This is more promising, it seems there could be more hi def NES kits in the future before 2.0 version.

Hi-Def NES is not gone forever, but restocks will take years...

I have an NT mini, NT mini noir, and retrotink 5Xpro that I use with a twin famicom.  NT mini and noir are great.  The retrotink I use with composite on the twin famicom, it is pretty good, there is noise as composite is what it is. 

If you are not going to spring for a console with HDMI, retrotink is an option worth really considering. You can even do rgb mod on your NES to improve it.

Well no one can say I am not diverse with the platforms that I'll pick up homebrews for...next up is a release for PC Engine CD.  FX Unit Yuki, by Sarumaru, a platformer that draws from a wide range of other platformers in a series of themed levels.  This was originally a Kickstarter campaign with tiers for PC Engine, PC, and Dreamcast and later a port to the Genesis.

Donkey Kong The Real Arcade Game, by @Sumez.  This was a new port to the NES that strived to be arcade accurate.  I picked this up in 2020 and it was a limited edition of 15 copies, this being #10.

Next up is a 2022 release...Yeah Yeah Beebiss II, an arcade style game, made on the lure of game sheen on a release sheet that was never to be.  This is the sequel of that never released game, dreamed up by @John Riggswith programming by Mega Cat Studios and Bit Ink Studios and music by Chips 'n Chellos.  Later, this homebrew was released on both steam and switch.

Fire and Rescue by Skyboy Games, an arcade style game where you rescue people trapped in a building on fire.  Available digitally as well

Architect, primarily on public buildings, though some private commerical as well.

Next up is a recent release...Dungeons & Doomknights by Artix with programing by our very own@dale_coop.  It is a Zelda-like, however there is large in game story here with many dungeons and power ups.  It an expansive game.  This one really surprised me, very much a recommendation. Backed this on Kickstarter awhile back.  A RPG for Apple ][ by 6502 Workshop, Nox Archaist.  Came with the game on both floppy disks and USB drive, map, stickers, box, and manual.  Play it on your Apple ][ or emulator.  There is even an expansion pack now.

You haven't provided enough information.  What aspect of Prototypes? Does it not fit in another section of the forum (i.e. collecting, buying, or playing)?  Are you developing your own game and are making a prototype?

Alien Trilogy for PS1 in what comes to mind.  I don't recall any after that.
