  1. If they were actually manufactured, I'm positive we'd have found one by now, aside from factory refurbs/one offs.
  2. Yes... but I just said after we found the first 85 one, which is at the end of the 2nd page by good vibes in Feb of 2020.
  3. Its funny because the thread is over 3 years old and you had to search for it somehow. We got the data and the thread fizzled out. And after we got the first 85 date code, all the other pics posted are from 85. Dunno where you're getting this from haha.
  4. Uh, the idea was to find proof from people opening their carts if they could find any proof using date codes if the chips were printed before Oct of 1985. Then @Goodvibes posted his cart that had the date code of 8539 that proved the chips were printed early enough that SMB1 could have been ready at the Oct launch.
  5. Thats like December of 1986, over a year away :P. Funny cuz I just watched Jeremey Parish' video about SMB 1 and he references Frank Cfaldi's article where they can't tell if SMB 1 was ready for the Oct debut. I mean, at least we know US copies were printed early enough to be included. https://www.gamedeveloper.com/business/sad-but-true-we-can-t-prove-when-super-mario-bros-came-out
  6. Depends. If's a remake of something I love, I'll get the biggest. But if its something new I think is cool, I go with standard.
  7. Nah not at all, but he was closer to some of my other friends, like a block away. My friends dad ran into him once and said it was a weird encounter but thats about it.
  8. Lives a few blocks from me. Weird all that stuff went on so close.
  9. 10. My favorite movie as a kid. Love the visuals and the music. And the game, as most people know.
  10. I had an idea similar to this, to prevent any fuckery from the buyer. I sell a 5 screw Tyson, person gets it, opens a return that its fake, sends back a fake one. Ebay sides with the buyer. So now they have your game and their money. If you were able to do that, then it would help that what you sent to the buyer was what you listed in the pics. Or have ebay list it for you with any high dollar items, so they take the pics and ship.
  11. But that exists in all types of collectables, art, cards, etc. Buyer beware. I don't have much sympathy for a collector that doesn't do their homework and gets taken for a ride because they're impulsive with their money. If they werent, a lot less fakes would get out there and it wouldn't fool anyone.
  12. Zombie Nation. I know they did it on Cinemassacres channel but as a playthru. I can't remember the details but either I was on the hunt for it when the video came out OR I got it right before the video dropped. It was already expensive but I think the price jumped about a $100 once people saw how weird and cool the game was. I think I bought my copy for $150, bought a cleaner one for $250 and sold my $150 one for $250.
  13. Interesting thread. My friend who owned a VG store had a good amount of crazy stuff but a lot of it didn't have it priced, or it wasn't in the store. Now I'm trying to think.
  14. Again, the GOAT Doom does it the best. Im talking about Doom Eternal. The game can be PUNISHINGLY difficult. But when playing, you can raise or lower the difficulty mid level if you're struggling or its too easy. Use cheats that you can find in a level? Sure! It wont prohibit you from progressing. Boss keeps killing you? They give you an option of 'sentinel' armor that you can agree or refuse to use. They put the game in your hands and allow you to play how you want to play. Want to play without any indicators on the screen? Sure, you can do that too and make the game as challenging as you want.
  15. Even tho I own a real PAL cart, and a repro with the full music, I MAY buy a physical of this depending on how it looks. Good to know!
  16. I dunno. They MAY have, but they scrapped a US release for a reason, most likely sales because they may have deemed it too tough for their target audience. While Samson, is MUCH easier. It IS in Nintendo Power as an upcoming release IIRC. It may even show a couple of levels, but I could also be thinking of "Turrican". I think they'd have kept all the artwork the same as the PAL version, but its sure cool to think what it'd look like.
  17. I would suspect because its more "kid" oriented (which is crazy considering the difficulty) means less sales + major quality game = $$. Samson they advertised in Nintendo Power!
  18. Rocky and Bullwinkle, as well as Terminator. Both made by Radical Entertainment
  19. News to me. Nice to see one of my favorite games get some love. Ive always been adamant that if this game came to the US, it would be more expensive now than Samson.
