  1. This is literally my first time seeing/hearing about this. Thank you; ordered.
  2. https://retroprotection.com/main.sc This is my go to for everything: odd/one-off sizes, standard boxes, etc. The fit is really important to me other than the thickness and UV cut, and the fit on these is really tailored. On the flip side - and this is not to discount other's positive experiences with them - Video Game Box Protectors did not do well by a friend of mine purchasing in bulk from them for his store; he ordered a batch of Sega Genesis protectors w/no hang tab room and a batch w/hang tab room but was sent only the former. He reached out to see about getting his order fixed and was told flat out that that was not going to happen and stone walled him afterwards. Between that episode and the loose fit of the boxes, he doesn't do business with them any longer. At any rate, I hope you find what's right for you and your collection!
  3. - Hades - Streets of Rage 4 - The Gardens Between
  4. I was very poor growing up, and mostly played rented games at friend's houses. The first game I bought new with money I earned was Chrono Trigger (from 92' - 95', all the money I earned from working went to help out my family, so I was able to get CT in '96). After that I started picking up things I had missed out on like LttP, Mega Man X, etc., and went all in on PS1. Throughout the years, I'd pick up games here and there from the 80's and 90's, but other than the GBC, GBA and SNES games I had bought in the late 90's and 00's, my cartridge games were cart only. In 2016 or so, I decided to go CIB only, and I've been able to make that happen. I love the artwork, the manuals, the adverts...all of it. There's almost a ceremony in unboxing and getting ready to play a game, and that's what gets me every time; I'm comfortable with the incurred expense to get those great feelings of opening a game, reading a manual, and playing even today, especially since that feeling was so elusive when I was a kid.
  5. Depending on the dirt level, I'm also in the camp of 99% isopropyl, but use it with a microfibre cloth instead of cotton swabs. If the dirt is serious, Deoxit electronic cleaner is actually meant for this kind of thing and works beautifully.
  6. I'm really looking forward to this book. I've picked up most of the Bitmap catalogue, but as a serious fan of portable systems (and getting heavily into GB/GBC CIB hunting in the past year), this one feels near and dear to me. Not a fan of the slip cover art though...I ended up ordering the standard version instead.
  7. Retrosix makes properly molded shells with Japanese ABS. I've been getting their shells for the original GBA and the feel and fit are on point. Best of luck!
