  1. Super Game Boy: I do love the SP, but I enjoy playing on a TV and the exclusive features that only the SGB can provide (mainly the custom palettes for certain titles like Kirby's Dream Land 2 and Mega Man V)
  2. 7/10 I think Mega Man 2 is a great NES game, but when up against the other NES Mega Mans, its only above the first and maybe 4 (I gotta play them both again to truly determine it). The main reason being that (recently, oddly enough) it hurts my eyes - the BG flashes white for every hit on most Wily Castle bosses, plus the duration of their death animations (it does happen in the other NES games, but I think its at its worst here). Other complaints would be the final boss that can only be defeated one weapon while the rest (including the regular buster/default) HEAL IT, Time Stopper forcing you to use all the ammo until it runs dry (does changeing screens stop it?), the glitchiest block puzzle in any mainline Mega Man title (MM9 uses a fixed verson in Endless Mode), and it feels too much like MM1 when it comes to how the controls feel (a bit too heavy). Those problems/nitpicks aside, it still is a great time... honestly most classic Mega Man games are.
  3. Happy 30th, Kirby's Adventure! I didn't know this till recently, but the first level, Vegetable Valley ('Plains Stage' in the video above), has a slightly different intro in the PAL release. KirbysAdventure_VegValley_PAL_Intro.ogg.mp3
  4. GTA: San Andreas - 10-11 year old me loved driving around in a tank, blasting anything that moved
  5. NES: SMB/Duck Hunt, SMB 2, LoZ 1, Chip 'n' Dale, TMNT, Kirby's Adventure, Mario is Missing, 10 Yard Fight, MLB, Wrestlemania, Bubble Bobble, Yoshi's Cookie, Wheel of Fortune: Family Edition SNES: Mortal Kombat II, Super Castlevania IV, Final Fantasy II N64: Pokemon Puzzle League, Flying Dragon, Banjo Tooie, Rugrats Scavenger Hunt Gamecube: Mario Kart Double Dash, Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island Wii: Wii Sports, Wii Play Wii U: Sonic Lost World, New Super Mario Bros U + New Super Luigi U Switch: Cave Story+, Super Mario Odyssey, Sonic Mania Game Boy+Color: Kirby's Dreamland 2, Super Mario Bros Deluxe GBA: Rocket Power: Dream Scheme(?), Iridion 3D, a Danny Phantom game Nintendo DS: Sim City DS, Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island Nintendo 3DS: Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 Sega Genesis: Sonic 2, Sonic & Knuckles Sega Dreamcast: Crazy Taxi, Sega Smash Pack 1, Soul Calibur, Medal of Honor, Sonic Adventure (burned copy) Sega Game Gear: Sonic 2, Super Columns, Batman and Robin PS1: Spyro 2, a Tony Hawk Pro Skater PS2: Jak II X-Box: Steel Battalion TurboGrafx: Keith Courage, Blazing Lazers
  6. One of the best Genesis/Mega Drive games and easily my favorite 'stand alone' Sonic game (Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles combined is superior, but I think S&K on its own is weaker then 3)
  7. 8/10 - Was thinking from Dante's Inferno and Infamous (still wrong game) for Connor and Brucie respectively @Reed Rothchild Did anyone manage to get all 10 at trivia night?
  8. I've been playing all the Xenoblade games (1 through 3 + X) since last June and with exception to the 1st game, I've had a crash/softlock on each of them. The worst one lost me 2 hours on Xenoblade 2 (it was during a VERY tedious side quest too ). Shantae:HGH on Switch also crashed on me twice, oddly when I was trying to farm for gems (using the vase transformation in the Bath House).
  9. So my Secret Santa was @spacepup and he... uh... managed to nuke whatever was knocked out of the park. I'm still trying to process everything, but I do know that I'll finally be able to listen to the OST's of Herzog Eins+Zwei and Thunder Force III+AC without an internet connection (the Rockman CD looks very interesting too), play Mega Man World II and III for the first time (+ play an authentic copy of MMW IV), see if Kirby will help me become a fan of Puyo Puyo, and most importantly... Thank you so very much to Spacepup, the big Secret Santa (no guesses on who it is from me this year though), and the rest of the participants for making VGS Secret Santa (and VGS in general) so wonderful! Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all!
  10. To all the good gamers out there: Kirby and the Forgotten Land And to the naughty ones: Ultraman for SNES Babylon's Fall (the only 'unliked' game that I know was released this year)
  11. Is there a chance to sneak an hour of Mario Kart 8 into this game night as well? New batch of courses releases on the 7th. Also, when will the next game night after the 10th be? (I assume we're not doing one on the 24th)
  12. Some people asked for it, I wanted to make it... have fun!
  13. Interesting that no one's voted for Aristocats. I remember watching it a lot on VHS, along with 101 Dalmatians, Winnie the Pooh '77, Great Mouse Detective, Oliver & Co, and Aladdin. Unfortunately, I don't remember much of the film past the motorcycle chase scene so the vote went to Pooh Bear (the late 80s show and 2000s movies helped with the bias too).
