  1. This was fall 2010, I went back to this same guy a few days later and bought all the games he had. Including the Metroid and a few other sealed items.
  2. Curious which source code discs you got. I purchased a few directly from Brenda like 10 years ago. Along with numerous other Wisdom Trees items.
  3. To this very day, this deal was my most epic and fondly remembered. I don't think it will ever be topped, I honestly hope it does but I doubt it with the way things are now. It all began as I was sitting in the lunchroom at work, just about to start my night shift. It was beautify fall evening and as usual, I was browsing Kijiji. I saw the ad pop up at about 7:20pm and my shift begun at 7:30pm. I was in disbelief at the sight of this glorious ad, I also was doubtful I could actually snag it. Let’s just say it was for a whole lot of minty NES CIBs and Factory Sealed games. Jumping out of my chair would be an understatement for what I did, it was more like I rocketed to the ceiling!!! I quickly ran to the parking lot, hopped in a work truck and lay down in back so no one could see me. I couldn’t be bothered with work at that moment. Instead of emailing and risking someone else to slip in, I called the number on the ad and I offered to buy them all immediately. We chatted a bit and then we worked out a deal for the whole lot. I had enough balls to actually suggest a discount if I bought them all and he shockingly agreed. We agreed to do the deal early the next morning after my shift ended at 7:30am. “Will this deal actually go down?” "Did he sell them to someone else??!?" My mind was racing all night with crazy thoughts. Needless to say, it was the longest shift of my life. Luckily, the location was very close to my house but even better, it was just down the street from my childhood Elementary school. This was going to be a mega nostalgic deal I thought to myself. The apartment was on the same street I walked up and down countless times heading to Dairy Queen and 7-Eleven as a kid. The 7-11 had a few arcades and pinballs machines, as was a popular hangout for all the kids and teens. Those were the epic Street Fighter 2 days. The moment of truth finally came on that cool sunny morning. I drove there directly from work, half-excited and half-nervous. Once I arrived, I walked up to the door and rung the buzzer. The door un-locked with a pop and walked in and up to their apartment door. A guy my age and slightly bigger than myself opened the door and let me in. Normal enough looking apartment, I thought as I entered. His girlfriend/wife/spouse/lover/baby Mama/whatever was playing World of Warcraft while holding a baby. Okay cool cool, so far so good. He grabbed the old cardboard box and brought it to the kitchen table. I walked over to inspect the goods. I was hoping to do a quick once over and get out of there. This is where things went a bit, awry. Out of nowhere, he grabs Ironsword out of the box and chucks against the kitchen wall and then Fabio's face plops down on the kitchen table! It scared the living daylights right out of me. "That game sucks!!!" he exclaimed In complete shock, I stood just there not wanting make a fuss. I had to play it cool since I could not jeopardize this deal no matter what! He then proceeded to take every single game out of the box and give his full review on the game. Painfully one by one…. "This one sucks too" "I played this one last night, its okay" On and on it went as I kept my mouth shut, nodding along hoping he would not throw any more game at the kitchen wall. Then out nowhere, without myself noticing the girl gets right up in my face showing off a sealed Metroid they also had for sale. "I bet you want this, ha ha ha!" (I did in fact want it. I wanted it very bad) I now had this girl in my face while the guy was giving me shit. "You are just gonna sell these aren't you!?" "These are worth more then what I am selling them for you know!" “Why do you want them!” “I shouldn’t be selling these to you!” I just put on a smile and deflected what I could as the scrutiny continued. It was a very intense environment. I just wanted the loot so I could get the heck outta there. I had pulled the cash out of my pocket and held it in my hand attempting to end this madness. He must have taken the hint because it worked. I paid with a smile. I gathered up all the games on the table including poor Fabio and darted out the door. This was very early on in my collecting, before this I was more of a casual collector. Meaning, I was “collecting” games my whole life but getting them for free or dirt cheap but not like this. I never I will never forgot my first feelings of doubt and semi guilt. I had just dropped some "huge" money for the times, on old Nintendo games. What was I thinking? Those feeling very quickly dissipated as I glanced over to that old brown cardboard box full of glorious NES boxes. Might as well have been a treasure chest of rare sparkling gems. I had a wonderful victory drive down memory lane blasting NES music as I went.
  4. I would have to agree on Ganon from OOT, the first time playing that was beyond epic.
  5. Without putting to much thought into it, I really loved the Boss Anchortus in Mega Man Zero. It was very difficult but worth the stress.
  6. Edit - I hope resurrecting old threads is not frowned upon here, let know if it is. I love this list, I was going to make a thread myself on the topic but happy to have found one already. 7. Thanks man. I still got a ways to go yet. I needed to fix the floor where the old shelf sat. It was a little time consuming and a bit of a challenge since I only have a hand saw ha ha. Had to cut 3/4” thin pieces to slot in the holes. Still need a little more work before this part is done.
  8. It is "out of the box" thinking man!
  9. This is a very interesting take on this topic. I never thought of it that way.
  10. Added! Definitely a place I have wanted to visit for a while
  11. Second coat of paint complete! Not a massive update but I’m done with the painting! I am not a painter ha ha.
  12. Well to be perfectly honest, I have played N64 maybe 10 times in the past 15 years or so. So a lot of my memories are from back in the late 90s and I loved CV. I beat it on every difficulty which is like 6 times. I even beat it start to finish one evening while my younger cousin watched. I just wanted to show him the music when you enter the Castle Wall, but got carried away and beat it. Epic night. I have never done that with any other game. I am also a massive CV fan. It is by far my favorite franchise and has been since I seen Simons Quest when I was 5. So I am very bias.
  13. Ranking CV games is like ranking your children! This would be extremely hard for me ha ha. Castlevania on N64 was/is my favorite game on the system! Plus, I got addicted to Castlevania Judgement on Wii a few months ago and loved it. So I think I'm too much of a fanboy to rank them.
  14. Ha! Glad to see my info/photo of Flying Warriors is in the database! Here is the info for Ironsword. I opened this one personally and have included the original picture right after the seal was cracked. This is the same photo I posted on NA way back when. ( check out my blog this Friday for the story on how I got this GEM, it might explain the condition ha ha) Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors II - Cartridge (NES-IR-USA) - Box (NES-IR-USA) - Manual (NES-IR-USA) - Ironsword Poster (ACL-IR-US) - Registration Card (ACL-NES-US-4) - Nintendo Power Subscription Card (PMG-QU-USA) - Flat Black Dust Sleeve NOTE - @Trifectaif you need a better, updated photo let me know and I can take one tonight for the database.
  15. Well if we are talking OBSCURE it would have to be these Nintendo Pepsi signs. I have had these for a while now. I traded 2 of the big signs away and 1 of the smaller boxes. I still have 1 spare big sign and a few smaller boxes stashed away. Sign is 6’10-1/2” x 5’ 3” made of fluted polypropylene ALMOST 7 FEET TALL!!!! I was shocked at the massiveness of these lol The Mario measures 14” The Mario on Yoshi measures 16” There are 2 different versions of the sign A and B with the Mario’s and Pepsi cans flipped Both Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Canada are printed on the bottom Dated 1992 As you can see from the pictures, I had to get creative and mount these on the ceiling since they are so huge. I didn't have any wall space large enough for them. I think they are gorgeous with their beautiful bright popping colors. Sign is 28” x 17” These fold into a box double sided with the same image on both sides Both Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Canada are printed on the bottom Dated 1995
  16. I have a number of items I would consider for this but one of my favourite grails would have to be this Gameboy Castlevania 2 Belmont's Revenge cel. These were made and used as apart of box art process. Was very fortunate and lucky to be able to get this. Especially since I love Castlevania.
  17. Yeah I hear you about going in, I went to Rockstar North studio when I was in Edinburgh Scotland in 2019. I didn't go inside but I got photos outside.
  18. Hard to decide on an all time favorite CV game. So I will just say the "fresh in the mind" favorite, Order of Ecclesia for DS. I just loved the traveling around and the town Hub. Btw Awesome pickup on Rex, I still need that one!
  19. In many hobbies/interests, there are places all around the world that hold a certain significance for one reason or another. Some examples come to mind like; music venues, sports arenas, museums, shopping locations, gravesites, just to name a few. I thought it would be an interesting idea to make a sharable map, assuming it has not been done before. I personally love to travel, so my mind often drifts to places I would love to go one day. It got me thinking that there must be numerous locations across the world that are significant and worth the effort to travel to that are video game related. To help get the ball rolling we should consider the following - Historical significance (Ex. Original Nintendo Headquarters) - Shopping (Ex. Video Game Stores) - Museums (Ex. The Strong National Museum of Play) - Entertainment Venues (Ex. Funspot, the worlds largest Arcade) - Other When suggesting a location to add, please write why it is significant just to give context. Obviously, someone can Google places but are they really worth traveling to??? The forum input is pivotal to this Map. I have made a very small list to start with and the Map will always be a work in progress. 20. First coat of paint complete! I will be installed custom shelves to accommodate the growing collection. I am loving this since it is like an extension of the game room
  21. I believe that every collectors deep down desire is in fact, more shelf space! Ever since I started collecting my game room have always been evolving. Always trying to squeeze out a spot for a few more games. Having a family that I share a house with, I have to be creative to say the least. The idea to redo my closet was inspired by the Stop Skeletons From Fighting podcast #59. Derek and Grace talked about removing closet doors from the closet because it’s a freeing experience. I got me thinking. So I got to work and I’d like to share the journey To date I have cleaned it out, fixed the walls, sanded and washed them. Ready for paint! More to come! Before, the overflow is real…
  22. Here is my last purchase. My ongoing collector goal of collecting every single Castlevania release.
  23. Well from reading all the replies I think I am in the right spot ha ha. I think I need to get off Social Media in general. I don’t have any friends on Facebook or followers in Twitter, I just used them for nerd news and FB groups. So it’s not going to be a big deal. All the replies inspired me to further my involvement here.
