end. I have known it more over the years for many of the quotes than anything else.
  22. Finished Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey on Genesis for the first time. Really enjoyable game, didn't blow me away but it was a solid game. I wish it was a little longer, but oh well, it's a 30 year old Disney game. Also replayed Sonic 3 & Knuckles on Genesis, still the best Sonic game to date (maybe barring Sonic Mania). Still holds up extremely well. Probably my favorite game on the system. Played through Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing on PS3, which was pretty fun. Now working on completing the sequel, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, which I am enjoying a lot more.
  23. Bought a PS2 for this game back in 2003 or whenever it came out. Absolutely LOVED this game back in the day. Then, I finished it...and never continued the franchise. Even to this day this is the only game in the series I've played despite owning the collection on PS4. So going back a few years, when I first got the collection, I was really excited to Kingdom Hearts HD because I hadn't played it in 15 years or so and last I left it, I had very good memories of it. However, this is one of those dreaded cases in which the game does not hold up. Maybe objectively it's still an okay game, but in 2003 it was one of my favorite games. In the 2020's? Not so much. I found the entire game to be an extreme chore. To the point that I couldn't even force myself to finish it this time around. I really wanted to play through it so I can finally play the other games in the series, and sure I could just move onto KH2 but I wouldn't feel right moving on without finish KH one more time. I used to hold the original game in such high regard, for years despite only playing it through once, now close to 20 years ago, but the realization has hit me: I don't really like the game that much. I tried to assess why that is. I think at the time I was so excited to see Disney themed worlds mixed with Final Fantasy characters, the charm was through the roof. The combat system was pretty unique at the time and I enjoyed it. The story was halfway decent. The soundtrack was (still is) phenomenal. But playing the game today has taken the blindfold off to see the ugly reality of a game that really isn't all that special, where the gameplay is a slog and extremely repetitive, and worst of all the level design is atrocious. I can only think of 2 levels in the entire game that I enjoyed in my most recent attempt at a playthrough (Monstro and Halloween Town). Even just the first two levels are enough to make me delete my save file, turn the system off and throw the disc out the window. I don't think it's a terrible game, I just don't think it's all that fun. It feels like a chore. I hate chores. It would feel more appropriate to play this game if someone were to give me a weekly allowance for it. I really do want to finish my KH HD playthrough and finally see if KH2 and 3 are better, but my hopes are not that high that will ever happen. Shame. 6/10
