  1. @ifightdragons Lizard also has a free demo available. Try that and see what you think.
  2. "FS: Nothing" is that some sort of minimalist lifestyle buy in? How much for a 5 pack?
  3. Very appealing Clarifying one point. The interface unit is the one RGB modded and not the Coregrafx console. Correct?
  4. From a design point of view, it is very well done. The game is expansive, the visuals are great, the music is great, and so are the mechanics. The boss battles are very smartly done, you have no attacks at your disposal, you need to figure out the environmental puzzle of how to defeat the bosses. I think your actual enjoyment will depend on what type of games you like. It is a Metroid style game in the sense that the world needs to be unlocked using different abilities and there will be a lot backtracking. However you will be using a defense strategy in how you advance in the game. There is no hand holding as far as what to do, where to go, what things are for. That can very appealing if you like large puzzles and figuring out what to do on your own. Personally. I enjoy the Metroidvania style over straight Metroid style. I like the offensive, leveling up, stats, inventory systems, etc. that come with the Castlevania portion of the style. Blaster Master, even though more linear, I also enjoy. I will go back to Lizard later on. There is no denying that it is a great game and quite an achievement, IMO. I have to come to terms with what the game wants from me, the player, to really get into it. I think others will immediately be on board and ready for that ride. I need some time.
  5. Question for those that used HA before. What the hell is buyer premium? Is that, the fees are paid by the buyer and on top of your bid?
  6. @RH no sweat. It is an 8 video play list. I concur with an earlier comment. I recall Ben had to swap out the optical drive to get it to work.
  7. The most I know about it was the videos Ben Heck posted on YouTube during the repair.
  8. Auction is live. Ends March 5th. https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-games/nintendo/nintendo-play-station-super-nes-cd-rom-prototype-sony-and-nintendo-c-1992/a/7224-93060.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  9. Homebrews offer a lot and can be appealing for many reasons. This makes the way in which you approach the topic interesting due to the amount of different mindsets people could have. One approach is which homebrews give the best unique experiences that were not available, either at all or very limited, from licensed games. I find this interesting because it addresses why someone should consider playing homebrews that have not swayed away from playing licensed games only. Nebs ‘N Debs: You crash land your ship and have a hungry octopus attached to your head. You must collect parts to fix your ship to return to space. While searching, the hungry octopus is draining your energy. Feed the octopus diamonds along the way to keep the counter above zero. The play style is a side scrolling platformer that has a unique action ability. A horizontal dash that you use to break blocks and kill enemies. You can extend your jump by dashing though an object or enemy to gain an additional dash. The dash adds a different take on the platformer along with an urgency to find the collectible (diamonds) or reach the end of the level. NEScape!: You awake in a dark room and must solve the puzzles in the room to escape while the clock is ticking down. The play style is a point n’ click escape the room game. There are both visual and audio puzzles which build off one of another. You will probably have to play several times to figure everything out in the time limit. NEScape offers two unique things. Only escape the room video game on the NES and optionally you can use the mouse instead of a controller. Spook ‘o Tron: Twin stick shooter style game based on the arcade game Robotron. It is not a straight port, but rather a game inspired by it. You use two controllers turned vertically so you have two d-pads, one for moving and one for shooting. I think this brings back something that the NES was known for or a draw for back in the day, play arcade games at home. Robotron might have been something you were dying to have it home. This offers it in its own style. I also want to add my own personal favorites - The Mad Wizard: An epic “Metroid” style adventure. You are a wizard and have to collect abilities to unlock different areas of the map in order to face off to the mega boss “Amondus”. There is no jumping. You have a hover ability that you extend the x and y axis of by unlocking upgrades along with other magic. Music is great and a blast to play. The Incident: A box pushing puzzler. There are no enemies, like you would find in Lolo, just you and the puzzle. Over 100 levels, killer music, and an interesting story. Push / re-arrange the boxes into the targets in order to move on. I think the game's setting, story, and music set it apart from a “Sokoban clone”. The thing about The Incident, it is super hard to sell this game in a write up or a video. You have to play it in order to see the appeal. I passed it up several times, despite the amazing things people said about it. One day, I caved and thought I would take the gamble on it. I got hooked right away, and stayed up many night to beat it, I couldn’t get enough. I have had friends over, put The Incident on, and they are hooked as well. Happened several times. My memory it not great, so I can go back to this game yearly and enjoy it. It is my favorite tied with The Mad Wizard.
  10. At least for FF7, you would need the Everdrive Pro, as the ROM size exceeds the regular edition limits. If you still want it, PM me.
  11. Art is adorable and love that Vacuum boss. Reminds me of a Crash Bandicoot ride the hog level, the forced scrolling and having to dash across the screen to dodge all the objects in the way.
  12. 47,400 Damn you Rob [Shaking fist to the sky] Place holder score. Warming up, I will get better.
  13. I was going to guess 5-8k if it was a stellar work, but I don't have tattoos. Only going off what people said their smaller pieces cost and multiplying. Also NYC metro prices. Tattoo artist would have a better idea. Any out there?
  14. Not me. Saw this on twitter: Full back tattoo themed on FF7.
  15. I am a combination of Scrobins and DefaultGen. Not a shelf collector as well. I buy to play them, but there are so many good homebrews coming out at a fast pace, I have a play next queue longer than I would like to have. I'll usually play them a bit when they arrive to get a sense of the game. Some of those, capture me right then and I'll move them to the front of the queue and keep at it untill completion or the "wall", as Tyler said. The wall for some have been, what the hell am I supposed to do next, like Lizard, and others have been the difficulty just wore on me that I put them back in the queue and moved on, like Battle Kid. Others I like so much, I go back to them often, like The Mad Wizard and The Incident.
  16. Notice: Rules have been revised in the OP, see #9-11. Scoreboard will be reset. FYI: @Ausden @bertsampson @Bearcat-Doug @DefaultGen @driveshaft @ecmyers @JamesRobot @Richardhead @zi
  17. @Red @Richardhead Thanks for pointing that out. Let me talk with @Scrobins to figure out if we will revise the rules. We will try to sort it out today. @Richardhead since you submitted your score already, will you be okay if we revise the rules and reset the board?
  18. I figured it was a choice to have a cleaner layout on mobile. On Android, it doesn't show baubles, charms, or an outline box.
  19. Going back to what some others were saying, you have to be a do-er on a community site. Some others and I really wanted more homebrew involvement in this site. That is why Neodolphino is on the Homebrew Team, why Scrobins is managing the Homebrews on the Horzion theard, and why Scrobins and I are running the Hombrew Leaderboard Competition.
  20. I come here for the community and forum and that is where VGS shines. What has been built so far is wonderful.
  21. Is the graphics team doing the badge graphics? They look great!
  22. @CasualCart @Gloves While i hope that is the case, and it makes logical sense, based on Analogue's comments in the past, doesn't seem like the case for it. Not saying it won't happen, just that I would be cautious and not miss out on the final nt mini run. Analogue as a company is kind of like Nintendo. Keeps things close to the chest. Doesn't always do things you think they would. Doesn't respond to social media. It is so strange though. You send them an email and they will be so much more forth coming than on Twitter.
  23. Complete it, as in 100% of everything, almost never after 8-bit and 16-bit generation. Games got so large and had tons of extra content that it is huge undertaking. Generally, nowadays, if I really like the game, I'll finish it. Complete the story, do all or most of the side quests. The last games that I recall 100% completing were Final Fantasy VII and Tactics. I enjoyed them so much that I had to milk those games for all they were worth. I would have put another game into that that category above, however there were just too many drop items based on luck, I never did it. Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Max level, all secrets, side quests, and all map uncovered. All items? Hell no. Star Ocean Second Story as well. Have to play the game multiple times to get all the characters in both story perspective. Which I did, but there are too many private actions and alchemy recipes for me to go down the route.
  24. I have it for Switch. I picked it up maybe the beginning of last year. I was waiting for a physical release. When it never came, I imported the Japan release. I loved it. If you liked Harvest Moon SNES, pretty sure you will love it as well. Stardew Valley took everything great about Harvest Moon and expanded it so much. Still has updates and additions being pushed out to this day.
