Alrighty, got around to doing grilled cheese night hah.

I couldn't find the "feta" I wanted to try, but that's ok, I went with violife cheddar.

The grilled cheese is pretty simple, just added some spinach and peppers to it.  Then had some butternut squash soup on the side.

It has been a looooooooooooooooong time since I've had *any* kind of grilled cheese, vegan or otherwise, so it was fun to at least try.

Did the cheez melt well? Was it good?

Also, I fucking love butternut squash soup!

Not bad, but not great.  I honestly think simplicity of just ham on a grilled cheese is honestly my favorite, but worth a shot as I love curry and grilled cheese.  Overall probably a 6 out of 10.

Edit:  Maybe a different cheese would have done better, just used up the rest of the provolone we had in the fridge.

I just had butter chicken for the first time yesterday. Given it was in microwave dinner form. It was pretty good, I think I need to learn to make my own now.

Yo I haven't had Shake n Bake since I was a kid. Is it any good? I remember LOVING it but man we was po, God knows I didn't have the most eloquent food upbringing.

I hated it as a kid. Probably still hate it. But you Canadians have better food products. So maybe yours was good.

Would you feel better if I told you they've been a local company here for 119 years? How about if I tell you the hospital explosion in The Dark Knight was an old factory of theirs?

That’s some good fracking knowledge right there! Thanks for the trivia facts.

I own thousands of Japanese games and I'm not fluent in Japanese.  I don't recall any sort of requirement that you have to be fluent in a language to appreciate games from other regions and/or their content.  Not to mention people who are more focused on the collecting side.

This. I only speak one language and I own some Japanese games.

Hell yeah. There’s a reason that was the first thing featured in my 5 figure post that BlackVega hates. Looking forward to seeing yours!

I’d have done it tonight. But I don’t eat American cheese or white bread these days. So I’m gonna pick some up at work tomorrow. Of course it’s going to be organic though. Makes it healthier 😂

@SilverspoonGaming how are you doing? I know you said you’re not very experienced in cooking but you are interested. Have you tried anything on this yet? This whole club is just to encourage and show & tell for people who have this interest. And while innovative ideas are fun, no one should worry about operating in a simpler fashion. There is nothing wrong with a basic dish (like shredded cheese on toast then microwaved like I used to do bitd for this thread).

I am hoping you can do something and will share it with us. And I’m sure anybody here will be willing to give advice, answer questions, share info, etc. We are here for each other. That said, if you are not comfortable showing or satisfied with something you made there is nothing wrong with lurking and it’s cool if you just wanna chill too.

Agreed. Tomorrow night I’m gonna do a plain grilled cheese. White bread and American cheese. It’s gonna be amazing!

Well, I will say that on my first trial, I was surprised at how Toxic Crusaders didn't feel hard.  It was just bland.   My current problem is that playing on the Analog Pocket, the d-pad is a bit too easy to "roll" and my key-entry isn't great.

I also found that with Boulder Dash, it really REALL suffered from the d-pad on the Pocket and I could just tell that it was a game that would be far easier on an actual NES.  This is because I feel like with BD, you almost have to hit a rhythm and you have to tap out each step.  If you can't hit it right, you don't get far.  The difference between an NES pad and the Analog Pocket pad made a real diffence.

I'm going to keep working at Toxic Crusaders, but I'm not sure I can do much better with Boulder Dash with my current setup.  It's a very precise game and I don't think I can hit it.  @Gloves, I really would have loved seeing your score on that one.

I’m playing on the nes and BD is just as laggy.
