Playing QIX i can actually make a full second unseparated line on the GBC wich i don't manage on other systems. Like if you go rightwards to the side, up, then leftwards creating a full double line - i can't do that with brick because the d-pad is bigger and stiffer. Can't do it on GBA either, that one too will leave space and be less precise in general. There is also this game Batman: return of the joker where a boss is shooting baseball balls at you and you have to duck, move forward, duck closing in on the space. With GBC Batman slides leaps ahead but with GB he comes forward much smaller steps, because the command takes more to input because of the finger moving across the big size of the GB and it requiring more to pressure down.

Ok i see. I guess they'll have to die of age in that case because if some predator does them in that shell will have been cracked apart. But don't you think they're protected from the pet trade rather than the shells? Or perhaps it's a delicacy somewhere you know like those shark fins. I very much doubt there is a shell trade specifically.

Don't they outgrow the shell naturally? Maybe that's how they're being acquired. I don't know about any community collecting them but maybe they do. Wouldn't the illegal market revolve around the exotic pet trade if anything?

Maybe i'm weird or something i don't know but with a ton of used controllers in particular i experience unintentional commands on the d-pad. When you press down and he goes forward is the typical one.

Strictly speaking "cheating" is using an action outside the gameplay mechanics and since SMB 3 allows these things, it doesn't qualify. If you beat the game you've beaten it. Yeah but how you use it doesn't change what it does. Even if you go back to where you would've been anyway that's still only because you choose to do so and not a part of the gameplay mechanic itself wich is allowing worlds to be skipped. You can use savestates on an emulator not because you can't reach that level again but rather out of laziness to do so but that doesn't change the fact that a savestate is cheating. You're continuing when it should've been game over that's the bottom line.

Technically speaking - yes you're right. But in practise if you're skipping levels that's about as "cheaty" as you can ever get in all but namesake.

Could you specify? I think the flute and cloud are sort of cheating because you're skipping out on playing altogether, the P is somewhat similar. The other items and suits are not the same because you're still playing the levels but with some different abilities.

It isn't so much the monochrome screen as the ghosting effect and lack of shades that render the GB unplayable. As i see it the og game boy experience starts at GBC where you will still see the motions on the screen without it getting blurry and detail heavy games like DKL 1-3 you'll see where you are compared to the vegetation in the background, on og GB it's all a big mush. What the GBC offered in monochrome gameplay should've been where the GB generation started they fucked around way too long with the subpar turd versions GB, GBP, GBL.

Well i've not even been able to play properly with many old controllers at all so i'd go with new.
