krimas 2023 VGS Secret Santa Reveal Thread!
FireHazard51 replied to Secret Santa's topic in Everything Else
I opened my gift kinda late which is why I didn't post about it till now. @WalterWhiteJr. nailed with the PS Move games. I'm looking forward to playing the games and see if they were really bad or people just didn't want to buy into the "gimmic" of motion games trying to mimic the Wii even though they are actually fun to play and do work well. Also I'm SUPER happy you got me coffee beans! I really really really wanted some coffee bean from another "local" place to try. Also I'm totally going to have that christmas card on my fridge for way too long -
Man, wish I could of taken some college courses on video games.

I'm betting it's not the hot tub girls doing the grooming. But agree, the scary shit is in PMs/DMs.
-
Twitch is grooming??? Honestly if are worried about that it would be conducted somewhere far more private like Discord DMs or Roleblox. Twitch is pretty much a very public forum so I wouldn't be worried about grooming there. As for the concerns of porn being available means it will take over the whole platform. I will just site Reddit and Twitter. Both allow porn and both are not KNOWN for porn. Granted if you use those sources for porn then you know them for porn. Lets just say I was shocked when I stumbled onto some NSFW tweets before. The internet is going to be the internet. I'd be FAR more concern over neo-nazi hate speach or flat earther theorist on YouTube than hot tub girls on Twitch. AI overlords will soon detect the slightest indication of boob drawing and auto sensor it for you though so just rest easy.

2121, First was I could careless. It hurt to not vote for Tears for Fear but I'm a sucker for rock songs with a string section. The rest were easy. -

UGH! Guess I need to stop buying more tasty treats and get to wrapping. -
"This picture isn't relevant and isn't even funny. It doesn't relate to anything in real life." Humor doesn't need to be grounded in real life. It's OK if you don't find those kinds of jokes funny. Others do, and that's OK too. "Or maybe it's just that whoever drew that picture has never seen a real airplane which would explain everything." I think that is not the case. I think they intentionally drew the picture that way even though they know that isn't how "typical" airplane look. They thought it was funny, even though it doesn't relate to anything in real life. There, I've fulfilled the Cody Monkey request, I believe.

When it comes to collecting I don't have guilt for the value of my collection. Mostly because I have "junk" that is no where near $1k in value for a single game. Collectively it has some value but we all know bulk "junk" is never worth as much as it's valued when sold in a large sale. I feel guilt from SPENDING money on the collection. I only feel that when I look at the total amount I spent. I'm sure I feel FAR more guilty if I looked at how much I spend on fast food than my video game collection. At least I'm spending money on something that makes me feel happy more than just shortly after the purchase. I can look at my collection and feel happy. I guess that is what people do when they look at art pieces. I guess my collection is "art" to me. Everyone has a hobby and hobbies have pros and cons. A con is typically that its a money sink. At least all hobbies are for me

Me thinking about how it's so delicious but so many people can't handle it's awesomeness..... -
If you want real good detail you have to post files on another site. I will second that http://imgur.com is pretty damn good for hosting my bullshit photos that only like 3 people probably open all the way up to see the full resolution. If you want better detail you could always zoom in on what you want to show and then the crappy compression still is usable. You know Gloves has to like three new kittens and needs to start a college fund for them. And of course they are stuck up and want to go to college out of country so it's EXTRA expensive. VGS don't have the funds for fancy things no more...

How long have you been using the same computer monitor?
FireHazard51 replied to mbd39's topic in Everything Else
42", I usually sit ~3' away from it. If I'm not sitting center on, that is when I notice things look odd when I'm looking at the other end from where I'm off sitting. -

I wouldn't seek out 8K, it will likely just be part of the TV standard features eventually. I would say what size is best at a desk also depends on if the screen is flat or curve. I have a flat one and there times where I notice it makes things look weird/difficult to use. Also becomes an issue when I'm sitting at a skew to the TV. But I do have a 42" TV and would get it again. My partner has a 55" Odyssey Ark and she loves it. Because it's curved it's much easier to use. Fucker is heavy as shit and a pain to setup. I legit couldn't put it together by myself but I've setup a 60" without help before. -

I rotate out a monitor every 3-4 years and I run a 2 monitor setup. I just replaced one a year ago. Usually it's for the reason of getting a benefit/feature. I remember upgrading to have an HDMI port so I could use it for gaming too. Then from 60hz to 144hz (Christmas gift I didn't ask for but appreciated). Last one was for going to 4K, 120Hz, and OLED. I REALLY wanted a 120Hz OLED screen to play PS5 and I had just built a powerhouse gaming rig that could game in 4K so allowed my self the excuse to buy a small OLED TV to be used as my main monitor. Actually now that I think about it I 98% of the time only use the one monitor. I can do two monitors but I only do that if I stream. -
FireHazard's road to Full ESRB (NA+) Set of PSVR (🎉COMPLETED!!!)
FireHazard51 replied to FireHazard51's topic in Show Off
PSVR platform doesn't lend to porting of games but PSVR2 does. This is why I think PSVR will die quickly. I'll keep a close eye on Limit Run Games and Prep Games as they are the ones who may still support the console because of a digital only getting a physical release. But yeah, I think Retribution will be the last "new" game with a physical PSVR release.
