Is this the final pick?  I couldn't quite tell.

Justin Timberlake

The hosting

The cameos (best upload I can find)

The shorts, maybe the funniest shit in SNL history

No, you need a musical act.

Actually, I'm not gonna overthink it, or watch 50 performances to find or recall something, or do the famous Nirvana session.  Instead I'll choose one of my favorite groups absolutely killing it, and bringing the heavy, which never happens on SNL

Faith No More

Musical Act- The Band 1976

This was tough for me as I have a couple other favorite performances and think most of the “best” performances are overrated, but peak The Band, just weeks before The Last Waltz is impossible to top.

I felt the first 2 rounds (probably the first 3) were very tight. There was also a run on hosts akin to QBs in fantasy football

I went for the host in the 3rd round, after 4 consecutive cast members on my wishlist got snagged. I find it interesting that everyone went with with someone who was a member of the "5 timers club"... I guess a proven track record counts for a lot.

Didn't participate, but I voted for:

Bill Murray, Chris Rock, Tina Fey, Jon Lovitz, Tracy Morgan Host: Christopher Walken Music: Blues Brothers

Even though he wasn't the greatest SNL cast member, I am a big Bill Murray fan.  Chris Rock is super talented, and Tina Fey is a brilliant writer and comedian.  Just a great cast and the host and musical act are pure SNL gold.

I agree that the first 3 rounds were close other than the Keenan pick, he’s not even close to as strong as the others IMO and would not make a the top 5 on any team for me. I figured my picks wouldn’t be favorites as a couple (Belushi & Radner) are older without the long movie careers like others since they died young. But no doubt they are both top 10, but likely top 5 cast members of all time.

Belushi & Radner are definitely considered some of the best cast members. I just don't have any attachment to them for the reasons you mentioned. I also have absolutely no love toward any of the cast members after the Wiig/Hader/Samburg era

Ok, I like stats and wanted confirmation that I drafted the best cast. It’s hard to find rankings that go deeper than 10-20 and include all of our picks, but I found Paste and Rolling Stone had rankings which included everyone. Below are the results which are average draft result. Note RS must really hate Norm MacDonald as they almost rated him last (139) which clearly threw Gtypes average off (if he was rated same as paste the avg was 25).
