  1. Curious if anyone out there collects Vidpro cards? If so, have any cool pics to share? In terms of collecting Vidpro cards, are there any that are almost impossible to find, or considered ultra rare compared to others? Any cool stories on how you acquired Vidpro cards? Apart from finding some on Ebay, I have had a hard time tracking these down. I'd love to get more. Right now I own a Atomic Robo-Kid Sega Genesis card that I actually found in a stack of SNES manuals at a yard sale.
  2. Definitely a full set collector here. I finished both my NTSC Licensed NES full set earlier this year as well as a full Wii U CIB set too. The next two full sets I am working on now are Atari Jaguar and PS1 Longbox. I love the adventures along the way when collecting for full sets!
  3. Hey Tulpa, which one would you say is harder to come by? The NES one or the Genesis cart?
  4. Ah crap, i feel like an idiot. Lol i had no idea they made this game for the Genesis!! ha, thanks for pointing out the obvious.
  5. I recently came across a sealed Action 52 for sale in a FB retro gaming group and I noticed something different about it when comparing it to my Action 52 box. The box and colors are different. I am aware there are 3 different variants of the Action 52 game cartridge itself, (blue, green, and black PCB), however I did not know there are also box variants too. Can anyone provide some additional insight/background into Action 52 box color variants? Did different colored boxes come with the different colored PCB board variants of the game? If so, what color box came with what color PCB board? To provide more context - I own the black PCB board variant of the game. Does anyone have additional pics for comparison? (Pics below: screenshots of the Action 52 sealed copy that was for sale in the FB group, and front/back picture of my box - the purple box).
  6. Hello Fellow Collectors, I am going through a lot of my NES CIBs and making sure they are accurate in terms of proper dust sleeves, paperwork, manuals, etc. One that I am having a hard time figuring out is Mega Man 6. I am looking at several Ebay sold listings and every single one seems to be a bit different in what the packaged contents look like. Can any fellow collector provide a few pics of their Mega Man 6 CIB contents so I can get an idea of what exactly I need to make it 100% accurate? Thanks!
  7. It's a fun set for sure and achievable. I think it only took me around 2.5 years to complete it. Whereas it took me 10 years to complete my NES set!
  8. Thought I'd share! Back in April I officially completed my CIB Wii U game collection. I was able to acquire MOST of this pre pandemic (2017-2019) at garage sales and thrift stores. The Wii U was a fun library to collect for, due to it being a rather small game library and an easy one to complete before prices got crazy. I picked up my sealed Devils Third in 2019 for $130 at the time and it was the first and only game I ever sent to Wata to get graded (I wanted to test out the process and decided for some reason that Devils Third would have been a good choice to send it on my first grading run). Received it back in Feb of 2020. Anyway, very happy to have officially completed this! I only had one game left I needed to complete the set that I waited to find in the wild for over 2 years and that was Turbo Super Stunt Squad, which I finally just decided to purchase on Ebay in April to complete the set. I'd say about a third of my collection is sealed.
  9. I used something similar in my game room and found that it did block out the UV and light, however it made the window radiate a lot more heat with the film on it than without it. I didn't like that as I thought it heated up my room more than normal. So I ended up just taking blackout curtains and using thumb tacks to make sure the curtains didn't let any little bits of light through. I also invested in some UV protectant acrylic cases for all my heavies, so even if sunlight gets in the room there is an extra layer of protection.
  10. I am excited to announce I have completed my loose N.A NES game collection as of last week! This is a journey I have been on since 2013. I sold my sports car (Dodge Challenger) and took a chunk of the money and connected with some collectors getting out of the hobby and was able to acquire all the NES heavies (which is what I needed to finish the set) and here I am! I don't have Stadium Events, and even though that is technically considered for a full licensed set, I am just going to settle with World Class Track Meet for now and call it good. Maybe when the time is right I'll pick up a PAL version!
  11. I'm a bit confused about the "Carolina Collection." It appears that this is what WATA refers to as a "pedigree" collection, but is it just me or was this collection split up and sold among different vendors? I noticed back in October several of Dain's collection was up for auction on Heritage. But then I see that Metropolis collectibles supposedly purchased items from the "Carolina Collection" too but the games they bought don't all say "Carolina Collection" on the WATA certification details - only some. Yet all of the ones sold on Heritage did say "Carolina Collection" on the the WATA certification details. So what constitutes the Carolina Collection exactly? Is just some of Dain's collection part of the Carolina Collection while other games in his collection are not and why?
