  1. Been meaning to read this for a long time, and finally a beautiful illustrated edition came out - YUP, I'm the type of guy that wants pictures in my books https://shop.suntup.press/products/johnny-got-his-gun-by-dalton-trumbo-artist-edition To bad certain low-level dictators in the former Soviet Union never read this...
  2. Russian climate official apologizes for Ukraine invasion https://www.yahoo.com/news/russian-official-apologizes-for-ukraine-invasion-at-ipcc-meeting-201410559.html The leader of the Russian delegation at an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) conference on Sunday apologized ..."Let me present an apology on behalf of all Russians not able to prevent this conflict," Russia's Oleg Anisimov reportedly said at the closing plenary meeting. Those who see what is happening "fail to find any justification for the attack on Ukraine," he added. In other news, Putin announced he is looking for someone to lead the Russian delegation on climate change! Seriously, stay safe Oleg Anisimov.
  3. At any rate, we're NOT on the brink of Ukraine collapsing https://www.cnn.com/europe/live-news/ukraine-russia-news-02-27-22/index.html CNN has geolocated and verified the authenticity of the videos. The first video, taken by a resident, shows a convoy of Russian troops surrounding military vehicles, creeping along a roadway that ends near the airfield. A Reuters journalist was at the location after the firefight and took video that showed one of the Russian military convoy vehicles abandoned and a significant amount of blood staining the snow on the ground. Their efforts to retreat appear to have been stopped by another attack. A convoy of vehicles — the same type — is seen on fire in another video. "And that's how we meet the b**** Russian army," someone is heard shouting in the video. "That's how it's going to be for each of them who come to our Kharkiv land."
  4. As wonderful as that would be, I don't believe that's going to happen. Putin still has very high approval rating in Russia. Along with suppression of the press and speech, he maintains a tight grip on the country, and he's a megalomaniac. The only real option I see for change is either a coup, which of course is unlikely although not impossible. More than likely, we need to wait until he dies before there's any (if any) real change.
  5. Cool, you aiming for a complete set of DS with variants too?
  6. Hey @MiamiSlice I'm really curious how much you paid for the SNK Anniversary collector's edition? I know that has reached insane prices, although there's a guy on ebay selling the NTSC version for $120 sealed, which is indeed a great price If you don't want to blurt out the price you can send me a message, or not! No worries either way, as I said, I'm curious...
  7. https://theweek.com/supreme-court/1010645/ketanji-brown-jackson-was-a-public-defender-thats-good-but-itll-make Even now, for many of us, there is a sense that what is happening is happening over there. But The Day After remains a reminder that in a world where missiles can carry unthinkable destruction around the world within minutes, that's not entirely true. You don't have to be directly threatened by the violence in Ukraine to fear what might happen next.
  8. Wise words indeed from a protester who was arrested because there's no freedom of speech in the Soviet Union Russia...
  9. Okay, to be fair, as someone that has traveled to quite a few other countries, I want to say that hygiene in the USA is MUCH MUCH better than most other countries! That doesn't change the fact that we still have to deal with people such as Tucker Carlson, but at least we do so with clean hands and rears
  10. The invasion of Ukraine by dictator Putin is NOT funny! It's terrible and a crime against humanity. Still, I can't lie, I found this funny (forgive me)
  11. I suppose we might be on the brink of Arma IV... https://kotaku.com/ukraine-invasion-war-russia-arma-3-iii-bohemia-video-ga-1848591313 Like I said, this isn’t the first time ArmA III footage has been misused in a time of crisis. Russian news was caught using it for a story on Syria in 2018 and tried passing it off as a “human error”, though Russian use of video game footage in 2017 to allege the US was supporting ISIS didn’t help their case.
  12. Is it confirmed it actually sold for that amount? It would honestly not surprise me if this is just one (or a couple) of people playing pranks, or perhaps worse, purposely trying to drive up the market price.
  13. https://www.cnn.com/europe/live-news/ukraine-russia-news-02-24-22-intl/h_ad7e103d301f349a5c88f77627e20317 The only thing I find "funny" is the people who thought this wasn't going to happen or that the Cold War ended!
  14. Hey big boy - is that a crossbow in your trousers or...nope, it's a crossbow! https://www.yahoo.com/news/shopper-recorded-shoving-crossbow-sweatpants-215730364.html “You just can’t make this stuff up!” the sheriff added.
  15. It's time to admit it: Mitt Romney was right about Russia https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/22/politics/mitt-romney-russia-ukraine/index.html "Russia, this is, without question, our number one geopolitical foe," Romney, who would be the Republican presidential nominee in the 2012 race against President Barack Obama, told Wolf Blitzer in March of that year. "They — they fight every cause for the world's worst actors." ...Obama went directly after Romney for that remark. "When you were asked, 'What's the biggest geopolitical threat facing America,' you said 'Russia.' Not al Qaeda; you said Russia," Obama said. "And, the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back, because the Cold War's been over for 20 years." I think China is actually not just the United States, but the West's #1 geopolitical foe. Russia is a close second, and Putin is a petty dictator. Bet Ukraine is sorry they gave up all their nuclear weapons...
  16. I wish I could purchase games and say it was "only" $1000
  17. Man gets probation for failing to return $55,000 rental vehicle https://www.yahoo.com/news/man-gets-probation-failing-return-050100423.html A Chippewa Falls man will spend three years on probation for renting a vehicle valued at $55,000 from an Eau Claire business and never returning it... A second misdemeanor count of bail jumping and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct were dismissed but considered at sentencing. That will show him! I'm sure next time he thinks about stealing something valued at around or over $50,000 he'll say "oh no! what if I get probation again?!"
