  1. I’m in the process of relocating. When I finally get into my, yet to be determined, house/game room I want to have a solid idea for the shelving I want to use. And I figure I’m not the only one who has tackled this problem on VGS. What do you all recommend? I collect primarily boxed games from NES - PS3. I had been used the adjustable shelves from Home Depot foundHere. I want to try something else as this shelving gets surprisingly expensive. Look forward to hearing from the community!
  2. Thanks for posting this. It’s good to hear some about the 360 as well. After some consideration I think I am going to collect for the 360/PS3. It’ll probably be the last generation I go all in on, except for maybe the Switch. Do you happen to have any leads on a list for the 360 and/or PS3?
  3. I thought about this. It really comes down to space for me. But when I do I usually go after the fmv games. This is a guilty pleasure for me. I can’t even explain why really, but I find I enjoy those games.
  4. Do you know if the PAL and NTSC lists are similar?
  5. You aren’t kidding about that. I picked up 9 games for an average of $3.45. I didn’t just buy games because they were cheap either. Picked out games I thought I’d like or my family would enjoy.
  6. There’s a few reasons. 1. I enjoy collecting. I like going for full sets. Mainly because I never know what game I’m going to like. Plus It’s in my personality. 2. Relocated for a new job and am living in an apt with limited space. I’ve got the PS3 hooked up, works for streaming. So it’s a good time to look into it. 3. My boy and I had WAY to much fun playing Fight Night Champion over the weekend. He’s younger but it was nice to play something other than Mario with him for a few minutes. On a side note his strategy of jab until you can’t punch anymore and then cover up until you can jab some more worked way better than it should have.
  7. I have looked at them. I can start piecing a list together. Didn’t want to reinvent the wheel.
  8. Has anyone here compiled a list for either of these consoles? I did some looking and haven’t seen anything yet.
  9. I'm having way more fun than I should playing Sushi Strikers: Way of Sushido for the Nintendo Switch. The game is much easier playing with the touch controls than a controller. Can't recommend going that route enough.
  10. Long, long ago I remember my Mom getting this ridiculously oversized package. I want to say it was from Fingerhut but I'm not sure. Anyway she had ordered it some time ago and it had a hodge podge of mostly forgettable junk in it. It was two days before my birthday. I was 6ish. Why she was letting me go through the box in the first place is a mystery, all things considered. Buried at the bottom of all this garbage is Kung-Fu for the NES! My 6ish year old heart leapt for joy! I couldn't believe it. Excitement, adrenaline, a hug to mom, best birthday ever. Except for one thing ... well two, my birthday wasn't for another two days. An eternity. AND the NES was purchased from a different place and hadn't made it to the house yet. I believe she had to go out of town to pick it up, but, my memory on that is fuzzy. And there I was sitting, waiting, staring at Kung-Fu with no way to play it. As a consolation she did let me open it to look at the instructions. This made things worse. Your turn!
  11. One game I can remember in particular was Tecmo Super Bowl. a friend from school had it. He called me daily to tell me about his progress, stats, everything. At the time I was blown away by, well all of it. He did eventually let me borrow it. I eventually picked this game up at a Wal-Mart for 79.99. That is a whole other story, though. Another friend had X-Men and Mortal Kombat for the Sega Genesis. It didn't matter how much I played X-Men, I never could beat it. I was a NES kid, primarily. Although I did get a Sega Master System as a consolation gift when all the NES systems were sold out. A different friend had Super Off-Road. We played the crap out of that game. And a cousin had X Games for the PS1. His dad was the master at lake Tahoe. We would whip him on every stage except that one. He won every time.
  12. Have you thought about doing a contents list, so we’ll know which games came with manuals/extras and which didn’t?
  13. So far I’ve completed one set. Wii U. The last game was Axiom Verge. The second to last was Disney Planes Fire and Rescue. I tried buying this four times unsuccessfully. 1st time: bought Disney Planes thinking I already had F&R. 2nd time: came incomplete and SCRATCHED from GameStop 3rd time GameStop website order, partial order was canceled by the website for some inexplicable reason. 4th time GameStop employee manually ordered my partially canceled. I got planes instead of F&R. 5th time is the charm. eBay. Paid a couple dollars more than I thought it was worth . But the set was finished!
  14. Are you located in Tennessee? I got some Sega Pico games from the Knoxville McKay’s about 6 months ago.
  15. I want to say I had a dedicated room for games in my youth, but that wasn't the case. It was always in a bedroom. Mine or somebody else's. I remember when we moved to a house I got a custom entertainment center for my birthday. Man I was living large then. I played mostly NES and SNES. I know for a fact I had a Sega Master System but i can't remember what happened to it for the life of me. I'm going to look and see if I can find an old picture of this.
  16. I’m talking specifically about video game related cons. I’m located in Panama City, Florida. With that being said I’d like to stay within a days travel. Can you recommend a good con for someone that’s never been? I’d prefer to not go to a huge one for my first one. Is a con a good place to buy games? Are they typically kid friendly? Would there be things for my wife and kids to do if they didn’t want to attend? What’s been your experience at cons? Looking forward to hearing from the community!
  17. I’m working my way through Super Mario Odyssey with my son. He’s 4. We’ve had a lot of fun playing it. I had way to much fun being a tank. He got a little scared of the purple dragon. I had to remind him that we were Mario and no dragon could stop Mario. I’m predicting a rescuing of Princess Peach tomorrow.
  18. @VGCollectaholic ok I didn’t expect to be missing that many variants! That’s great work! I’ll get the list updated sometime after Thanksgiving.
  19. I've compiled a list of Wii U games, and attached a PDF. I believe this list to be complete as far as total games. I wouldn't be surprised if I was missing some variants. If you see anything that needs to be added let me know and I'll update the list. Wii U Master Games List.pdf
  20. That’s roughly what I saw when I looked into it. Mind you it was a cursory look to get an idea of the library size. Roughly 400 more than I expected.
  21. I’m guessing you have an NES? I like both 1 and 2. If you want to play co op then you must play 2. If not either is fine in my opinion. from what I can remember of 1 the wall that beats the crap out of you is aggravating. Well, it was to me anyway. Almost every system from that timeframe has a DD on it. If you’re looking for an excuse to dive into another system that’s a really good entry point.
  22. I've never actually beaten Super C. I used to run through Contra all the time. I had so much fun with that game back in the day. So, to your question my answer is no. Now I really want to play Contra and Super C, tho!
  23. I'm really lucky in that regard. We've had some epic Wii Bowling games.
