  1. Most kart racers do that. You've beaten 50cc now do 100cc! DKR tries to do something different. I personally didn't mind it and found it to be something different, but I can see how some would find it tedious.
  2. He is definitely smoking something. Never heard that before about this game. Usually it’s the opposite, people saying how smooth it handles. Gloves deflecting these trolls like a pro! 10 for me but I do know some of that is nostalgia and that’s ok. It’s probably a 9 kind of game but growing up with this game it has additional memories. You obviously can’t bring up this game without bringing up MK64 and I do think OptOut did a good summary with his post. DKR does have a fun multiplayer though. I know because my friends and me played it for hours and hours just like MK64. Yes MK64 does probably have the slightly better multiplayer but DKR is still enjoyable multiplayer. Go play MK64 again and see how bad the fog is on that game and the rubber banding is atrocious. The kart handling is also a lot worse than DKR even with the power slide. I find MK64 single player almost unplayable these days. Whereas DKR still feels great and handles well. DKR Adventure mode FTW.
  3. It really depends what type of RPG's you're into. If JRPG's are more your style then BG is going to be a difficult time. If you like DnD and slow exploration/unraveling story then you will love it. BG 1 & 2 are some of the best RPG's ever made, but if you aren't into their style you will struggle with them big time. Also, obviously in some aspects they're dated, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the person. You should play NwN if you haven't, I feel that's the game they really got the perfect blend.
  4. I highly recommend playing the GBA remake. They did a fantastic job with it and added some zero suit Samus sections to the end of the main game.
  5. It’s most likely a service you have has had a data leak but kept it quiet. The hacker has then on sold all the contact details to these other scammers. Try to only give your real number out when absolutely required.
  6. If I choose Shin Megami Tensei do I get all the offshoots like Persona and Devil Summoner? I think a solid RPG series like SMT/Persona would have to be my choice. Dark Souls is another potential series I may choose just for the chance to dedicate so much time to 3 games and try and do the crazy complete conditions like using the DK bongo drums or no death naked run. I think ultimately anything I choose would get so boring and I would grow out of playing games. So maybe the answer is no games and quit the hobby so I have more free time for something else?
  7. The mind is very powerful and can convince us of a lot of things. Maybe just to be safe see a psychologist and a doctor and see what they say. It couldn’t hurt to get their views and then you can tick that off.
  8. It’s the American way my dude. Shoot everyone up first and then ask questions later. Yeah you and I could do this in a normal functioning society but unfortunately as you said, in the US they’re all armed and the mental checks on gun owners is weak at best. This would be too risky of an approach if it were real. My wife’s brother has bi polar and this sounds very similar to the things he describes. He thought someone was following him for months on the bus and taking about him and laughing at him. Then he started getting random people involved by saying that they were assisting with the stalking. He would often hear sounds too or swear that people around him heard it and were getting annoyed too. The next best thing would be to see a mental health doctor. They will be more help than the police. Hope you can get well soon.
  9. I’m calling it on Gloomhaven. This game is unfortunately so plagued with bugs and performance issues that I can’t finish it. If you haven’t heard of Gloomhaven, it is ranked as the #1 board game. I played a few scenarios of the board game but just don’t have the time to commit to it with friends. So when I heard they were converting it to a video game I was interested. The actual rules and strategy of the game is interesting. It is well thought out and an interesting way to do a dungeon crawler. There’s a great and varied character selection and heaps to unlock character and item wise. The problem is that after a few scenarios I found myself just using the exact same strategy and moves to make my way through the dungeons. The scenarios are another point of weakness. They sound interesting but after a few they just all feel like the same objectives but with different flavour text. That brings me to the story. I was around 35 hours in and the story just felt bland. It makes out that all choices matter but honestly it didn’t feel that way when actually playing the game. It isn’t the worst story but it is feels like a very typical fantasy story. Finally, the bugs and performance issues were just too much and I had to call it after I finished a scenario but the level froze and wouldn’t continue. After 35hours I think I’ve seen more than enough of the game. If there were no bugs in this game it would probably be around a 5/10. With the bugs I really can’t give it more than a 2/10.
  10. Splain will put it on the front post when you claim it. It worked really well last year, especially for the longer games.
  11. Nathan Fielder (and Benny Safdie) have done it again! Finished watching The Curse. What a ride! If you're a fan of Nathan Fielder then you will love this show. It's not funny in the ha ha sense but because of the layers, the setups (sometimes over several episodes) and how much it pokes fun at western culture. Emma Stone was also amazing in her role. It's not a show for everyone and definitely not a show that everyone will see the appeal of or get, but if you like Nathan Fielder's work I think you will enjoy it. If Andy Kaufman was still alive today I think he would have loved this show. Now the painful wait for season 2 of The Rehearsal.
  12. Get the rom with all the bonus e-reader levels that were released in Japan. I think about 38 or so levels. They're some of the best Mario stages I've ever played and really challenging.
  13. Starcraft 1 is done. Growing up I was mainly an AoE and C&C guy when it came to RTS games, but I would also hear how great Starcraft was. I've watched some matches in the past but never got around to playing it. It's hard to put into words how amazing this game is. You have three races that all feel and play differently but all have counters and balances against each other. None felt more overly powerful than the other when playing the campaign. The story is very well written and there were so many twists and turns, I really felt so surprised when certain plot points occurred. The missions were all well done and the last mission felt absolutely epic. The only mission I really had any trouble with is Protoss Mission 7. I ended up using the speed run technique to complete that mission. No matter what approach I took, I could never build an army to complete it normally. I can't wait to play Brood War, but I'll have to leave that until next year. 10/10
  14. Haven't played CTR yet, I do hear it's very good though, but I can't imagine it being better than DKR.
  15. Never played it but I just wanted to vote so I can vote for DKR. That debate is going to be intense! DKR is hands down better than MK64 and us DKR fans aren't afraid to let those MK64 losers know about it
  16. Shadow of death is on my list for next year. I have heard Armageddon’s Blade is brutal.
  17. HOMM3 main campaign is done. HOMM3 probably ranks as the game I've spent the most hours playing. I couldn't tell you how many hours of hot seat and the scenarios I played growing up, I think it would be close to 1000 hours (possibly even more). However, even after playing all those hours I never actually finished the main campaign. Overall, it's a pretty solid campaign and improves a lot over 2. There's multiple scenarios and a lot more variety in the types of maps and objectives. You really get a good feel for each team and it forces you to learn a lot of strategies that you can bring to your multiplayer games. I don't know why, but I totally forgot to put this game in my top 10 games when I did my interview with Reed, but it definitely would be in my top 10 games. 10/10
  18. Saw Katatonia live on the weekend and they were amazing. There was a local Melbourne band who opened for them called Suldusk which were really good. Sort of a mixture of folk and black metal that somehow works. Thought I would spread the word for a local band
  19. Some new PC big box games added to the collection. Dune 2000 still sealed and GTA which includes the posters. Also more GBA games. Got a great deal on the Christmas Dual pack of Spyro and Crash. I've been searching about 2 years for that one, so it was great to finally get it and at very cheap price.
  20. Wow I got a shout out on the latest episode! Feeling the love Definitely don't waste your money buying an Australian WoW server . I actually had no idea they existed, always learning something new listening to you guys
  21. Minna de Puyo Puyo for the GBA I'll preface by saying that I'm not very good at Puyo Puyo, even though I do enjoy the game. It is possible that may have some bearing on the score and die hard Puyo Puyo fans might see this game differently. I haven't played a lot of Puyo Puyo games but overall I thought this was a solid entry and offered some enjoyment. The story is pretty much what you would expect for a puzzle game, pointless. The dialogue made no sense to me, even when I switched to English, so I just ended up skipping through all dialogue interactions. There's a few modes in this game but the main adventure mode has you taking on 5 different areas which contain your challengers. Each area has a different rule applied for gameplay which mixes things up so it doesn't get stale. The graphics are nice and bright, as you would expect for a Puyo Puyo game and the soundtrack is pretty catchy. The standout feature of this game is that you can play up to 4 players with one cartridge. I don't have 4 people who would ever want to play this with me. However, if you had a group of hardcore fans I could see how this would be a great feature at the time. Overall, a decent game and a good way to kill some time if you need to fill it with some Puyo Puyo. 7/10
  22. I think you will enjoy it, they did a good job of capturing the feel of the show. You should give it a go.
  23. DKC2 for the GBA done. Not too much to say about this. They stayed pretty true to the SNES version with a few little changes here and there. It’s still the best DKC whether it’s on the SNES or GBA. The SNES version will alway be a 10 but I probably have to knock half a point off for the GBA version due to the image and sound quality not been quite as good.
  24. @TDIRunner I finished Fargo season 5 and I think my thoughts match yours mostly. I loved the series but I don't think it tops 1 and 2 for me. The cast was fantastic though, it took me a while to adjust to Juno Temple putting on an accent but by the second episode I had adjusted. Joe Keeery was almost unrecognisable and did such a great job. Jon Hamm was great as always. Hopefully we see a season 6.
