  1. #ProTip - Git Gud Joking aside, I did put it down after a few attempts(15 to 20), only to come back the next day and finally kick its butt(after 10-15 more attempts). Once you have the attack patterns down, its not too bad(assuming you have more then 7 Energy Tanks and 150 Missiles and use the X-Button whenever applicable).
  2. While I haven't said anything, I've been watching this and I'm loving what you've done so far Casual, so keep it up! A few potential suggestions, if you don't mind: Rolling Turtle (Kirby's Adventure, oddly the only game it ever appears in, being replaced by Phan-Phan) Nightmare (Kirby's Adventure, without the concept art/updated renditions, I wouldn't really know what I'm looking at here) Queen of Quills (The Messenger, boss from the 8-bit part of the game) Berkana (Mega Man Xtreme 2, witch for Halloween, GBC counts as 8-Bit?)
  3. Can't forget TimeCop Also, there's Winter Gold, but I'm not sure if it's "cut-scenes" would count.
  4. Lets see... Futurama, Gravity Falls, and The Good Place.
  5. I didn't intend to leave, but my electric company says otherwise.
  6. Super Metroid randos are the only ones I've had experience with, but I love them. I'm the type of person who (after beating it normally) likes to play through games as fast as possible. So getting certain item combinations in a rando early and just speeding through Zebes is a wonderful exhilarating feeling. I've been using Varia Randomizer to produce mine, but there are other options available (at least 1). There also a section of Varia that can customize the sprite set for Samus for different colors and even different characters (Luigi, Alucard, Sprite Soda Can, Captain Novolin) without actually making it a rando (now you can play regular Super Metroid as a Windows Mouse Cursor). As for Randomized Cartridges, unless it's a flash cart or has a built in feature to randomize the game when you want, that doesn't seem like wise idea (you'd be stuck with the same run every time).
  7. If something happens to my Switch, then yeah, I'll pick it up. Until then, I'll just pass.
  8. I'm not 100% sure on how you got that conclusion. It seems the joke I was going for wasn't as funny as I thought (and yes I know how to slide). Honestly, I should use Search Snake instead of Gemini Laser.
  9. If going by just the first 3 titles, The X series. There's nothing wrong with Mega Man 1, 2, and 3. In fact, I would put Mega Man 3 above Mega Man X and X3 in terms of fun. However, the same cannot be said about MM 1&2. They are both fine games, but compared to the rest of the classic MMs, they don't hold up(for me at least). ... I think I'll go overboard and bullet point my problems with all the games(Classic and X). Mega Man Certain level sections feel overly long and/or empty (Ice and Bomb Man) Spikes that are instant kill even with I-Frames (fixed in later entries) Hyper Bomb and Super Arm Magnet Beam is required but is easily miss-able (end of Wily 1) The propeller platforms in Ice Man and Wily 1 (extremely glitchy) Obnoxious enemy placements (Wily 2 Bladers and Elec Man Big Eye) Mega Man 2 Heat Man's Yoku Blocks (put over pit, overly long, and poorly programmed(better working version seen in Mega Man 9's Endless Attack) Can't pause with weapon projectile on screen (Time Stopper must be used all at once) Awful Weapon Ammo Values (Crash Bomb and Atomic Fire) Certain enemies too bullet spongy (Sniper Joe + Mech and Changkey Makers) Wily Stage Boss Death flashing (it seems worse then the other games here) Boobeam Trap The Alien being weak to only 1 weapon AND any other weapon used against it (including normal buster) HEALS IT Mega Man 3 Spark Shock (only damages bosses and its damage output is either equal or lesser to another weapon) Top Spin (just wonky, still better then Spark Shock) 2nd Half of Doc Needle Man is a nightmare if you mess up Doc Quick Man (YOU'RE TOO SLOW) Can't pause with weapon projectile on screen Gamma being only damageable by 2 weapons per phase VERSUS Mega Man X So slow without the Leg Upgrade Homing Torpedo... exists Head Upgrade is too situational Too much REQUIRED backtracking for 100% Ride Armor not that great (good, not great) Mega Man X2 Waiting for the moving platform in Counter Hunter 2 is boring Mega Man X3 Most of the weapons... exist 3 out of 4 Ride Armors suck, remaining 1 is worse then previous game Pointless Armor Chip Upgrades (the individual ones) Sigma 2nd Phase Zero's inclusion as a playable character is pretty pointless I should note, if it were the entire classic series vs the entire X series, Classic would win (I don't care for the PS1 X games outside of music)
  10. 8.5/10 - Butlers are cool, but I don't think you can say you were also King Koopa. Unlike Mr. Belvedere...
  11. Well the same studio (Japan System House) developed both games, so its probable that both games had the same composer (and in turn, a similar style). Now what would be interesting is how MMII's music sounds on Game Gear, considering MMII was the only(?) game the studio ever made for the Game Boy.
  12. The Wii was pretty much my first game console. We did have an NES, but I didn't play it that much before the Wii. Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros Brawl were my favorite games, with me sinking nearly 500 hours into both games combined(the only game since to out do those numbers is Breath of the Wild(nearly 1000)), plus I found great enjoyment out of games like Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Super Paper Mario, and Super Mario Galaxy 2. And then there's the Virtual Console. That was my first time experiencing Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Kirby Super Star, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Super Metroid, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Kirby 64, and Paper Mario. I don't think I'd have an interest in retro games or my game collection if it wasn't for the Wii's Virtual Console. There is a point to be made about too much shovelware, but my time with the console was an extremely enjoyable one.

  15. Thank you to all those who participated in the 31-Day Video Game Music Challenge 3. If you'd like to know where any of the assets used in the banners came from, just ask(spoiler: its either 'The Spriters Resource', some random website, or homemade).
  16. ... just this once, don't tell @ZeldaFreak to turn around. It is also time for another "please update your list(if you can)" reminder. In this case, for those who're behind 10 days or more. @Sumez @Aguy ZeldaFreak Tomorrow will be the last round of the @'s (watch out all you non-daily updaters). After that, its time for Day 31 and talk about 31-Day VGMC 4... and if there should be one.
  17. Hmmm... so the "Great Evil" decides to show itself now. I wonder what it could be? And if you're expecting these to get better: Sorry, they're only going to get worse.
  18. Not sure if we crashed to avoid the Space Bandicoot or because we hit the Space Bandicoot Crossing sign. Also, obligatory meme phrase .
  19. 7 Grand Dad - *shrug* CDi Freak - Decent(?) Rapper (Language Warning) Smol Fox - Grand Dad Mania Revisited AO98imon - Anyone here watch this show?
