As a sequel to chrono trigger its a complete mess, but it's not an awful game if you can disassociate it from CT. The music is legendary. 5/10.

FINALLY cleared Dodonpachi after lots of failure and frustration. This was ranked #2 on my list based on difficulty for my goals for this year so I'm feeling pretty good right now.

Even after all these years people still trying to come up with goofy and insane arguments for not including Stadium Events. There are plenty of legitimate conversations to have regarding full sets (NWC, Test carts, Sachen, Blue Chiller, etc) but fucking Stadium Events is not one of them.

Slow mo is a no go for me.

I have to say this is one of the very, very fucking few n64 games I'd consider playing.

Loved it and played it a ton (like getting all the secret items, summons, etc) back on release but never touched it again. Not sure what kind of rating that would equate to but prob 8 out of 10? What's really fuckin sad is that this is legitamently the last game bearing the name final fantasy that I would actually call great.

I think I know what happened. When you watch on youtube, sometimes it can change the video quality on the fly (ex: go from 480p -> 1080p or vice versa) depending on your connection quality, and there will always be long drops like that when it does this. I've noticed this a lot more recently, it's some sort of change they made. Sonic Wings

Where the fuck are Star Force and Last Starfighter? As far as I can tell noboy has legit beat Last Starfighter, at least not with a real video. And no, pausing over and over again to slow the game down does not count, sorry. If you want to include obscure, borderline impossible games, add El Destructor into the list.

I think it's actually quite an underrated game to be honest. Sure the graphics aren't great, and look like something from the late 90s as opposed to 2009 (when it was released), but everything else about the game is excellent. Also, it doesn't look nearly as bad when played on a real cabinet with nice monitor. Most people just can't seem to get past the graphics to see the game for what it is.

I guess you didn't get very far if you actually think there is no shooting in the game. I'm not even sure the game can be beaten without the skateboard, which requires the bowling ball, which let's you kill the damn bees. Maybe thr game can be beaten without that but I'm really not sure if it's possible. If mario had the majority of its levels auto scrolling and required you to use the fireball in order to actually beat the game then yes it would be a shmup.

No, it's the real thing, and I actually have 2 of them. The real "pcb" is just a windows xp computer but it does have a custom jvs board (cv2000xp) and black case with CAVE branding. Had to replace the motherboard in 1 of them along with a few other things to get them to work. Actually one of them still needs a new power supply since the old one died but they both work now.

Yup, once you get the bowling ball it's literally a vertical scrolling shooting game. And the cafe stage is effectively a fixed screen shooter as well.

Back to the Future is a shmup.

Cleared Deathsmiles II on the arcade PCB. It was kind of a joke as I suspected, I went from never having played it to clearing in only a few hours. Now, my score is absolute dogshit, but it's still a clear.

I finally took down DonPachi (both loops) after a long, drawn out grinding of runs. I wasn't sure if I would finish it before the end of the year but it's done, finishing a journey I started back in 2017 when I cleared the first loop for the first time. Still going to try and squeeze in Deathsmiles II before the year ends as it's supposed to be piss easy.

Listed in order of expected difficulty (Highest to lowest). No way in hell this is all possible in 1 year. How the fuck did you beat last starfighter?

I believe that marquee only came with the US version, so I'm guessing that is what he i playing. As far as DP is concerned, it really comes down to what you enjoy, as it definitely plays more like an oldschool shmup than the later games in the series. Personally I find it to be nearly worse in every way compared to DoDonPachi but DDP is also one of the best games ever made, so even a worse version of it is still a very, very good game.

Nice, nothing beats playing the real thing in a cabinet. Good luck with the 1cc.
