  1. I agree it looks like 5th gen graphics, but it doesn't look like a building to me. It looks more like a robot wearing a backpack.
  2. Smaller community, but also smaller library. Also that smaller community is pretty dedicated (radicalized), so I would expect they can get everything working that they want to.
  3. I've never bothered with the jailbreaking of previous Analogue products because I've always just used my Everdrives, and I've never had any interest in running games from other systems, but I might look into it for the Duo, because I would rather not take the cover off my Turbo Everdrive.
  4. I've heard about this before, but I never really paid much attention to it. But it's funny that you bring it up because the other night I played through SMB3 for the first time in a few years, and decided to play every single level. I played through all 8 worlds, and completed every level including any level that could be skipped and every bonus round possible, and I did this in a single night. I was actually a little surprised how often I didn't win the roulette game, and several times, I could notice the delay in the wheel stopping. Having enough extra lives was never really a concern in this game, so I never really noticed or cared how often I didn't win this game. However, once you start to pay attention, it's easier to notice.
  5. I wish I could open my NES and SNES again for the first time. I love these pictures.
  6. Out of the first 4 Die Hard movies (the only ones I'm familiar with), it's probably the weakest, but it's still a pretty decent movie. I have a lot of good memories watching this movie on TV and laughing at the dubbing over the swear words.
  7. I just got a shipping notification for a game I pre-ordered in September. This will probably be the fastest I've received a game from them in a very long time.
  8. I can't believe it, but I finally managed to complete the very last challenge and get everything. I think this might be the first Mario game I've "100%" since Super Mario World.
  9. I finished Super Mario Wonder last night. I made it a point to try to "100%" each level as I went through, so even if I finished a level, I went back through it until I completed everything and got the checkmark. I did this for all levels outside of the Special World. But now that I'm done with the main part of the game, I've started to go through those levels. So as of right now, I have two medals. One for finishing the game, and one for getting all of the standees. I have three levels remaining in the Special World to complete. I'm fairly confident that I will be able to complete two of these levels, but I'm not sure if I have to skills to get the final test. It seems like in recent years, every Mario themed game has had at least one level or challenge that I've been unable to complete. Odyssey had one moon I couldn't get. 3D World had one level I couldn't complete. Treasure Tracker had one challenge I wasn't able to do. I'll give it a try, but I have my doubts going into it. It's crazy to think that one single level in Wonder can prevent you from acquiring three of the medals. Overall, I enjoyed Wonder even if the main part of the game was probably the easiest Mario game since Super Mario World. I loved the style and look of the game. The controls were very tight and responsive, which I can't say about recent 3D Mario games. My biggest complaint would probably be the lack of bosses throughout the game. The final boss was a lot of fun, but also easy. I managed to get through it on the first try. It's a fun game and I highly recommend it, but I don't see as much replay value as I've seen in older 2D Mario games.
  10. I've often felt guilty about it and considered selling a large chunk. Realistically, I would probably live with 20% of my collection and still enjoy myself for some time. However, it's tough because I actually play my games a lot. I think it's fair to say that every console gets turned on once a year, or once every two years at worst. So I can't bring myself to get rid of anything just yet. With that said, if I had something worth $10k, I think I could and would easily part with it.
  11. Many years ago, I picked up a huge lot of CIB Atari 5200 games, and the boxes were in absolute perfect condition. It came from a lot of games turned into a pawn shop after someone died. To this day, I don't really have much of a desire to keep them, but I also can't bring myself to get rid of them.
  12. Not sure how I missed this one. All ones for me. Pretty easy picks, although, I enjoy just about everything on the list this time. Also, Eye of the Tiger is the song my wife and I entered with for our wedding reception.
  13. I've been playing Super Mario Wonder since we gave it to my son for his birthday a few weeks ago. I've been playing a small amount each evening, and I have to say that I've really been enjoying it. The basic formula has been pretty predictable, but I'm still finding myself wanting to play again the next night. I'm also enjoying trying to get the checkmark for each level. I've completed one level from the Special World, but I'll probably save the rest of those until after I complete the game. Two worlds to go and I'm curious to see how this game wraps up.
  14. It's also worth mentioning that this game has some of the best track design and music of any Mario Kart game. All of my favorite courses in MK8D are based on courses from Super Mario Kart.
  15. I also wanted to give it a 10, but later releases of Mario Kart have done it better. But it's very easy to give it a 9. I played this so much back when it was new and I have so many good memories. I think it has aged better than Mario Kart 64 which I sort of have a difficult time playing now. I'm not nearly as good at Super Mario Kart as I was years ago, but I can still play it well and have fun with it today.
  16. I've seen everything except Piranha II and the Avatar movies. Obviously Terminator 2 is going to be my favorite considering it's one of the greatest action movies ever made, but I also have a lot of respect for Titanic for making the history of the ship popular. I had a huge obsession with the Titanic as a kid long before the blockbuster movie came out, so I was really interested in his vision of the movie, even if I wasn't super interested in the love story aspect of it.
  17. On a similar note, I just picked up the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. The original MGS includes the Integral version that was originally only released in Japan. This version includes a "very easy" difficulty which is the same as easy, but it includes a silenced MP5 with unlimited ammo. That weapon alone essentially allows you to go through the game and not worry about sneaking around enemies since you can kill them all silently without any alerts. I read that it was designed for someone who was more interested in the story than playing the game.
  18. She was already rich, so something that turns lead into gold was meaningless for her. In the original game, she specifically states that she only does it "for the sport." So her motivation is the hunt itself, not the actual item.
