  1. Next set of Mario Kart 8 DLC courses release next Thursday (August 4th)
  2. Happy Belated/Early 30th Birthday to two of the finest OSTs produced for the Sega Mega Drive (they're also pretty amazing shmups, both available on Nintendo Switch) GL Favorites: Story 1, Stage 1, Stage 2, Story 4 + Stage 10, Boss Theme 1 TFIV Favorites: Sand Hell, Great Sea Power, Metal Squad, Stand Up Against Myself, Omake 2
  3. People paying $30 or more for media in 1981 was just about everyone. The first VHS and Beta films were sold for $100 each in 1977, and while most prices went down as the 80's went on, new releases were still priced rather high (someone here mentioned their parents paying $70 for Top Gun when it released and I've got a film called 'The Cotton Club' (1985 release) with 79.95 printed on the sleeve).
  4. Full version of 'Vindicate Me' (its an awesome tune)
  5. Thunder Force V turned 25 today... or yesterday, depending where you live. Fun fact: a 'Prologue' song was made for the Saturn version of the game (different from the PSX release), but was never implemented. Luckily, it was included on the official CD soundtrack (with the narration included.. yay).
  6. So if Mario Kart doesn't win for Game Night on this round (the 9th), can I suggest it not be put on the poll for the 23rd? I'll (hopefully) be on a boat fishing for the first time in 8 years or so that weekend.
  7. Finally got around to starting Xenoblade Chronicles. My favorite tracks so far:
  8. I know what it is, but I never had any interest in playing League and I've also heard people, who are into playing it, say that 'its not worth playing'. (though some characters look neat)
  9. Are you aware of Parts 1 and 3 of 'The Justice Ray' as well? I don't know if it was Hyakutaro Tsukumo's(Technosoft's Head/Only(?) composer post-1992) intention to have all three songs combined into one medley, but based on someone's arrangement, they do sound like they fit together. A little bit skeptical if 'Wirbelwind's Theme' should even be considered Part 4. Still a great track regardless. Not sure why its used for the first boss though.
  10. One of the greatest Genesis/Mega Drive games with an equally amazing soundtrack turns 32 today. (Personal favorites: Beyond the Peace (Stage Select), The Grubby Dark Blue (Stage 3), G-Lobster (Stage 4 Boss), and Hunger Made Them Desperate (Stage 7).
  11. There are a couple arcade games in this episode of 'The Greatest American Hero' (though the only name I made out was 'Armor Attack'). Also, according to IMDB, the game that is shown being played is 'Advanced Dungeons and Dragons' for the Intellivision.
  12. Happy 50th Birthday to Dutch composer, Jeroen Tel!
  13. (full res image here - https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/97904395) Kirby's Dream Land released on the Game Boy in Japan back on April 27th, 1992! The Kirby series will always have a special place in my heart: Its one of the few series where just about every game I tried was a joy to play and it was also the first instance of me wanting to go back and play previous installments, which would lead me down the path of video game collecting.
  14. Part of me likes Sonic 1 on Master System more then Genesis.
  15. I don't really know how to describe "The News is the News" other then awful (and forgettable as I'm having trouble trying to describe it, but Wikipedia says 'Live-News Satire Program'). I wasn't old enough to watch this when it first aired on June 15, 1983, but ended up being lucky/unlucky enough to watch a recording of the first episode on Betamax a few years ago. But compared to other shows recorded on other tapes from the same lot/similar shows on the air at that time, this was just unfunny and boring. Should probably transfer it before the tape goes bad though.
  16. I'd assume nobody would be against it if you still made your list now.
  17. Yeah its an Aldi brand. While not a cracker, Aldi sells what are essentially Girl Scout 'Peanut Butter Patties' except that the cookie inside is chocolate rather then vanilla. After buying a box of Girl Scoutl PBP's recently, I will say that Aldi's version tastes better (results may vary per person though).
  18. These are what I've been buying, though I do try and get the 'White Cheese' flavor if they have them in (the best flavor). I still think Cheese Nips tasted better then these (especially the Four Cheese Cheese Nips).
  19. Haven't bought them in a long time, but I've always thought 'Whales' were superior to 'Goldfish'. Also, a bit bummed to find that 'Cheese Nips' were discontinued a few years ago. Always preferred them over 'Cheez-Its'.
  20. I'm almost certain that I'm not the only person who's pulled their hair out just hoping for the RNG to be in their favor only for it not to be. Over. And over. And over. And over. And over. And I"VE BEEN BASHING STARMAN SUPERS FOR THE PAST 3 HOURS! WHERES MY SWORD OF KINGS?!! Yeah, Earthbound has a good chunk of the best equipment stuck as 1/128 drops: Sword of Kings, Gaia Beam, Magic Fry Pan, Star Pendant, Goddess Ribbon, and Gutsy Bat (a moment of silence for anyone who used the Earthbound Player's Guide). I don't remember ever getting any one these items on my first play through and, it might just be me, but for whatever reason when I did try to go after them, its always taken me at least an hour or more to finally obtain it. Most recently, I spent 3 hours EACH trying to get the Sword of Kings and Gaia Beam on a play through I started back in February and in the midst of trying to get the first of three Star Pendants (an hour in at the time), just sort of gave up on the hunt, went and bashed Gyigas and Porky back into Mother 1 and 3 respectively, and called it a day. Anyway, anyone else have a horrible RNG experience to share?
