Just going through some paper inserts I have and this one from HAL America caught my eye. In the coming in 1991 section it talks about a game titled "Power Pad Football". Obviously the game never came out, but I wonder how far in development it got. Outside of this advertisement I have never heard of it or talk of it. Wonder how they would have executed the idea. Either way it sounds interesting. Anyone out there have any information regarding this game or its history?

The game you are talking about is called Power Play Football.. It says it right in the text 🙂

Given that it was going to be published by HAL, it wouldn't be too wrong to assume it would be developed by Sculptured Software (did many HAL games, and did many other sport licensed games see https://tcrf.net/Category:Games_developed_by_Sculptured_Software), which has another unreleased NFL game on the SNES: https://tcrf.net/NFL_Football_(Sculptured_Software) https://snescentral.com/article.php?id=0852

Those screen shots in that first link are very interesting. Just fascinated nothing else substantial has surfaced regarding this specific game. Like I said before would have been very interested in how they would have executed the controls related to the Power Pad.

Guess I'll go ahead and point out the obvious.

NES Final Fantasy II

Good call, surprisingly the evenly if not more obvious Earthbound too has not been mentioned until this.

Just got a copy of the Super Dodgeball poster and it advertised two CSG Imagesoft games, Super Sushi Pinball and Super Rescue, neither of which was released in the US.
