  1. Out of the first 4 Die Hard movies (the only ones I'm familiar with), it's probably the weakest, but it's still a pretty decent movie. I have a lot of good memories watching this movie on TV and laughing at the dubbing over the swear words.
  2. I just got a shipping notification for a game I pre-ordered in September. This will probably be the fastest I've received a game from them in a very long time.
  3. I can't believe it, but I finally managed to complete the very last challenge and get everything. I think this might be the first Mario game I've "100%" since Super Mario World.
  4. I finished Super Mario Wonder last night. I made it a point to try to "100%" each level as I went through, so even if I finished a level, I went back through it until I completed everything and got the checkmark. I did this for all levels outside of the Special World. But now that I'm done with the main part of the game, I've started to go through those levels. So as of right now, I have two medals. One for finishing the game, and one for getting all of the standees. I have three levels remaining in the Special World to complete. I'm fairly confident that I will be able to complete two of these levels, but I'm not sure if I have to skills to get the final test. It seems like in recent years, every Mario themed game has had at least one level or challenge that I've been unable to complete. Odyssey had one moon I couldn't get. 3D World had one level I couldn't complete. Treasure Tracker had one challenge I wasn't able to do. I'll give it a try, but I have my doubts going into it. It's crazy to think that one single level in Wonder can prevent you from acquiring three of the medals. Overall, I enjoyed Wonder even if the main part of the game was probably the easiest Mario game since Super Mario World. I loved the style and look of the game. The controls were very tight and responsive, which I can't say about recent 3D Mario games. My biggest complaint would probably be the lack of bosses throughout the game. The final boss was a lot of fun, but also easy. I managed to get through it on the first try. It's a fun game and I highly recommend it, but I don't see as much replay value as I've seen in older 2D Mario games.
  5. I've often felt guilty about it and considered selling a large chunk. Realistically, I would probably live with 20% of my collection and still enjoy myself for some time. However, it's tough because I actually play my games a lot. I think it's fair to say that every console gets turned on once a year, or once every two years at worst. So I can't bring myself to get rid of anything just yet. With that said, if I had something worth $10k, I think I could and would easily part with it.
  6. Many years ago, I picked up a huge lot of CIB Atari 5200 games, and the boxes were in absolute perfect condition. It came from a lot of games turned into a pawn shop after someone died. To this day, I don't really have much of a desire to keep them, but I also can't bring myself to get rid of them.
  7. Not sure how I missed this one. All ones for me. Pretty easy picks, although, I enjoy just about everything on the list this time. Also, Eye of the Tiger is the song my wife and I entered with for our wedding reception.
  8. I've been playing Super Mario Wonder since we gave it to my son for his birthday a few weeks ago. I've been playing a small amount each evening, and I have to say that I've really been enjoying it. The basic formula has been pretty predictable, but I'm still finding myself wanting to play again the next night. I'm also enjoying trying to get the checkmark for each level. I've completed one level from the Special World, but I'll probably save the rest of those until after I complete the game. Two worlds to go and I'm curious to see how this game wraps up.
  9. It's also worth mentioning that this game has some of the best track design and music of any Mario Kart game. All of my favorite courses in MK8D are based on courses from Super Mario Kart.
  10. I also wanted to give it a 10, but later releases of Mario Kart have done it better. But it's very easy to give it a 9. I played this so much back when it was new and I have so many good memories. I think it has aged better than Mario Kart 64 which I sort of have a difficult time playing now. I'm not nearly as good at Super Mario Kart as I was years ago, but I can still play it well and have fun with it today.
  11. I've seen everything except Piranha II and the Avatar movies. Obviously Terminator 2 is going to be my favorite considering it's one of the greatest action movies ever made, but I also have a lot of respect for Titanic for making the history of the ship popular. I had a huge obsession with the Titanic as a kid long before the blockbuster movie came out, so I was really interested in his vision of the movie, even if I wasn't super interested in the love story aspect of it.
  12. On a similar note, I just picked up the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. The original MGS includes the Integral version that was originally only released in Japan. This version includes a "very easy" difficulty which is the same as easy, but it includes a silenced MP5 with unlimited ammo. That weapon alone essentially allows you to go through the game and not worry about sneaking around enemies since you can kill them all silently without any alerts. I read that it was designed for someone who was more interested in the story than playing the game.
  13. She was already rich, so something that turns lead into gold was meaningless for her. In the original game, she specifically states that she only does it "for the sport." So her motivation is the hunt itself, not the actual item.
  14. This isn't an interesting death as much as an interesting game over, but in Metal Gear Solid 3, you can end the game by killing Ocelot and creating a time paradox. Of course one of my favorite kills of all time is touching Midas' hand in the original Tomb Raider (Anniversary as well).
  15. First and most important, I play games to relax, relieve stress and have fun. If I enjoy the game enough, and I'm good enough at it, I will play to beat the game (that's what I consider the "win" in regards to this thread). If I'm still enjoying the game and want more, I will play to complete the game. Sometimes I may take it a step further and try to beat it with certain restrictions, such as no deaths or as fast as possible, but that type of playing is rare for me. Priority list: Fun (enjoyment) Win (beat the game) Complete (100%)
  16. I never got into any of the Batman games during this era, but I always wanted to try them.
  17. First one was difficult. Second one was easy. The third and fourth ones I had to use a Google coin flip to decide. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  18. My youngest son was asking me about VR and what it was like. When I showed the goggles to him, he noticed all of the other video game controllers I keep in the same bin. I have two bins that sort of act as "bulk" video game controller storage that doesn't fit in the drawers with my normal controllers. One bin has all PlayStation stuff (VR goggles, PS1 dual flight stick, PS1 arcade stick, ect.). The other bin has Nintendo stuff (ROB, Super Scope Six, NES running pad, and DK bongos). My son was really interested in the DK bongos and wanted to know what they were for. I showed him DK Konga 1 & 2 and DK Jungle Beat. He fell in love with all of those games and has been playing them almost every day for almost a week now. He isn't very good at the Konga games, but he is getting pretty far in Jungle Beat almost completely on his own. Both of my kinds love video games, but they play almost entirely modern stuff on the Switch or PC. But it's pretty awesome when they find something that they can enjoy from one of the older consoles. My 7 year old has used my GameCube more in the past week than I have in the past year.
  19. I've only seen Signs and The Sixth Sense. I didn't really care for The Sixth Senses. I enjoyed the ending to Signs, but I didn't feel it was worth watching the rest of the movie just for the ending. I haven't really had much of a desire to watch anything else from the list.
