Is there a confirmed white bullet tyson?  I'd put Castlevania Hangtab up there as well. That's on par with Mega Man Dr Wright imo and  MTPO, at least imo.  I feel like a white bullets tyson in comparable condition would blow the Mega Man away in price.

We live in a world where golf is a five figure item.

I don’t think hangtabs exploded in price yet, but I’m sure any fan favorite game, with a hard to find, easy to identify, first print variant will go for big money.

  2. I’ve been saying for years that the NES has three true “holy grails” of sealed collecting.

Bronty’s Sticker Mario (or the other gloss seal that I had no idea existed until yesterday)

A First Print Zelda (No REV-A, with TM after the NES logo instead of (R)

and a first print Mega Man...that is to say it has the Captain Commando Sticker AND the Dr. Wright typo on the back of the box.

...you can probably throw white dot Mike Tyson’s up there now. Honestly that’s a variant I didn’t know about until earlier this year...but new big money gets to decide what’s worth new big money.

So this DOES include the " "Ultra/Konami 5-screw fun variants" ? Because you have a bunch listed on there. Bayou Billy, Super C, Top Gun 2, TMNT 1 & 2  etc .. Maybe they should be a different color?

Yeah I need to separate them since I don’t think they’re in the same category. It’s also missing a few of the newly discovered ones.

I just need to locate the old NA Thread to get the full list.

  4. I’ve been to one “geeky” con in my life, so I’m a bit of an expert at the subject now. (that’s sarcasm mind you)

I went to TooManyGames this year and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on all these years. I felt I could just let go and geek out and not have a conservative “normie” attitude to 30 year old plastic grey squares.

The only thing I really noticed that wasn’t family friendly is the very VERY few lewd cosplayers (either accidentally or purposely). The ones walking around in spandex without a dance belt...seriously guys, I don’t need to know your religion from across the building. There was one REALLY legit Attack on Titan monster there though.

I like the asterisks.  I feel those are very important to distinguish something that exists and something that could be a one off.  I dunno why the asterisk for Stadium Events.  Its such a rare game go begin with having so little 5 screw games make sense.  Plus its right in the middle of the 3 screw transition period.  I forgot what the first 3 screw game was.

The only reason is because I just find it suspect that all three were found in such a short period. I think it’s safe to call them legit, but I just want *one more* to put the final nail in the coffin.

  6. I was gonna write a long reply that no one would read, so I’m just gonna say the TLDR.

My kids love YouTube. FGTeeV, Blippi, ToyHeroes, RyansWorld, etc.

I don’t like the powers that be tell me what I can and can’t do if it isn’t hurting anyone.

All in all, this is a form of censorship under the guise of “saving the children” and is just an overreach of government.

My old sealed sticker dk math was found by wata (x-ray?) to contain a 3 screw cart, and be a slightly later revision of the box which makes no sense but nonetheless so it was.    There had to be some made with leftover parts such as that copy.

    That’s really interesting!

I hate taking someone’s word for it without visible proof, but between Deniz, Kenneth, and you I think I can break my rule just once.

The only thing that leaves doubt in my mind is that I don’t know how exactly they’re confirming screw variants. Is it some kind of telemetry method (sonogram), or is it radiographic (X-ray), is it something low tech like using a small neodymium magnet ball across the surface and see if it stops in a spot, or is it something else?

Next time I bump into them I have to ask, but since I only recently demoted DK Math 3-Screw, and there’s a lot of people who say otherwise, I have no choice but to bump it back up.

Next update is in a few hours.

  8. I start thinking about Christmas on September 1, then heavily on November 1.

We buy decorations all fall, and then we put up the tree ON thanksgiving. Followed by Black Friday shopping.

Tree comes down Jan. 1 around 11am and packed away for next year (we alternate between fake white tree and fake green tree)...outdoor lights come down spring or first 50+ winter weekend.

Im itching to put up my tree now...but I’ll be patient.

  9. Here's my attempt:

    Absolutely Essential - TOP 10

The following should be considered a rite of passage into gaming. Every gamer should have at least played these games once or twice in their lives. These games go beyond just the NES library, but extend themselves onto gaming history.

    • Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt
    • Super Mario Bros. 3
    • Legend of Zelda
    • Tetris
    • Contra
    • Castlevania
    • Mega Man 2
    • Ninja Gaiden
    • Metroid
    • Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

    Essential NES - 11-25

The following are games that are essential to anybody who says they enjoy NES games. These games should not be skipped or ignored.

    • Super Mario Bros. 2
    • Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
    • Double Dragon
    • Super C
    • Battletoads
    • DuckTales
    • Blaster Master
    • Final Fantasy
    • Dragon Warrior
    • Kid Icarus
    • Gradius
    • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
    • River City Ransom
    • Kirby's Adventure
    • Tecmo Super Bowl

    Great NES - 26-45

The following are games that are just straight up good NES games that still belong in any NES collectors and gamers "portfolio"

    • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game
    • Batman: The Video Game
    • Crystalis
    • Balloon Fight
    • Excitebike
    • Kung Fu
    • Wizards & Warriors
    • Bomberman
    • Rad Racer
    • Ice Climber
    • Wrecking Crew
    • Dr. Mario
    • Bubble Bobble
    • Super Spike V'Ball / Nintendo World Cup
    • Blades of Steel
    • Bionic Commando
    • Star Tropics
    • Goonies II
    • Strider
    • Journey to Silius

    High Rollers Club - 46-50

If you HAD to have an expensive NES game, these are the ones you need.

    • Dragon Warrior IV
    • Mighty Final Fight
    • Metal Storm
    • Bucky O'Hare
    • Gun+Nac

There. That's the best I can do...it still feels so empty without Mega Man 1 & 3-6, or TMNT 1 or III, Castlevania II, Wizards & Warriors II & 3, Lolo 1-3, Adventure Island 1-3, Duck Tales 2, Chip n Dale 1 & 2, Battletoads / Double Dragon, Donkey Kong Classics, Gremlins 2, Abadox, Marble Madness, Paperboy, Little Nemo, Crash n the Boys, Solar Jetman, Totally Rad, Krion Conquest, Smash TV, Kickmaster, Little Samson, and dozens upon dozens of other great games.......

But I think that list above is pretty representative of the NES library......still needs room for Tengen Tetris, Micro Machines, and Krazy Kreatures.

All 3 screw DK Maths were from the original mid-86 print run.  5 screw RC pro am was printed in early 88 and would make it the only 5 screw game printed in 88.  I think there was only 1 found so that tells me refurb, personally.

I recall one of the very few braveheart69 PMs that ACTUALLY got a response saying that his copy had no back, implying it may be the same story with the Ultra/Konami variants.

If you have any photos of 3-Screw DK Math boards made after the 5-Screw switch then I’ll gladly make it confirmed...but I have no photos to say without a doubt it exist in a commercially standard format.

Even then, like Stadium Events I would like more than one copy floating out there. I’m also considering moving Stadium Events back down to “Possibly” or “Likely Confirmed” since it’s kind of odd that three popped up in a two year span and none have since popped up.
