  1. Let me know if you need CPE credits, I can sign off. You probably just got .5 in.
  2. I can't Not sure why I am engaging with this... but I need to finish my coffee. Organic growth is by "gradual or natural development." I used it for collectors, which would mean more collectors (not speculators) have entered the market due to natural influence. For example, video game relevance and popularity has increased. Therefore, more people (collectors) seek out games to buy, generating more demand and thus, drive prices higher. That's it. Organic growth.
  3. I said a particular segment of demand has grown organically. What you showed is price (total market). Since you are a CPA , and I'm CPA, I don't need to explain why you can not compare the two, right?
  4. Good to see you putting your new vocab word to use. Read my comments again, I said demand from collectors, which is only part of demand, has grown organically as new collectors enter the market.
  5. in the course of gradual or natural development. "the market grew organically from its modest beginnings" Any other "mistakes" of mine you'd like to correct?
  6. I mentioned one segment of demand, collectors. Which has organically increased which will lead to higher prices. I have not referenced speculators, including institutions, at all.
  7. The demand from collectors has always been there, and is increasing. I’m not arguing anything at this time. Fact is, there is demand from collectors.
  8. I answered a question, not making a point. There is demand, for high dollar games, from collectors
  9. Yes. I’ve had multiple private offers from collectors. To @jonebone’s point earlier regarding private offers, all you have to do is post a pic of a sought after game and the messages start coming. There is plenty of demand for five and six figure games.
  10. My most recent, open order, is running at about 4 months (assuming will ship in the next week). No games need DVD cases so that delay is not applicable.
  11. I'm trying to get out of this topic, don't drag me back in lol It does, however, make his point of WATA breaking its policy moot. I do agree with you, which is why I also stated earlier: While it may be legal, it can ruin reputations and creditability (the newspaper test). When your business is based on being an unbiased and creditable source you have to go above and beyond to build and maintain that reputation. Not doing anything illegal is not enough. If there is an appearance of any bias or wrongdoing you put that reputation, and your business, in jeopardy.
  12. Well, not many people were/are buying entire collections and when they do buy in bulk they usually expect discounts. Plus, prices were much lower back then. It’d be interesting to hear what Dain got for everything. Grading games as the “Carolina Collection” is definitely a misstep by WATA, imo.
  13. Just speculating… sale of the physical collection may have been contingent on the inclusion of NA. And yes, board members usually are not employees.
  14. You take worse pictures than me lol That's one of those games I missed out on, was always outbid.
  15. Why all the rage? There are so many worse things going on in the world, why is there so much rage and emotion directed at WATA and HA? Is it cause it's "your hobby", you "have" to pay more for games, you missed out, or you are so morally just that you can't stand it when others act in a way contrary to your views? I have to believe if you are on this forum you have some love for VG collecting. All of us have been affected by this crazy market in some way. Some have profited while others are frustrated. If this is a manipulation by some, then wait, it will sort itself out in time as a market cannot be propped up forever. No one is forcing you to buy anything (especially an entertainment/luxury item like high end games). Be happy for those that have benefitted from it. Many on these forums have done well, and deservedly so. Be happy for them, tell your neighbors you "know" the guy who sold a $1.6M game @ExplodedHamster. I heard he's building a strip club over his garage and we are all invited. Games are much more prevalent in today's culture than ever before and it was only a matter of time before prices rose to comic/card levels. Demand, bitcoin money, meme stock money, stimulus money, aggressive marketing, and maybe some shady practices seem to have accelerated the ascent. However, I don't think HA and WATA have single handedly propped up the entire market. There is always a runner up bidder and I've seen way too many private offers/sales that are aligned with what is going on at HA. For transparency, I'm one of "those": Been collecting sealed games for almost 20 years and have many games in the race. Have never liked graded games, but will use that avenue. If HA and WATA had an agreement of sorts then, imo, no one associated with either company should be allowed to bid on WATA/HA auctions. Period. While it may be legal, it can ruin reputations and creditability (the newspaper test).
  16. You should have plenty of confidence bidding on eBay, so don’t take any of the blame. When I was actively buying on eBay, years ago, would see similar situations every now and then when a seller didn’t get what they wanted. Did the seller just cancel it, was there any excuse?
  17. That’s a template . Notice the “10%” is off, that’s because it’s an editable field. The commission is negotiable, I’ve spoken with HA... and others have said the same.
  18. I hear ya. I would have done more had I known what a debacle it would become. And I was so close to sending in LRRH Zombie BBQ as well.
