    I can get to L'Empereur in early December. I'm going to block out time during the long weekend to grind out Motor City Patrol. Sounds like if I ever get a L'Empereur cart, first thing I'll do is change the battery

    @nerdynebraskan@scaryice I've been working on Motor City Patrol too. I'm happy to give it up though, so let me know. I'm going to start L'Empereur on Dec 1 if it's not beaten by then. I _could_ beat Bill & Ted again, but really don't want to. Is Wizards & Warriors III hard or just bad? I played around with it a little a while back, but not seriously.

    Agree with @fox... If you have a BA and took some applicable coursework, then the admissions advisor sounds spot on. Do you know why you're going to grad school and what you're going to do with the degree? Have you done some relative cost / benefit Net Present Value calculations of the outlay for grad school tuition vs. estimated incremental increase of salary over your expected career?

    I guess no one wants to play the last Ultima game? I can work on it this week. L'Empereur has come up a few times, but no one has mentioned Genghis Khan. Since it's almost November now, I will do it if no one else has any interest

    zoiks, I guarantee I can evaluate an insurance company's stock and their financial condition better than you can. I don't invest in industries I don't understand unless I'm just dicking around with a few grand. I think most people here are just talking about what they're investing in or generally shooting the shit. Feel free to add to the discussion with some detailed analysis if you want, but there are plenty of other forums to discuss stock valuation if you aren't happy here.

    The EPA's website says 10% from all agricultural production, of which livestock is just a small part and includes much more than cows. Still, I'll have some chicken later to give the cows a break

    I've increased my liquidity significantly in light of the Evergrande crisis. There seems to be a consensus among their and our elite "intellectual" "expert" class that their gov't can contain the contagion and is being totally honest about it... Sound familiar? It's a good time to rebalance anyway, so I'll sit tight for a few weeks and see how big of a shitstorm it's going to be.

    Going from Gaithersburg to anywhere in VA during rush hour is a nightmare.

    I'm never going back to an office again for more than just a visit. Our office switched to an open office setup a few months before SHTF in order to "foster collaboration." I can say my team is working much more closely together now than we ever did in that nightmare. I got my boss to agree to me going remote full time. I don't need work friends. They're not really my friends, just acquaintances. I've become fully feral and can't go back that office BS.

    Someone has posted 17 out of 18 of the episodes on YT in the last 3 months. I just used Jdownloader2 to download them all to my computer since there's no telling when someone will notice and take them down. I remember watching a few of the episodes back when it was first on. Alison LaPlaca was the queen of the sitcoms back in the early 90s and I had a big crush on her. She is in Madhouse too, which is a fun but forgettable movie.
