  1. I'll keep that in mind. I played way too much Microsoft Flight Simulator and Red Baron and X-Wing back in the day (yes I am old), so I may actually like some of them.
  2. 91.4% done by May 1 seems pretty good. I wonder if we can get to 650 before July 1. @scaryice, what do you think are the 5 hardest ones remaining that no one is actively working on? To The Earth is a game I will never beat.. That's a game for someone in their 20s with quick reflexes and no impending arthritis. Flight of the Intruder is the only 10+5 game, but TMR beat it in 6 1/2 hours, for what that's worth.
  3. The Immortal is done. This one really isn't too bad; the only two things I found tough were that freaking magic carpet and trying to outpaddle a Krakon. Still, the game is pretty forgiving with level passwords and 3 lives per try. Presumably you and Ana are bumpin uglies once you get to ground level. Ok, will start on Might n' Magic next
  4. I'm going to start on the Immortal. I'm pretty sure no one is working on Might and Magic, but it can wait for a bit.
  5. Ultima: Quest of the Avatar is done. FSTNG has served Lord British well with his powerful fist of righteousness. The tremor spell and the crossbow makes the last dungeon pretty trivial. It was fun though, so I will keep it in mind for next year. Is anyone actively working on Might and Magic? Please speak up now since I'll start it this weekend otherwise. I think this is the game that took TMR > 80 hours to complete, so it sounds pretty rough.
  6. I know you weren't trying to be rude, but it's a bit of an obnoxious position to hold. No one is going to think your win will count "more" than the rest of ours. Good luck with Wizardry II though! I started playing Quest of the Avatar today after reading the huge manual and I'm digging it so far.
  7. @guitarzombie I could probably run through the whole game again in a quarter of the time it took me now that I know what I'm doing and picked up some tricks on the way. I spent a LOT of time on a couple of levels, though.
  8. Are you still working on Ultima Exodus? I've played ADD Pool of Radiance before and would rather not slog through that again (it's a pretty fun game for a dork game though). It looks like no one has claimed Ultima Quest of the Avatar, so I will do that next.
  9. What do you mean about the recording? That's not necessary. Are you going to work on this one?
  10. Ultimate Air Combat is done. Really, really, hard, but definitely a good game.
  11. They can fight off a scout hornet with some difficulty, but a raiding party can clear out a hive (40-80K honeybees) within hours. Even regular hornets can destroy a hive.
  12. Made it to the final stage of UAC (big boss fight). Will try to finish it tomorrow.
  13. I'm taking some for the team. I may try one of the Ultima games next, though.
  14. Just got to stage 7/9 of Ultimate Air Combat. There were two nightmare missions in stage 6 that took forever to map out, and then the last one was a cakewalk.
  15. Made it to Stage 5/9 of Ultimate Air Combat. I got stuck on one mission where you have to take out 13 really thin radio towers, but I finally did it. I'm definitely getting better at both the dogfight and objective parts of each mission now.
  16. Oh man, Ultimate Ait Combate gets real hard real fast. I'm in the last stage in the second group of 4 and already getting destroyed in dogfighting.
  17. Shingen The Ruler is done. I'll give Ultimate Air Combat a try. It has passwords, so it can't be too bad.
  18. https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/136/USPS_A_Sustainable_Path_Forward_report_12-04-2018.pdf "Unfunded Liabilities and Debt The USPS’s unfunded liabilities, including retiree health benefits, workers’ compensation claims, pension benefits, and debt to the Federal Financing Bank, restrict its ability to make necessary productive investments. At the end of FY 2018, the USPS’s total unfunded liabilities and debt were $139.6billion. Table 3 shows the composition of these liabilities. The USPS did not make required payments in FY 2018for normal retiree health benefits obligations ($3.7billion) or amortized costs for retiree health benefit unfunded liabilities ($815million).89The USPS did not make required amortized payments for Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS)unfunded liabilities ($958million) or Civil Service Retirement System(CSRS)unfunded liabilities ($1.4billion).90The USPS delayed making these payments to preserve liquidity. Further, with $13.2 billion in debt owed to the Federal Financing Bank, the USPS has used most of its statutory borrowing limit of $15 billion." https://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2011/02/18/the-first-blow-against-public-employees/fdr-warned-us-about-public-sector-unions One things the USPS is proposing is to stop prefunding retiree health benefits. The benefits were required by Congress to be prefunded starting in 2006 because of the looming unfunded liability. Seems like they haven't been funded anyway recently. Undoing the prefunding is a great way to kick the can farther down the road. I think Trump's talking out of his ass about what the proper postage rate should be, but he's right that we need a real discussion on the current state of the USPS and what its true mandate should be. The Postal Clause in the Constitution gives Congress authority to regulate mail routes and designate post offices, but that in no way means we need the system as it now exists.
  19. Oh man you need a KOEI poem? Your top 10 should all be KOEI games, so I'm surprised you're playing two more already
  20. @guitarzombie - I'm intrigued about UAC. Looks like TMR beat it in about 8 hours. I'm almost done with Shingen here so I'll take up the challenge.
  21. Wall Street Kid is done. It's not difficult, just a little tedious. Enough screwing around, time for Shingen
  22. I just saw guitarzombie's reply. Well, I just beat Maniac Mansion too, so I'll leave it up to him on whether he wants to claim it or not. I guess I can work on Wall Street Kid.
  23. Actually, I'm surprised no one has beaten Maniac Mansion yet, so I will take care of that this evening. I assume no one is clamoring to play Shingen
  24. Break Time is done. I forgot how unforgiving this game is, but at least it has passwords. I got really lucky against the last opponent and beat him on my second try, versus at least 30 tries for the guy before him. I think that's the last billiards game for this year. Will work on Shingen next.
  25. L'Empereur is done. That's the last of the Koei block. I'll get to Shingen soon, but I'll work on Break Time first. I beat it a few years ago and remember it was tough, but not excessively so.
