  1. My wife wouldn't sell my stuff, she'd just give it away. Double whammy.
  2. It may be for business liability insurance as well what is insured in the physical building. For example, what if an employee drops a 9.6 SMB...? Anyone received a call/reduced fees for an overvalued game? I'm guessing the answer is no.
  3. Agreed, that's a good point. I guess I would argue if that scenario arose, at least to a value close to the original estimated date. Maybe I'll send them a request for lost stock market gains (18.6%) on the my money they've had for over five months.
  4. If that happens I'll gladly pay the increased fee... which is probably the way most of us feel with the current market conditions. I'm not a huge fan of WATA's approach regarding the surge charge, or the long lead times for that matter, but there doesn't seem to be a better option to maximize value.
  5. I just sent my SMB in, won't be a high grade, so I'll see if I get a call. Good to hear that they are at least doing some due diligence before assigning values. And I am paying more to get games graded than I paid for them. Again, good problem to have.
  6. Yeah, sorry I didn't articulate my thought well. I think I did the math some time ago and seller would get about 68% of the selling price on HA. Therefore, I believe sellers keep a higher % of the final bid on CL versus HA.
  7. I may be wrong but I thought I read that HA fees are much higher than CL. As a seller CL may not be a bad alternative.
  8. Let's assume: 8.0 A - Duck Tales 2 8.5 B+ - RC Pro Am II
  9. No guesses? Not seeing any sales of these two.
  10. Is that new though? *cough* Stadium Events, Color a Dinosaur, etc.
  11. @AdamWYep, you are right. Although, it is not as prominently displayed... Is there info somewhere on how the different Genesis seals? Looks like Sonic 2 is where it is made/assembled.
  12. The one in Nov is Later Production, the recent one is slated as First Production. Many collectors see this as a huge difference... apparently a 20k+ difference (although higher grade has impact as well).
  13. @AdamWExactly, which is why I stated "in this market". Buying a game (collectible, stock, etc.) to flip is always a risk regardless of whether it's raw or graded. There are no guarantees. I agree, the first party/tier titles should hold their value much more so over time if a correction does occur.
  14. In this market the extra wait time will help sellers as prices continue to rise. Who knows when/if prices will drop. There has been flipping/arbitrage in VG collecting for some years now, especially with sealed games. One reason I stopped collecting older games, too many flippers/resellers on ebay. I really missed the boat on Pokemon games. I was never into them and never speculated that they'd be worth something some day. I had no idea of their impact, or relevance. I should have known since they were published by Nintendo. Got rid of them years ago for basically nothing, including quite a few Emeralds. Big miss on my part.
  15. This appears to be for the tax year 2022. Therefore, would impact selling in 2022 and reporting in 2023.
  16. I assume so. Some have Turbo orders going back to Sept.
  17. At the time, this was one of the best gaming experiences. Not sure if I'd feel the same way playing it today, but this goes down as one of my all time favorites.
  18. They know Turbo is currently running 150+ days and yet they have a 90 day estimate. They don't seem to be doing themselves any favors.
  19. Any current estimates for these two sealed?
  20. Exactly. Jack the price up and be done with it. They are forcing us to pay more to get them back in a reasonable timeframe anyway, let’s stop the charade of budget services that take a year.
  21. Wata should get rid of TAT tiers, and prioritize based on received date.
  22. Depends on how could of an artist you are. How do other grading collectibles view autographs? (cards, comics, etc.)
  23. I would argue that the right signature enhancing the game, and does not detract from it. For example, I’d love an MTPO with his sig.
  24. Out of curiosity, do you mind sharing how many games you typically send in at a time? I was planning on doing the same, however, with the lengthy turn times I'm a bit hesitant because at some point WATA would have quite a few of my games and a lot of my money. I probably just need to suck it up and do it, otherwise, it's going to take me years to get stuff graded. I'd be curious how the different tier priorities come into play on the TATs. For example, at some point I assume they'll have to get a turbo order done before a speedrun.
