  1. SNES of course. Aladdin on the SNES is part of the outstanding Disney/Capcom series which follows the "platformer with a gimmick" formula that made Duck Tales, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck and the Mickey Mouse games so good. Controls are tight and once you know your way around the levels, it is super satisfying to clear them as you run, bounce, flip and glide in one smooth continuous, beautiful, almost artistic, motion.
  2. Legend of Mana remake on Switch and lovin' it.
  3. Seeing as some movies required 2 or even 3 VHS tapes and some computer games required multiple floppy discs to be installed, games on multiple CDs didn't strike me as odd. Often this was required when games had a lot of video to run and from that era onward, JRPGs are loaded to the brim with cutscenes.
  4. I received 5 or 6 bottles of whisky for my birthday I don't know what got into people I'll be drinking that for years. First bottle I opened: Tomatin Highland Single Malt 12 years old whisky. Bourbon and Sherry casks.
  5. I came here to talk about this! What you see here is the pack-in jewel case that came bundled with the Panasonic FZ-10 for a while. The North American retail version did come in the long box.
  6. I googled some obscure unreleased 3DO game and stumbled upon RFGeneration entirely by accident. I instantly signed up, posted a few and started building my collection on there. I wish I knew about that forum some 10+ years ago.
  7. Was playing Radiant Historia and I liked it a lot, but I needed a break from RPGs so I started Ion Fury and it's hella good but how does one find all them secrets holy balls.
  8. Well Happy Birthday to you, who was born just a few weeks before September 11 2001, the day shit changed.
  9. Do you have an actual save file on a memory card? In any case, if you are going to be playing JRPGs on PSIO like that you will have other occasions to swap discs so I would figure it out through support or official FAQs.
  10. wow I never realized this. Even the OG on 3DO has an M rating I can't say I played enough of this game to see all the content, but you never really see humans on screen or anything. I know there's a lot of trash talk going on so maybe there's heavy cursing in the comments and cutscenes? I don't remember.
  11. It's fun to note that the ESRB was created in September of 1994 so before that, parents couldn't tell just from the box or label art what was going to be in the game. If you see a fatality in MK, you'll know it's gore/violence but if you're just looking at the box or label, that's just a logo. And if you're watching a round, then it's just a fighting game no different than Street Fighter except for the digitized look, with flashy red blood.
  12. When I was 12 I'd go to the arcades and play Gals Panic for some T&A.
  13. I came here to mention the 3DO! Note that the Panasonic FZ-1 had the visualizer, but not the FZ-10. Don't know about Goldstar/Sanyo/LG models.
  14. In that sense I would say Mario 64 shaped OoT. Ocarina blew my fucking mind when I played it initially, but with all this time passed I think Mario 64 has more staying power. If I had to pick just one of the two games to play this afternoon, it's always Mario 64.
  15. As per the text, 2/10. I really wanted to like this game but something doesn't click with me. I can see why people love it.
  16. Nice https://www.ebay.com/itm/393460552995 I'm priced way out on this but this looks like a fun console to collect.
  17. I'll only vouch for Silverstar Story for now and the whole thing is entirely subjectvie of course, but as with most classic JRPGs most of my enjoyment is derived from pretty artwork, moving music, interesting characters, engaging story, good pacing and entertaining battles. Lunar Silverstar Story hits the target in my case. The Working Designs packaging probably ehanced my initial experience with the game, too. I like that the battle system offers action points for the characters to use in moving/attacking. It adds a touch of strategy without becoming too "systemey".
