  1. I wonder how well it would go on twinkies?
  2. I am surprised that the culprit in this case didn't take the victim's Snickers bars too...... https://news.yahoo.com/police-12-old-robbed-gunpoint-040100678.html
  3. I am working on the 8th book of the Black Magic Outlaw series by Domino Finn - it is about a necromancer so it tends to be more dark than most urban fantasy.
  4. I found the Dresden Files to get less interesting the longer the series went on. There is a widespread (and detrimental) trend in urban fantasy to make the characters become progressively stronger in order to bring in stronger opponents - they often lose what made the main character appealing in the first place. There was a short lived Dresden Files tv series which you might like: Ketchum wrote a sequel to Off Season called The Offspring which is pretty good. There was a movie made from that one which, while not great, is entertaining.
  5. Wonder how long they keep = it would take me awhile to plow through that much.
  6. These are really good - I get them at Safeway: https://www.cretorspopcorn.com/products/four-cheese-mix
  7. I have only asked for a partial refund a few times. One of the cases where I did was for the collectible items from a switch game (no game) - of which there were 4 IIRC for $40 plus shipping. One of them wasn't in there - a plastic key chain. The seller thought his kids had likely taken it. It was the least of the 4 items in terms of desirablilty (for me) so we agreed on a $7.50 refund.
  8. I will have to try those - I like naan bread a lot.
  9. The Colorado law (somewhat disingenuously (IMHO) named the "Make My Day Law") rests on the assumption that anyone breaking into your (occupied) house reasonably poses a threat to the occupant(s) and is an affirmative defense, So someone breaks into my house I have a legal right to use any force (including lethal) to protect myself and others in the house and I generally can't be charged with any crime. The idea of a booby trap is usually to protect unoccupied structures/vehicles so that affirmative defense doesn't not apply.
  10. Two of my faves are: And this goes great with them - I wish they still made the cheddar and bacon flavor:
  11. That seems almost counter productive on a few levels. 1) While it may deter this thief it will not likely deter others. 2) Said thief (from above) might well return later and trash the outside of the vehicle in retaliation. 3) The owner still has to replace the window. 4) The flash bang may have left residue in the cab which now has to be cleaned up. 5) Depending on local laws it might be illegal.* 6) If a thief were to be injured he would likely be able to sue the owner. While I can well understand the desire to get even with these pieces of dog crap that do this stuff I don't think this is really the most effective thing to do - however satisfying it may be upon initial glance. *In Colorado (which has a really strong home affirmative defense law) it is illegal to booby trap your car, business, or home with anything that can seriously injure or kill someone.
  12. I feel so, well, special. I have three followers on reddit - all of whom happen to be young female playboy models who like porn and sex. They also like rich men (i won't tell them I am not rich if you don't). They must be shy as none of them has posted anything...........
  13. You might like this book: https://www.prestonchild.com/books/old-bones/Old-Bones-A-Nora-Kelly-Novel;art589,622
  14. I have that on laserdisc - pretty funny movie IIRC.
  15. I only buy a few of the collector's editions - iust depends on what is in them vs the cost. Of the ones I have gotten these two stand out for me: Thimbleweed Park - This one just screams that it is an homage to the old Infocom games with all of those fun feelies. Return of the Obra Dinn - I really liked the mimicking of the various related historical documents.
  16. And the latest Darwin award goes to: https://www.yahoo.com/news/police-teen-killed-boys-turns-152750564.html
  17. It is possible it was overloaded - but it is more likely that the cargo was improperly loaded/stowed - which is an important consideration for planes and ships.
  18. Given their track record (as it were) I doubt it was overladen with LRG backorders..............
  19. That and catalytic converter thefts have become fairly common in several parts of the country. 'Tis a really sad state of affairs.
  20. Heh - what goes around comes around - although I doubt the hoodlum in this case suffered injuries as severe as what she caused. https://news.yahoo.com/girl-13-busted-mugging-elderly-144400002.html
  21. Hmmm - DHL cargo plane snaps in two after landing at airport:
