  1. This is it 100%. I see some dude coming in with a pie in the sky asking price on forums and I will write them off instantly as not even worth my time. I don't mind haggling, but in my experience people with inflated overpriced initial asking prices are rarely going to negotiate easily and they will fight you on every penny you haggle on. Plus when it's finally shipped it'll be in the cheapest beat to crap box or a bubble mailer that's already been reused 3 times, and they'll still probably ask you send payment as F&F to "save on fees".
  2. Oh man I hate that crap. It's funny sometimes though, because I have searches on ebay for certain things, sometimes I will see them pop up under resellers like the guys above. I'll then search them out through the Japanese sites and just buy them myself and the normally much reduced cost.
  3. To the right of Castle of Illusion looks like Space Harrier and then Fantasy Zone.
  4. Square needs to get their head of the blockchain bucket as well, it just seems like a huge time and money sink for them. Their mobile game offerings have also been pretty profitable, but you're right they don't seem to have much spread between cheap mobile and expensive AAA games anymore.
  5. Looks pretty good! I have actually used a product called Novus 123 regularly for refinishing plastic to remove scratches. Takes a steady hand and and some patience but you can get really good results. Even managed to get some LaserDiscs with deeper scratches looking quite nice after I was done.
  6. Finally finished this monster of an episode, yay! Looks like I was right on the edge of when other systems were going to start on my last post. Can agree with a lot of the ratings but I feel like Johnny was right about JP Game Gear, DefaultGen would love these boxes given the comments. Same thickness of a JP GB box, but imagine if it was perfectly square. It's almost the same dimensions of a FDS game but a bit bigger, they are just super cute with pretty good art most of the time and store and display so well. I was also surprised Vita was scored down especially since one of you has a full set. Case is a bit flimsy but I love the size and display on the shelf. The blue is a nice color along the top to make it look consistent, but you get variety with the labels and titles are still big enough to read.
  7. Yeah I'd say everything minus Cosmic Spacehead is maybe worth $75 max. If the GG still kind of operates and only needs caps maybe a bit more. As mentioned above, Cosmic Spacehead is a less common game in the US, and probably in the middle in terms of Codemasters rarity. The drop off between CIB and loose or loose+ manual for rarer games in GG is huge though. There's a lot of these up on ebay loose right now so your competition will be higher to sell it. I'd put cart and manual at maybe $150-$175 in value myself.
  8. Gah, duplicate post accidentally. Anyway here's the roadshow link for the Saturn games that were shown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQKdZhcIVYs&list=PL0gC7G7GmJArcoNpq3Vyn-mxLGlDRgNC-&t=3060s
  9. I saw this the other day too and started a thread about this concept since never knew this thread existed lol
  10. That picture is also a great example of how big the PS5 is, when it goes toe-to-toe with a LaserActive in terms of size you are saying something. If you ever install/play it, Knights of Xentar also has a "patch diskette" which you could run to change version of the game into an unrated version. Pretty sure the files are out there on the internet.
  11. I also agree, I love the look of Odyssey2 box art. It's like the perfect feel of 70s nostalgia and slick consistent visuals when you look at the art. The boxes also aren't too big, my biggest knock is they all want to seem to come apart at the tray folds unless you've got a nice crisp box. Haven't finished the episode yet though lol, I am like halfway through and except for a couple in the beginning it's all been Nintendo so I got burned out and will return to it later. I think I was expecting it to be more of a time released based order.
  12. This is a cool checklist of films. I remember seeing a number of Bakshi stuff my friend recommended over the years, but it looks like there are plenty of other neat ones. I actually wanted Fantastic Plant on Max before I cancelled my subscription and it was a fun and weird experience.
  13. Does it still work if serated from the display?
  14. Just had to loop back here as a Nall (from Lunar) plush and poster came up for sale recently and it ended at a whopping $1425. Craziest price I have seen on it so far (the poster is also in big demand too), but it has also been awhile since one was listed. If you guys do an updated collectibles episode you've got a new thing to talk about besides the Elephant card. https://www.ebay.com/itm/135026805803
  15. Probably a Genesis middle or heavy that I still need, or if the actually have CIB Vita stuff I need I might grab a couple there I would be looking for.
  16. Embracer moving people around, now LRG is a bunch of Hobbitses
  17. Lol the instant I saw this cart label I was reminded of the Mega-CD cover of "The Third World War"
  18. I still consider game collecting a niche collecting hobby compared to others given how long it has been around, so whenever I see something about game collecting on mainstream TV it still seems novel to me. I didn't see a thread for when people have spotted retro game collecting stuff shown on TV or other media, so I figured it would be fun to see if anyone else has come across it and post snippets. Anyway, saw this last night on Antiques Roadshow in the Feedback booth. First time I have seen Saturn games on television in years! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQKdZhcIVYs&list=PL0gC7G7GmJArcoNpq3Vyn-mxLGlDRgNC-&t=3060s
  19. Man that is insane to see. Wonder Library is rare enough but I have never see the US cart pop-up outside of a digitpress thread years and years ago.
  20. Up until 2019 or so I used to do really well at Gamestop for just some of my time. I'd follow the CAG thread about deals and flips for trade ins, and I could literally go from one to the next in a loop buying stuff, trading it in, and coming out with additional funds since there were 8 Gamestops in my nearby area. I turned maybe a $250 initial investment into thousands in trade credit over time, it was nuts that it worked. Plus none of the employees really cared because I would rate well and buy the occasional GPGs to help them out.
  21. My own taxes are "relatively" simple. Mainly W2s, various 1099s, investments, schedule C, and deductions around kids. I don't know how good it is about finding credits, especially on a local/state level, but as I went through it basically asks you a ton of questions about your year and if it pertains to you if you want. And btw, I agree it is ridiculous how complex they make this in general when they are clearly lobbied by interests to keep it too obtuse for general people.
  22. Man, I probably got over 80% of my Wii U collection, and at least half of my Vita collection from Gamestop. Plus plenty of other stuff over the years when they were doing clearance sales. I bought so much Wii junk from them one time too, it was disgusting looking back on it.
