I'm not sure if I've seen you post it elsewhere, but do you have a specific model already picked out? I'd love to read up on the capabilities. Accessibility has been a bit of a passion of mine for a while so I've got a lot of experience with different peripherals specifically for interfacing with computers, but have no experience with limbs.

This the one I have paid for so it will be a matter of fitting the silicone on the arm to my stump when I cut the useless biologic hand off.

I wanted an esper hand, but those were much more difficult to secure with the Ukranian war ongoing.

  2. The yearly reset is nice, but I feel that the usual suspects always go for the their usual games at the start of the year, clearing the famous games and never straying into strange waters. There needs to be something to incentivize these people to try new things.

That pattern also hurts new members participation because the famous games everyone plays are gone within hours or days of the thread being posted and they don't get the chance to beat a game they know well and feel part of the whole process because it was cleared right away. And they won't try the unusual games, usually.

I know I was guilty of often beating my favourites right after the bells of midnight, not letting people experience GnG, Ikari Warriors, Punch Out and others.

Would be nice to have something to incentivize or force the usual people into doing games other than their usual suspects.

Just to add background on NA the SNES thread was reset annually, but was pretty lackluster on clears most years.  Other than the two years @BeaIankwent wild.

The good ol' days when I still could play them vidja games.
These beat every game threads are tough to complete, specially these days with less participants. Not even the NES one is seeing completion.

I'm not sure if I should feel sad or relieved about it, the idea of replacing a natural hand for a bionic one seem absolutely uncomfortable, but I know at the same time you're doing it for your own good, so I wish you the best with that my dear Bea!

Shit happens, so you have to deal with it. It will be all good. At this point, the bionic hand will be able to do more than my normal hand. And thanks!

Speaking of astronomical scores whatever happened to @Tablew/chairs

Moved on with life, most likely. He was insanely good. One of the very best to ever honour this contest we do for fun with his presence.
I hope he is well and still effortlessly crushing games.

Anyway, while life batters me away, work is being super busy due to holidays season, left hand pretty much gave up and will be replaced with a bionic one late 2024, I still managed to get this done:

    Rolling Thunder - Da Boyds - 17,900

    Gold Medal Challenge:

    100K - 7.77

    Javelin - 107M68

    Triple Jump - 20M01

    Weight Lifting - 260KG

In the interest of Fair Play / Full Disclosure and so on I'd like to point out that I Modified a Jig-Saw and used it to press the A/B buttons for the Gold Medal Challenge Events.  I didn't see anything in the rules against playing smarter in this fashion so I figured why not go for it.  But of course I will concur with whatever ruling our two Benefactors feel is appropriate.......

While this was very cleaver to spare hand fatigue, your scores won't be accepted. You can still redo them playing normally without a physical apparatus to help you,
