  1. So, a classic 3 heart run essentially? Yikes... the dodging mechanics in the game are pretty easy to get used to, but that might actually be kind of challenging. Tell you what, since it probably wouldn't actually take that long to accomplish that (I could probably beat the game under those conditions in like 2 or 3 long sessions) I'll do RH's suggestion first, and then after that I'll attempt a 3 heart run. I'm probably a bit rusty at the game anyway, so the RH run would be good practice for that.
  2. Y'know what, no towers besides the first mandatory one sounds like a lot more fun than all towers. I'm in. Also, for speedrunning purposes I won't count the DLC content, since that stuff's 100% optional.
  3. Oooo, that sounds fun. And that would actually be quite different to my usual 100% runs I tend to do with games. I'm down for that. I'll also add every tower in there as well, but that's mostly because it's gonna drive me insane to not have a fully finished map. Now, assuming by dungeons we're referring to the divine beasts, are we including the one in the DLC pack, or only the four in the base game?
  4. You should play the rest of it if you ever get the chance, the final bit of the second pack is really great, and the trial of the sword can actually be quite challenging.
  5. Honestly, a second run is totally worth it to me. It allows you to kind of look at the overworld with a different perspective, now that you've beaten it once and have much more knowledge than when you first played it. I would also recommend getting the expansion pass if you never did, if you really enjoyed what the base game already had to offer, then you'd absolutely enjoy the extra little bit of content the DLC gives you. Master Mode is a fun challenge, too. If you want something actually very challenging though, try the Trial of the Sword while playing the game on Master Mode. I will admit that normally this game is pretty easy, but maaan, some rooms in Trial of the Sword will absolutely fuck you up on Master Mode.
  6. Actually, now that I think about it, let's review the terms of this. Am I doing a third 100% run just for the hell of it, or will a standard playthrough suffice for you?
  7. Yeah, it's been awhile since I last played it, so I couldn't quite articulate why I loved it, but you put it far more eloquently than I probably would've been able to.
  8. You got it man, I'll post a screenshot here in a few weeks when I beat it again
  9. Pretty much the same for me, it's my personal favorite video game of all time. Replayed it immediately once master mode came out, both runs were 100% runs, including getting all the korok seeds. Would I replay it a third time if offered? Absolutely.
  10. Definitely. Just don't expect a stereotypical war action-fest, it's definitely a character driven movie. As long as you go in to it with that in mind, it's a really good watch.
  11. Yeah, the soundtrack is great. Sixteen Hundred Men was one of my favorite tracks from the movie, really reminded me of No Time For Caution from Interstellar. And of course the scene with Wayfaring Stranger... chills.
  12. Didn't see a thread for this, so I figured I'd make one myself. For those that don't know, 1917 is a WW1-based war movie that came out about a month ago. It takes place, as you might be able to guess, in 1917. The plot is very simple: It's the middle of The Great War. Two British soldiers are tasked with delivering a message behind enemy lines to call off an attack on the retreating Germans, as the Germans are intentionally retreating to try and catch the attacking British off-guard. They are walking in to a trap. The problem with this, is that the attack is supposed to take place tomorrow morning, and they must have the message delivered before then. If they fail to deliver it in time, 1600 men will die, including the brother of one of the two soldiers. It's very simple, but not in a bad way in my opinion. As one reviewer put it, it's simple like how the plot to The Lord of the Rings is simple. It's basic, but very effective. One of the more interesting aspects of the movie is that, similar to a movie like Birdman, it's shot and edited together to look like it's all one long, continuous take. Some could view that as a bit of a gimmick, but I and a lot of other people agree that it actually added a lot to the movie. It's somewhat cliche to say this, especially about a war movie, but it being made to look like one shot really made you feel like you were there, trekking along with the two soldiers. Even beyond that very smart move to make it feel like one shot, the cinematography is excellent. This movie contains some of my personal favorite shots and set-pieces I've ever seen in a movie. There is one scene in particular in which the way it's lit just looks... otherworldly. Anyone who's seen it will know the scene I'm talking about. It goes without saying that the acting is amazing, and the writing was very clever as well. I didn't recognize either of the two actors who played the main two soldiers, but they both did amazing jobs, as did all the extras and various side characters. The score is another thing I'd like to point out as well. It reminded me of a Hans Zimmer type of score, like a swelling orchestral sound, and Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite composers, so that was absolutely a great thing. The score added tension to already tense scenes, but it was also suitably calm when it needed to be. Definitely added a lot to the experience. I'll also say that I enjoyed how the movie did nothing to glorify war, which is something I've noticed war movies are getting better and better at not doing. It definitely showed many of the horrors of war in general, and this war in particular. And, despite the fact it's a war movie, I'd definitely hesitate to call it an "action" movie. I feel like it'd probably fall more under the category of a drama, or something similar, since there actually isn't a ton of action in it. It's more dialogue and story-driven. But when there is action, it's incredibly tense. Overall, I would personally say this was easily my favorite movie of 2019 (Technically, since it had a limited release in December) and it's honestly up there as one of my favorite movies from the last decade. Definitely up there with films like Saving Private Ryan and Dunkirk, and I have no doubt it'll be remembered in a similar light to those movies. If you haven't seen this movie, it's still gonna be in theaters for a few more days, and I'd highly recommend catching it if you can. Even if you're not typically a fan of war movies, I think there may still be a lot of things you'd like about this one in particular.
  13. I won't vote since honestly I've never properly listened to any of her stuff, but I'd have to imagine it probably wouldn't be the type of thing I'd be in to, personally.
  14. I mean, to be fair, you gotta admit that was one of the best endings to a game of Werewolf ever
  15. Oh yeah i didn't even think of that, that's absolutely an option, yeah!
  16. It's been a very interesting game so far, I'd highly recommend spectating if you'd be interested, I spectated the last game, and even though I didn't participate it was still super entertaining
  17. The ones that do actually hold some value are perfectly fine to keep boxed, but I am glad to welcome you to our open-box kind
  18. Me and my family moved to Saint Louis, Missouri back in 2012 when we've lived in the Dallas area of Texas for our entire lives. Not too far, but I think that counts. Our entire extended family still lives in Texas. I personally don't miss Texas a ton, though I really like visiting it every once in awhile. Not the best place to live when you heavily dislike hot weather and love cold weather, though.
  19. OK, that makes sense, thank you for the clarification. I was just unclear on whether or not they were different sides of the same coin or different factions entirely. So it's wolf vs wolf... interesting.
  20. I was kind of second-guessing myself, wondering if I should participate since I am still intimidated by how complex this game can get despite spectating the last game... but ah hell, only one way to learn I suppose. I don't know a damn thing about wrestling, but I might as well throw my hat in the ring I suppose. I'm in. Wrestler’s Name: Gustav "Nasty" Thott Wrestling Style: Defensive/Passive Gimmick/Persona: Despite his rather aggressive sounding name, Gustav is actually quite polite and respectful to all of his opponents. He respects their abilities, and he always makes sure to shake their hand and have a quick chat with them after the match is over. Nobody knows why he has such a, dare I say, nasty name for such a respectful individual. Finishing Move: Killer Kindness Theme Music: Queen - Made In Heaven Also, I actually have a few questions about the whole Fire/Ice thing with the werewolves. Can they communicate at all? Are they all part of one faction of wolves, or are they different factions entirely? If the Ice Wolves win, do ALL wolves win, or do the Fire Wolves lose in that scenario? I'm just a bit confused about the relationship between them and how that whole thing works, forgive my ignorance.
  21. Ah, so it was you! Was getting a little worried you wouldn't reveal yourself. I definitely did like it a ton, thank you so much!
  22. Yeah, that would be pretty neat. And, uh, I wouldn't even be pushing 30 personally, but I would still absolutely see if I lived up to my own expectations for sure
  23. That is absolutely true. Being completely shattered just makes you that much stronger when you manage to put yourself back together. I'm definitely a far more mature and empathetic person now than I ever would have become had I not gone through some of the things I have. Going through something terrible makes it much easier for you to empathize and support someone who is also going through something terrible, so I suppose that's something of a silver lining in all this. Also, water is certainly a solid choice
