    • 10/10 - One of your very favorite artists of all time.
    • 9/10 - Killer fucking band. Or artist.
    • 8/10 - Great sound, great songs, great albums.
    • 7/10 - Very good, but not quite great.

    • 6/10 - Pretty good. More than a few songs you like. You'd entertain the thought of seeing them live if they were in the area. Or still alive.
    • 5/10 - They're okay, but maybe not something you'll go out of your way to listen to.
    • 4/10 - Meh. There may be a song or two, or an album that you dig, but you'd rather listen to other stuff.
    • 3/10 - Not very good. You will more likely than not turn the station if they come on the radio.

    • 2/10 - Not your cup of tea at all. Some people like this, but you are not one of them.
      0
    • 1/10 - Horrible in every way.
      0
    • 0/10 - In the running for worst artist/musician of all time. You would rather take a cheese grater to your face than listen to this.

5/10 for historical value.

Country music is terrible, and Cash is overrated. I know its edgy and outlaw-ish to like him, and some songs arent complete garbage (like hurt) but overall hes a strong “Meh”

Cash is so popular even among people who usually dislike country that it's edgier to to not like him.

I don't know i think most of the songs on K-DST in San Andreas are pretty good even though i don't know much about Country otherwise. Those are quite different than Johnny Cash (who i don't like too much either). And people can legitimately sing in this genre, with a lot of popular music these days that's not even a given.

I live in Nashville (in fact, Johnny Cash’s old house/property is a ten minute drive from where I live) and I can tell you country music gets a lot worse than Johnny Cash. As a general rule though, old country >>> current garbage. I’ve never been a country music fan (most of Nashville isn’t, its a facade to bring in tourist dollars) but the original stuff is palatable.

It’s gotta be an 8/10 for me.

Also dig a lot of that outlaw era of country music.  Here's the supergroup with Johnny, Waylon, Willie and what's his name. Good shit.

The 70s outlaw era is my favorite too.  Though anything early 90s or earlier really.  I pretty much ignore modern country.  Why be at the mercy of your local radio station when you can play whatever song/video you want (pretty much) on YT?

And "what's his name" is Kris Kristofferson.

I know it's considered "cultured" to like Johnny Cash and whatnot but personally i can't really get into him. He's just boring.

I've never heard Johnny Cash described as either of those things.  He's clearly just the opposite of both.

This entirely. His cover of "Hurt" though is 11/10

It was so sad though seeing him like that...knowing that in the famous words of Cal Smith, his race was nearly run. 😞   This right here was his final public performance:

Check out this amazing All-Star cast lead by none other than the Man in Black...and his wife is there too of course:

Good ol' what's his name.

Yeah he never did anything important...just write a bunch of songs that would become forever immortalized country classics...plus this non-country one he wrote just for good measure (he in fact dated her some before her sad early passing):

Did I forget to mention he's a Country Music Hall of Famer (2004) as well?

I bet CB Radio was the coolest thing ever back then...I wonder if any one besides truckers/buses/emergency vehicles use it anymore?  Can you download anything that will let you listen to a CB or something on your computer?

There's a couple of sites out there that stream CB chatter.

Or if you joined everyone else in the 21st century and got a tablet or smartphone, there are apps that let you listen in. 😛

I'm mostly a homebody so a tablet/smartphone wouldn't do much good.

I have a PS4 Pro (and PS3 Superslim) that I've now gotten around to playing regularly (and really digging the whole trophy hunting thing)...is that not 21st century enough for ya? 😛
