  1. Sadly no. And not because I am not a fan of those series. Or the fact that I managed to order mine via AmiAmi. It's because my luck would have me be the only person to buy a reproduction of those music boxes, only to find out they are cursed after I gave them to you guys as gifts. And I don't want to see some most any of you guys be forever marked with the PCE repro symbol, forever wondering what comes next.
  2. Sadly, you have mistaken me for the guy who sold all of those overpriced Wata games on HA. EDIT: But seriously, @Hammerfestus... I hope that you, @kiljo, @Murray, @JamesRobot, and @OptOut do not seriously think my ongoing scenario is a joke. I will not say what lead to the name change, but will say that even unintentionally taking my suffering lightly is not cool.
  3. Seeing that my lack of sleep means that I am done with yet another self-entitled derailment... I will just cap off my time here by saying that I have a 2-tier system that helps me in topics like this one: If I can create a short, or long, term business out of grading games. Short-term means that the work needed is a way to transition to a wider, more long-term business model. So if I have the money, an idea what will sell, and which business model that'll sustain me... It is worth getting graded. If I have a game series, or franchise, that I am 100% sure will be with me for years... I'll have what I can get graded, with the rest being graded once they have been obtained. (With my current focus being the Final Fantasy franchise on PS5, with PS4 being rare cases. I am also looking at other SE titles to fill in the wait time.) That is pretty much it. That derailment is not new to me, as I had to deal with another who chose to vilify graded Star Wars figure collectors. While acting like their opinion matters more than the topic being just like this one. Thus why I need to talk to "sane" people who can be neutral to grading companies. Oh... And I am hoping that my PS5 "early purchase" sticker variant of Crisis Core Reunion looks good in the new Wata cases. I think the silver sticker and their matte grey will compliment each other.
  4. Ummm... Nice Freudian slip. Because I never said you were one of those people. Then again, if you want to compare literal fuck ups... I am nearing "Year 7" of not being able to see a Doctor. All because my budget is limited to SSI, and Human Resources has put me in an infinite loop ever since I found out a glitch in their system has made them not acknowledge my legal name. But I guess the fact Wata did another screw up is far worse than what I am going through. Just because you just want to say what you want to say, etc.
  5. First off, where the [hour long expletive that derails into a porno that involves two girls and a copy of Excitebike that meet at a HA-Wata orgy that results in it dealing with Chlamydia after it was graded and still sells big on eBay] was this version of Tyree in the other topic?! And second off, them asking it back includes them both refunding the submitter and paying what he paid for the game. What makes it "too late" is the fact the submitter chose to be an asshole.
  6. No thank you. I have seen that one Rick & Morty episode enough times to know that is a bad idea. Plus ever since I swapped Dragon Quest for Final Fantasy, I found that I am willing to take one for the team if the right Miqo'te is also willing. And I can get enough elixirs to keep us going. Oh wait... You are talking about "fucking" them in a "They are annoying as shit on a hot day." kind of scenario. Yeah, I relate to that. And wish you the best when it comes to beating the game.
  7. Where's your proof, Mr. Troll Slip-Up? Oh wait, there is none. All I did was REPEATEDLY state that once the submitter receives their graded item, they are primarily responsible for the product. Meaning that lack of willingness to correct any mistakes is not the grading company's fault. Versus the validity of your distrust only being valid if the grading company refuses to fix that mistake. That is not defending, but rather one of many reasons why I would contact a grading company before I do business with them. As well as the number of reasons why I am also saying that grading companies like CGA have done worse. Despite them fixing their mistakes when it came to the Toy Toni scenario. LINK: http://www.nintendoplayer.com/feature/vga/ The above report literally says VGA has done some shady shit in the past. So bad that Wata could have given this copy of Excitebike Chlamydia and people would still say, "Well at least they did not authenticate prototypes under false pretenses." As opposed why there was an ungraded copy of Excitebike at a Wata-HA orgy. So back to me... I don't have a delicate ego system, thus I don't care about rare games like most do. And I don't use any that I may get as an excuse to say anything that is an abuse to my own intellect. I only collect games that I have concluded to be an overall interest to me. Thus the only reason why I would get them graded. And Wata? They are an 80 mile drive from where I live. Versus CGC, which resides in Florida. So seeing that it is more cost effective to try them out once the new cases debut, how is me trying them out a "defense" against your nonsense? Is that your ego so delicate that me willing to use them automatically means I am defending them? Nope. Realistically, I can go on. But in a case like this, you need to grow up and move on. Because all I care about, where Wata is concerned, is the idea that they will not do the same half-assed job VGA did with my only submission to them.
  8. It's that nice. So nice that I cannot do my Monty Python skit. Mostly because I used to have Commodore 64 with both the original monitor, the original tape drive, the original disk drive, and copies of a number of games I never finished. Yes, I am that old.
  9. After posting a list of his slip-ups, your forum friendly high-functioning "sociopath" (aka me) added an update to that video in said response. The story he was told was that the seal/wrap was found to be inauthentic, thus removed by those who had originally authenticated the game. And that at some later point, which I need to ask them about, Wata realized their mistake and contacted said submitter. With the submitter reported to have refused to return it, possibly because he was greedy. Or whatever. Either case, here is the video and it includes changes to that seller's page. And for the record, things like this are why my current plan only involves games that have me be the first owner.
  10. Anywho... I want to repeat the fact that I will not be grading games anytime soon. And will specifically detail every reason why I had them graded when I do. So instead I want to show some of that gaming love to @OptOut by quoting the #1 thing I think he will agree with: “That guy selling the DuckTales prototype is smoking crack!” –DuckTales producer Darlene Lacey’s reaction to seeing a VGA prototype cartridge being auctioned for $5,000 (or best offer)
  11. As my genetic paternal cousin, who is on my late father's late mother's late mother's side when it comes to the Doyle end of my family tree, once said... "I never guess. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts." For beginners your claims that video game authenticators must be flawless in their findings is impossible, and not improbable. While you calling them idiots for such a slip-up, as I have listed 20 of yours in this topic, is valid simply because Wata's authenticator might have felt that way after the game was returned to the submitter. As for the slip-up bit... I'll be polite and just list yours instead of doing any childish name calling. SLIP-UP NUMBER... You are not a professional authenticator and have no idea how hard the job really is. You have not worked for any of the grading companies you claim to be an "expert" on. Your repeated piece of "evidence" was not submitted by you. The seller of that graded repro threatened to sue because they believe it is authentic. The seller of that graded repro has not contacted said grading company with said new info. The seller of said graded repro is not you, thus omits any validity your claims hold. You never offered any proof that all grading companies say their authenticators are flawless. You never offered any proof that all grading companies will correct their side of this issue. You never offered any proof the grading companies are legally excused from a situation like that one. Your assumptions that authenticators are "flawless" has been proved false time and time again. You have made no efforts to contact said grading companies about said topic. You have made no efforts to contact said grading company about that specific game. You have made no efforts to discuss their own TOS have to say on the subject. Your entire argument is about a single game, and not the entire scenario tied to it. Your entire argument omits the fact that it is a Japanese release. Your entire argument omits the fact that graded Japanese ports are not that common. Your entire argument omits the fact that not many are true experts on Japanese ports. Your entire argument deflects the responsibilities of the submitter. Your argument dismisses the fact there is no "definitive database" for all authenticators to use. And you constantly mention the same product, but also failed to notice that it is CIB (i.e. NOT sealed). I'll stop at that one because here is the update to the original video. What he says has points, and I hope what he heard is true. Otherwise I am going to have to ask Wata since it has caught my interest. You will hear that they removed the seal because they knew it was not authentic. Then that Wata realized they graded a reproduction, asked the submitter to return it, and the submitter refused due to his original claims. Which is funny because if it is true, Madlittlepixel has verbally validated what I was saying to you. Oh... And I am going to have fun playing those games once I have a PS5, with my graded copies safely displayed in a way that even those who do not support graded games understand why I got them graded. *wink*
  12. It's so shiny people want it for the Pokémon Go collection! ...But not shiny enough for people to kiss.
  13. I have tried to be nice to you, despite the reality you spend more time treating your views as facts than you actually look up facts. With you saying this being both asinine and lazy. All because you think you are right. For beginners, I have tried out both CGA and CAS, as well as have bought items by UKG, CGC (comics), CBCS, and a few card grading companies. With the same level of intent placed into my first freelance article I wrote for one of Beckett's publications. (My second, and last, was not fun to write for them.) All you have given me is nothing more than angry accusations that are not even direct responses, with intent for you to act like you know more than others who are not even members here. Which includes Tom Darby, who used to be part of CGA long before there was competition. Along with those in the Transformers and Star Wars toy collecting communities, who have reported issues similar to the only game you chose to use as fodder. If you want to continue this claim, feel free. Those who choose not to be you are going to hear me say that I have spent money using both CGA and CAS's services just to see how I like them. I have asked questions to CGA, CAS, Wata, CGC, CBCS, and UKG (with UKG being the only one who has ghosted me). And I have even read reports like this one. With the point being that your example is more about the seller being an issue than the slip-up. With an adage being that representatives for those grading companies saying their info is not always up-to-date. Simply meaning that when your example was graded as authentic, the grading company might not have known about the reproductions. Have you thought of that? I cannot say. And will not address from this point on. It's a waste of my time and tolerance. Now if you don't mind I would like to support your right to not have things graded. Just like how I came here to support those who have their own reasons to have things graded. Oh... And to find out how shiny and metal @JamesRobot's ass is. (^_^)v
  14. In my defense I have opted to only submit Japanese releases simply because I also buy my U.S. games digitally.
  15. Yes, the entire point of paying a grading service is also to have said product be certified as authentic. But it does not excuse anybody from asking the grading company if they have a policy when it comes to situations like that. Because anybody who expects a service to be done perfectly are the last to complain if their game is a repro. Double if they chose one that has a "no refund" or a "no buy back" policy if that ever turns out to be the case. Thus the bigger issue is not the chance a grading company does a slip up. It's the fact that there are sellers who will cry "Libel!" and threaten to sue because they choose to put money before doing what is right. And yet, the submitter has the following options before they choose to pay for said service: Contact the grading company and ask them anything not discussed on their website. (Such as what to do if an authenticated item turns out to be a reproduction, etc.) Seek out websites, forums, blogs, vlogs, etc. that contains any leads to finding out if the item in question is authentic or not. With added details showing that CGA has, and still will, correct these types of mistakes. With CAS also willing to do it, as they have a "satisfaction guaranteed" promise. And Wata, despite having their clause being tied to Colorado and not California, willing to do the same. Thus the point being is that your only given example is tied to a seller who chose to make legal threats instead of just having the issue corrected. Which is why any neglect after the submitter gets said incorrectly graded game is not the grading company's fault. But I will say this, even my edit of what I am saying did not help me understand VGA's new TOS. So my guess is that they'll correct said mistake unless they have legal reasons not to.
  16. And those who are using those brands as an excuse to deflect the fact they are willing to sell a repro as authentic are not the bigger issue here? However... I am sure that Wata's new owners would have bought any graded by the company. Just not sure about VGA since they offer no details and have a shadier history than most here know about. Also... Your last statement sounds like a yaoi-themed Dragon Ball story that Frieza would have written.
  17. I agree with you on this. However, the confidence is tied more to brand accountability than anything else. Which is a problem because a company like CGA does not put in the same level of work like Wata does. But many who scramble for their brand do not care that CGA's former owners have done things similar to what Wata is accused of doing. Nor many will question the authenticity of a graded product because it has the AFA/VGA sticker on it. But regardless of that, I still trust the grades I have gotten from AFA, VGA, and CAS than what a seller has told me prior to me getting the item. Value is arbitrary. A sealed game is worth its original retail price, with general increases being tied to stuff like inflation and grading/slabbing fees. With those paying to have games graded actually paying more for the cases than the grade. Auction houses like Sotheby's will also state that the value of a product is based more on what they think it will sell in an auction. Meaning that some will pay a higher sum for said product for their own reasons, as opposed to make an effort to win it for less through an auction. Thus, the realization a buyer has is tied to what they think it is worth. I have seen CGA do both that, and similar things, in their AFA department long before we found out they have graded bootleg Pokémon games. For example both AFA and UKG have graded Toy Toni sealed Star Wars figures as authentic. Which, if asked, is one of the top reasons why I am wary of buying anything outside the three stores I trust. As well as why I am only focusing on having whatever PS4/PS5 games I want to have graded for preservation/display purposes.
  18. I'm with @Tanooki on this one, even though I know how frustrating it is to buy something that looks authentic... Only for it to turn out as not being just that. Just like how I thought that Wii exclusive Dragon Quest collection was going to be sealed. With what I got turning out to be both opened and inspected by the original seller.
  19. @avatar!'s statements remind me why I stopped going to Jungle's online store when it comes to MOC/MISB collectibles. As well as both Amazon and Gamestop for select games that I wanted to collect. With Jungle, I was told by an employee that knows English that any items with no "damage" notes are in collectible (or better) condition. Lets just say that neither USPS nor UPS could do worse to one item, with two looking like something I could find on eBay. And with Gamestop... Padded envelope. Which makes me wish they would offer a "collector upgrade" fee since it was one of their exclusive variants! Granted that it was Dark Alliance, but I would have paid that fee just to not get a smashed box! Ugh... I feel for you guys and currently feel that since Wata is around 80 miles from my home, I should just drop off my submissions and call it a day. When I have the money to both drive there and pay for the submissions.
  20. When I was a Dragon Quest fan (which began on Christmas, 1989) it went from just beating every version of the first game to a whole lot more. Namely it became the following, thanks to everything the Japanese fanbase had to offer: The characters. The stories. The connections between each game. The music. The art designs. The commercials. The events beyond the games. And a reason to get out of the house/apartment for a chance to find (and buy) a new collectible (and/or game). Between 2017-2021 I translated every useful and fact tidbit that I could find. Even going as far as learning about every print run there was for the Dragon Quest games. Even after the fact I overwhelmed myself before I obtained the last few portable Japanese releases. Which was my fault because I wanted to upgrade a few. Thankfully I found a Japanese collector who owned every variant of every Dragon Quest game. Including the exclusive consoles. Because I found out that Dragon Quest VI (DS) had two print variants, with the first being super rare. Plus there is the fact that the actual timelines (for those who care about that) is more complicated than they actually seem to be. For example, Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart (GBA) is both the prequel to Dragon Quest VII and the epilogue to the entire Roto/Erdrick series. While the Mystery Dungeon series connects Dragon Quest IV to Dragon Quest VIII. Stuff that made me want to play the games while I dread the reality how much it would cost to own them. Simply playing video games in general has to do with some of you a-holes. Namely the ones that respected what I was into, and all that jazz. With the characters, stories, and music being tied to what games I choose to play. ("Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto... Domo!") Plus, Final Fantasy (PS5 releases; budgetary reasons) is currently taking over Dragon Quest's role in my life. And not just because the "fandom" is both a fandom and less toxic, but also because I was a fan of the franchise since Christmas, 1990.
  21. Agreed. Which is a similar reason why I ended up purchasing my PS4 copy of Final Fantasy VII Remake, as opposed to paying eBay prices just to add Intergrade to my PS5 collection. In Japan they put those who were unable to get a PS5, thus not be able to play Intergrade, first by reprinting more copies of Remake. With the ongoing change being that they omitted the "timed exclusive" sticker the previous print had. Which is one of those reasons I respect Square Enix as a company. Where as situations like this remind me why it is a good thing I am not returning to the Dragon Quest fandom. Gamers, like sellers, put their ideologies before the fandom. And that eventually harms those who work hard to be part of that fandom. Just like those who are baking off this are not only ruining the fun of either owning or playing the game for the hardcore portion of the community, but are also making 87 Arts look bad in the process. My hope is that they'll reissue it and do so with the new print sporting a different colored case. Or one with both that and a different font color being used on the box. Similar to how Nintendo reissued Mike Tyson's Punch Out! for those who missed out on the first run. But, then again, I am a "fan/collector" first kind of guy.

    Top 3

Event #1: I was in the last dungeon and was planning to do some grinding before I had beaten Final Fantasy. When I put the game in, and then turned my NES on, it said that my saved data was corrupted and had to be deleted. Event #2: I was preparing to play Zelda II: The Adventure of Link only to find that my saved game was gone. And in its place was three saved games, each with items you do not start with. Event #3: The day I got to see Shoko Nakagawa's Princess Alena claw/prop in her store (Mamitas). She was the VA in both Dragon Quest Heroes games, and did other promotional events that had involved/included it.
