Found a beat FDO halo 2 at the local store, brings back a nice memory of seeing the display sitting on the GameStop counter way back when. I was tempted to remove stickers but this thing has already been through it and then some so they're staying on. Back to the cheap genesis games, snagged these 3 @ 3.99 each heck yaaa. Thrift stuffffff Got these 3 at $2 each, woo. This week I missed out by minutes on an intellivision and probably 8 boxed games, saw a guy holding em with excitement heck yaaa. A nice copy of sonic spinball came into the local (with Jurassic Park poster) snagged that and Risk since it had the manual for $5 ea. Also this stereo shelving showed up at the thrift it has such a nice 2000s vibe (xbox-y kinda), super heavy duty, I'm gonna use it to display consoles. Love addin to the shmups Thrift finds: the pacman ghost lights up / color changes and has a party mode that changes color to the beat. Thought it was cute for the game room. 360 speed racing wheel or whatever it's called for $3.50, heck yaa they designed this thing pretty slick. Mandy got Pikmin 4 and I found a Zelda skyward sword amiibo at gamestop (pretty sure this is the reissue of the Amazon exclusive?) I think we are missing the GameStop exclusive twilight princess link to have the whole Zelda set until the other 2? TOTK figures. Woo woo. Thrift gets: dockingbay10 cart holder for the nes with cool slidey door for $4, one of the thrifts got in a bunch of discless Xbox game cases, snagged the fight for ny as a potential replacement case. Seeeegggaaaaa Got Rocket Knight adventures from spacepup! Included was some fine art, or fart as I like to call it. Oui! oui! This cheerfully merry face cries tears of primal rage as the Picassoy character reflects apathetically. Primal rage cart last minute from the thrift for $3.50 wheeeee Have a great week yalllllll! Added Shepard's crossing, taiko drum master(finally got the game since I found the drum thriftin a while back, heck yaaa), la pucelle tactics and samurai legend musashi (heck ya cel shaded styyyyle). Stellvia anime cards (had to Google to learn, haha) thanks again doooooood Thrift stuff: PSP go cable minus the figure 8, pacman ghostly adventures 2, Xbox wireless networking adapter by itself (I still don't have this complete in box, gonna eventually have to get but have the disc and now just need a compatible power cable), and nes power block. drxandy | 3,225 Posted August 25, 2023 Author Share Posted August 25, 2023 Here's this week's gets! all thrift stuff Hylian shield from 2015 costume for 2$, terrible framerate composite to HDMI converter on the left back behind the pocket cdrs (I love mini cdrs they're so cute baha), mini color pacman 2020 for $3 can be wall mounted (perfect with the ghost i just got haha), $25 PS1 with cables, memory card, dualshock and extra gamester controller (Mandy saw it about to be put out at the thrift and was like eh? Eh? Really having to twist my arm over it. I was like "I doooo have some rewards points I could use", flipped it over to see which model and was like uhhh yah we don't have this one. Scph-9001 The psone smol boi revision came out September of 2000, so this is the last original model with smaller mobo, minus the parallel port. The previous owner was a smoker so this thing looked kinda cooked but it was all tar and cleaned up really nice.. really good shape actually! It didn't wanna read games right off the bat so I cleaned the lens with 91iso, tried again and still not loading up properly, popped in a CD and let it play through (this model also has the kickass visualizer if you hit select in the CD menu, so rad) enjoying the visuals and after it ran for a while I tried a game again and it booted right up the later models also fixed stuttering issues with fmv and I was super happy to see solid video playback in the into to crash 2. That's it gamewise this week, I've been finding more HomeGoods than games lately thriftin, some nice mid century modern stainless steel stuff for our kitchen and pots and pans and such: here's a little before and after of some revereware pots from 1991 and '87 They're both cleaned up and shiny now like the right side ready to be put back into service. Goodwill had these 2 and a third from pre1968 bundled for $4 heck yaaaaa still cleaning up the oldest one, had a loooot of build up compared to these two. This week I didn't end up getting any games, little chaotic around here but I did find a pretty decent denon receiver to add to the setup Denon avr-4311ci Wooo look at them ports. This guy came out late 2010, so even with all those tasty HDMI ports up top they're only 1.4a so no modern lovely 4k but a great fit for the PS3/360/Wii era and back, as well as movie/music playback. So many options, so many ways to potentially set up. 140w per channel, 9 amp channels but supports more if you choose to stack another amp with it, going up to 11.2 whoooo I doubt I will go there because the internal amp is enough for me but super cool to have that option. Haven't had the time to really test 'er out but hooked up a pair of bookshelf speakers and it sounded pretty good to meeeee. All from the thrift: Up top, on the left is a USB barcode scanner that I hope to use to catalog the collection one day but $4 heck ya. Premiere ball Pokemon TCG deck holder I hope to maybe mod to fit a GBA sp instead of card deck. 50c GoldenEye guide woo, I kinda dig that it has a local address. $5 each for guitar hero Metallica and nfs shift and a buck for the Wii sensor bar. Also Wii family game night 1 and 2 bundle haha. GameCube controller in gross bad shape, Wii accessories unopened ( @docile tapeworm I looked up Wii sensor bars on eBay and they aren't very expensive but after I take care of the move if I have a spare now I can send ya one just gotta check to see if I have enough for all the Wiis I've acquired) Next Friday is the day!!! Stuff from this week: mandy ordered this special edition for psychonauts 2 like a year ago from iam8bit and it finally showed up, super cool I don't remember what's in the box haha have to open once the dust settles but it went back into the shipping box for now $20 pt serial PS2 from goodwill. heck yaaa with the network adapter, 2 memory cards, 2 controllers and the cords. I didn't have time to test but even if the drive doesn't work can't argue with 20 Mandy got dis vita boyfriend game, 2nd? of 3 in the series, idk look at these boys.
