PekoponTAS | 171
So from what I understand, pick only one game per publisher to build a best of all companies set. If you like, you can pick up to three from Nintendo because it's hard to choose? Funnily enough, this is how I like to collect when it comes to CIB copies for old game systems. Only my top game from each publisher gets the CIB. Nintendo: Kid Icarus Konami: Super C Ultra: Gyruss Capcom: Rescue Rangers Hudson: Milon's Secret Castle Sunsoft: Batman Tecmo: Ninja Gaiden Square: 3D World Runner Enix: Dragon Warrior II Data East: BreakThru Irem: Image Fight Culture Brain: The Magic of Scheherazade Acclaim: Wizards & Warriors III Taxan: Mystery Quest Kemco: Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle Hal: Adventures of Lolo 3 There's more, but I won't list every single one. Tanooki | 4,933
The mercy for added Nintendo threw me. It was a bit hard figuring out what would work to group, loving that idea sp1nz has done, we should adopt that list by publisher, and well, if you hate everything they did, exclude it, makes it easier. NESguide works a really solid filter.

Well, it's not hard for me since I don't really like many first-party games I wouldn't mind a few extra slots for Koei though, as I enjoy most of their lineup. Also, I still need to beat the 2nd Quest.) Capcom: Mega Man 2 (Almost infinitely replayable. With MM games I like to tackle the bosses in different orders and figure out which one is the easiest or hardest. I did this a lot with Mega Man X on the SNES.) Konami: Castlevania III (Personally I prefer the first game just a little bit in terms of challenge and level design. However, if I'm stuck with only a single game, then I would choose III, because it offers more content and replayability.) SNK: Crystalis (I have a confession to make: I don't really like SNK, or at least their output on the NES. Ikari Warriors and Athena are absolutely miserable and other games like Alpha Mission or IW II are barely average. Maybe Iron Tank and P.O.W. are pretty good and Crystalis is their only truly great game on the NES, imho.) Hudson: Adventure Island II (Hudson is another company whose output I'm not really a big fan of aside from the Super Bomberman games on the SNES. AI II is at least a reasonably big and decent game that would take me an insane amount of time to actually master. Starship Hector would have been my second choice, but that game ruins my thumb.) Sunsoft: Journey to Silius (Never played this, but I would like to try it eventually. And even if I didn't end up liking it, I would still enjoy it for the awesome music!) Ultra: Gyruss (I needed a shmup in here and Gyruss definitely fits that bill. Otherwise Konami's Gradius II might have made the list, but I guess only US NES games are allowed. Anyway, Gyruss is a really good time for me.) Taito: Dungeon Magic (I'm still missing a bit and epic RPG. Well, good thing that Taito released this one. It's pretty unique and offers a lot of bang for your buck. It also offers a little replayability by being able to choose a magic element at the start of the game which cn make the beginning and mid game a bit easier or harder. Highly underrated game, imho.) Tecmo: Ninja Gaiden (Maybe one day I will be able to defeat Jacquio! Or learn how to correctly write his name. Anyway, an absolute beast of a game, but still a lot of fun. Maybe if I dedicated more time to it I might be able to beat it.) Jaleco: Pinball Quest (Jaleco has to be another one of those slightly underwhelming publishers on the NES. I mainly picked PQ, because it's quite different from the other games that I have already listed. Shatterhand might have been a better pick according to public opinion, but I have never tried it and can't say whether I would like it.) Nintendo #2: Final Fantasy (Apparently Nintendo published this one and I just needed a traditional JRPG on my list. FF also offers a lot of replayability.) Nintendo #3: Super Mario Bros. 3 (I was going back and forth between this one and Zelda II, but for the sake of variety I picked SMB 3.) This would be my list. Personally it's sorely lacking an Enix game like Dragon Warrior III. Other than that I guess it's fine and would entertain me for quite a long time. AirVillain | 489
Interesting topic.... but I was very confused at the title and even more-so after reading the OP. I was reading it as "Owning ONE NES Game Company".... But alas, thanks to others and formatting I am understanding now. Couldn't possibly choose right now but the first thing that came to mind was "Mega Man 2". Now to pick ONE game from Capcom is difficult. VERY difficult.
