  1. LOL! I wanted it because it's from one of my favorite movie quotes, Trading Places. "It ain't cool bein' no jive turkey... so close to Thanksgiving."
  2. That damn Jive Turkey award alluded me for years!
  3. One of my favorite party games!
  4. I had not even really thought about this until you posted your list, but now that you have, it made me do the same thing. Holy shit I need to slow down! This is my list... 5. Hey, buddy, to each his own. I certainly can't blame you for having your own opinion on them, but I think the overwhelming consensus is/will be that they will count towards a full set. If you aren't going for that, then it really doesn't matter, right? I was more just laughing because I had never seen anyone argue that they should NOT be counted. If Nintendo said that, then I can totally see where you're coming from. However, at $9-19 bucks a pop now depending on what sale you catch, they are worth the money of putting together and playing for sure, IMO.
  6. I find that hilarious. My kids love the fishing Labo game. You are seriously the first person I've seen challenge Labo counting. The code games I totally get both sides, but I just don't get the argument against Labo. Official 1st party release with a physical cartridge. It doesn't count because it's kitschy?
  7. PM sent! BTW, my favorite game is Venture, too! Played that game to death when I was a kid.
  8. Maybe you can count them towards your complete IB collection, since there's no C. LOL! In all honesty, that's why I personally draw the line with those titles not counting.
  9. I've got several ColecoVision dupes if you are interested in a trade!
  10. I think you have to count the Labo games. They have cartridges and are actually playable
  11. I'm the exact same way. If I don't have a double, it usually doesn't go anywhere. I did sell off a bunch of Genesis premiums like MUSHA and Crusader of Centy a few years back to complete my licensed NES set, though, so you never know. I'd gladly trade my copy of Star Keeper for a Sealed Master Edition of Breath of the Wild, though, so that's what makes me consider selling this one.
  12. It was hilarious, actually. A huge box packed full of paper and the book in the bottom. The book looks great, though!
  13. It all started for me in the early 2000's trying to rebuild my NES collection from my childhood. That's when I learned that collecting was a thing. I then started buying as many games that looked cool to play them as I could. I would go to Pawn Shops, Flea Markets, Garage Sales, and Thrift Stores and find loads of old games. I remember one guy at a flea market would empty people's attics and bring all the boxes of stuff to sell. He would sell each item for a quarter and you could fill a box with anything for $10. I would load up on anything game related and walk away for $10 on most Saturdays. I found two ROBs that way and a CIB (top flap missing, though) Stack Up. I just fell in love with the hunt. As I've gotten older and have a bit more disposable income (my wife would argue this point), I've selectively completed a few sets and I've become an avid Switch collector. For me, it's just a hobby. I play a lot of games, but as we've grown our family, my time to play has decreased immensely. I love it, though. I especially love the look on people's faces when they see my collection for the first time. It's basically a playable museum for people my age.
  14. Good to see you! I just got my Virtual Boy book from you yesterday!
  15. Hmmmm..... That's getting awful close to what I might let mine go for. I still have the numbered bag that mine came in too.
  16. The rumor was that they got scared of copyright infringement. They may have even been threatened with suit. I don't know how much truth there was to that, though. My opinion was that their games and boxes were always of really high quality at the time, but they were making NES and SNES repros at a time when new carts weren't very cheap, so they painted a lot of old carts to make their stuff. I've been surprised at how the values have held up considering that fact. I alwasy like their boxes and boxart
  17. Right now, I'm on a Switch and Switch Steelbook chase. I need five of them to have every one released so far. My REAL goal is to re-configure my game room to make room for all of this stuff. I though I had that problems solved, then filled two shelving units with games in less than a year. My wife hates me right now. LOL!
  18. It's a real problem. I keep getting sucked into buying them because the extras are so cool. I have completely run out of room. I am going to redo a bunch of shelving this winter and reorganize. Might sell some stuff off that I don't care about to make room. @D-Funk, where did you get that skinny shelf in the corner with all of your 3DS games? I need at least two of those. *edit* Shit. How do you tag people here again?
