That's because Matrix 2 and 3 were awful. They never should have made those sequels, I still pretend they never happened.

It's the greatest console sequel of all time, bar none. II honestly can't think of anything in my life where the leap from one generation to the next was as amazing as this. Is it better than the NES? Man I don't know, if I absolutely had to pick only one that I could play for the rest of my life it would be a tough choice, but I'd probably pick the NES? The NES has the better overall library, but the absolute best games on either system are most likely SNES games (FFIII, Super Metroid, LTTP, Contra III, etc vs the NES counterparts). And lets not forget that a massive amount of terrible games were released on the SNES (as documented by Reed). Still, it's 100% top tier to me, and really the only rivals are the NES and PS1 and possibly the Genesis. 10/10

More like idiot savant but I'll take it lol. Anyway, I did clear Zanac Neo on very hard (and normal too). Once you figure out how to abuse the invulnerability from picking up items the game becomes a lot easier. Video is in my post if anyone cares.

I like it much more than most of the Zelda series, which at this point isn't really saying much considering how awful things would become. Still, this is one of the good ones that was made back when nintendo didn't give a fuck about pissing people off with a real challenge. 7/10.

Thank you. Why the hell can't more people just be honest and say this and move on instead of trying to invent a bunch of ridiculous bullshit. Also I think for most it is more more a lack of willingness to put in the time it takes to actually get good than not possessing the skills (or time) to do it. Unless you have some sort of extreme disability most of this stuff is possible for nearly everyone who is willing to dedicate themselves to it.

We are still talking about what constitutes a legit playthrough correct? How does the amount of time someone has available have any relevance to that conversation at all? The run is either legit or not.

1). Liquid's evil arm is a fucking retcon, it was 100% originally intended that it was literally liquid snake taking over the body of Ocelot. How can Ocelot be "acting" and somehow mimic his voice 100% perfectly? It's literally the same actor that does liquid snake does the voice when the stupid evil arm takes him over. It's fucking stupid and you know it, and even Kojima knew it was fucking stupid that's why they retconned it away with "oh he was just acting". 2). The ending of Metal Gear Solid 2 specifically says that the Patriots died 100 years ago. I was going off of memory when I made this statement so I figured I probably just remembered it wrong but I just went back and rewatched the ending of MGS2. Snake specifically calls them the patriots ("Did you find the Patriots' List?") if you want the exact quote) and Otacon tells him they are all dead and died 100 years ago. All of this is accompanied by a "shocking" music motif when he says it. So yeah, another stupid Kojima retcon. The first Metal Gear Solid had a pretty compelling story but Kojima had to fill up the sequels with a bunch of self-indulgent horseshit and plots that went nowhere or made no sense.

Unfortunately I cannot simply ignore the story when it is such a prominent part of this series, and indeed takes up far, far more time that the actual game does. If I could somehow divorce the first MGS from the rest of the bullshit that followed it I would rate it quite highly, probably an 8/10. As it stands I'd be more likely to rank it a 5 or 6 based on the fact I will likely never play it again. Also, it's hard for me to look at the first MSG in isolation now that the "full story" has been told and how stupid and ridiculous everything becomes. You can only introduce so many retcons and bullshit explanations for everything before I stop caring, and the second game by itself had already surpassed that. Just some of the stupidity I remember from the second game alone: Otacon and his creepy relationship with his step mom. Like seriously, what the fuck was the point of all that? Ocelot having "Liquid's evil arm" grafted onto his body, something which takes over his entire body and even makes him sound exactly like Liquid Snake. The ending where they reveal the patriots died 100 years ago or whatever? Did they ever even address this or just brush it under the rug with a retcon? I did like the ending of MGS4 with Snake and Big Boss, despite it making absolutely no sense at all. The confrontation between the them was probably the only highlight of that entire game, and if the series had more of those moments and less "Liquid's evil arm" and "Big boss is a fraud" type bullshit those games could have been good. If they had just let it die there the series would have went out on a very high note with that ending, but they decided to dabble in more trash with that Raiden spinoff game and the Phantom Fraud.

Hmm, played through it once back in the day and really enjoyed it, haven't touched it since and really have no desire to. The series really went off the rails storywise with MGS2 and that combined with Kojima's constant bullshit and trolling of the fans really alienated me from the series. Everyone loves Snake so I'm gonna fuck with them and make you play as this whiny bitch Raiden instead. Oh you didn't like that, ok you can play as Snake now in MGS3, except no, it's actually not Snake it's Big Boss. So you still want to play as Snake even though these games are getting dumber and dumber by the minute? Ok fine, you can play as Snake...except he's super old now and basically a completely different character. Oh so you actually really liked playing as Big Boss in 3? Ok we can go back to that except it's not actually big boss it's some fucking random guy in the beginning that magically looks and talks exactly like him. Kojima is a hack.

I'm really starting to go in the direction that the Wii U is the worst console of all time. Even with garbage tier consoles like the N64 and even the original Wii, there are still maybe 2 or 3 games that I would consider playing. The same cannot be said of the Wii U. And even all of the "good" (not my words) games on the Wii U are being ported or are already on other platforms. Seriously, what the fuck is left other than a disastrous attempt to merge tablet gaming with console gaming? Who the hell ever asked for that in the first place? Say what you want about the Wii (it sucks, one of the worst systems ever made) but at least it sold like crazy to people who didn't know any better. You fooled them all the first time, but even people that slurp up whatever Nintendo puts in front of them turned their nose to this turd.

Honestly I think I'd rather play the 64 than this shit. 1/10.

Never played them other than 3 and vice city. They were fun for seeing how many stars you could get and stealing tanks. But playing the missions was just dull and pointless.

I actually have much more respect for people that just use save states instead of continues because they (at least 99% of them) at least admit they aren't playing the game for real.

How can you say you've beaten the game when the game itself straight up tells you that you lost? What the fuck is not clear about "game over"?

1) Continues are nothing more than a poor man's save state. If you have to rely on either of these in your run then you really don't have a clue how to actually play the game properly. What part of "game over" do you not understand? Score being reset to zero should be another clue but most people now don't understand simple concepts like this. 2) Using guides or watching replays isn't cheating either. Just like watching someone play chess isn't cheating. No outside information or research or anything you do while not actually playing the game can be considered cheating. 3) Turbo or autofire is fine, unless you want to consider all of the Japanese world record holders to be cheaters. Actual input macros or scripts are a different story and are more debatable.

Tough for me to rate it. Most of the games are unplayable trash but then I have to remind myself that things like the n64 and wii also exist and despite decades of advances in technogy are somehow far worse. 5/10.

No shockers? What about Wolf 3D being this high? For some reason I thought that had already been reviewed like 400 games ago lol. It SUCKS, the graphics are worse and less comprehensible than any N64 game by a long shot, and you know how I feel about that trash. You can barely even decipher what is happening in this version, I had to do a double take when looking up videos of it because I legit though they were like 240p, but no, it really is that awful. Generally I'm not one to mince words about game rankings but this one just feels so far out of whack I can't let it stand. Or maybe the SNES library is just that bad? I can't admit to playing even a fraction of the games Reed has, but what the fuck.

Another system that sucks and sits around never getting played. I mean it's still better than several of the trash heap Nintendo offerings (64, Wii), but is it better than the similarly dismal Gamecube? I'm not so sure, so I'm going to throw it into that same dumpster. 3/10.

I really enjoyed a few of the games on release (house of the dead, soul calibur) but it just kind of died out with a wimper. Today I'm not sure I would ever play it again, but I can't say I never would. I'm going to be generous and take pity on it because I do think it got screwed by the idiots running sega back in the late 90s. 6/10.

The n64 still sucks.
