  1. Moonlight Sonata is also in the original Resident Evil.
  2. I finished the remaster of Tomb Raider. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results. The game looks absolutely beautiful and my complaints are pretty minor. The biggest issues is that the "classic controls" are not the same as the original game. They are very similar, but not exactly the same, and I have absolutely no idea why. If you don't like the original controls, you have an option for modern controls, and you can also reassign most of the buttons, but for some reason, the exact original controls are not possible, and that makes absolutely no sense to me. The only other issue I found is the minor split second freezes while things load in the middle of the level. This never occurred in the original game, so I don't see why it would occur on newer modern consoles. It's super minor, but still annoying. I'll be moving on to Tomb Raider II remaster tonight.
  3. Why not? It certainly isn't going to get damaged. I enjoy the convenience of having my entire collection ready to play at the push of a button. And that link gave me a chuckle. I remember paying $180 for mine brand new.
  4. Easy 10 for me. My absolute favorite of the series. It took everything from the original and improved on it. I believe 2 is more challenging than 1 in terms of level design, but I agree that 2 is much easier to 100% compared to 1. The graphics still look beautiful today.
  5. I always wanted to watch it, but never got around to it. I've seen so many short clips from the movie, I feel like I've seen at least 40% of the movie.
  6. I enjoyed the show as a kid. I have not rewatched it as an adult, and I'm not sure that I want to. I prefer to remember it as awesome.
  7. @a3quit4s when I said this: I was referring to this: I was just too lazy to go into the detail.
  8. Unfortunately it doesn't, because I know why he was banned.
  9. I didn't even think about trying to find the thread. Since I was going completely off memory, you had me wondering if my account of the story was mostly accurate, so I just went to see if I could find it, and it was actually a little worse then I remember. Hard to believe that was almost 7 years ago. I specifically remember thinking I had about a 50/50 chance of surviving the forum after writing my reply. Obviously, I didn't get banned, probably because I chose to make one reply and leave it at that. I don't regret any of what I said in that thread. Sorry you had to go through a similar experience.
  10. I'm still playing the Tomb Raider Remaster at about 2 levels per evening. However, in addition to that, and I can't really explain why, but I just recently got the itch to pull out my old Guitar Hero and Rock Band controllers and start playing those games again. I forgot how much I enjoyed those games back when it was the big thing. It's funny how huge that market segment was, and then it became super saturated, and overnight completely fell off the radar. The games are still a lot of fun, and fortunately, I purchased a bunch of other games in the series, when they were selling for dirt cheap. Unfortunately, the prices have gone back up, so it's unlikely that I will get any of the other games I'm the missing from the series. Maybe I will go through the PS2 games and beat those for the Beat the PS2 Library thread.
  11. I've heard of that. And by that, I mean that the other night while watching a YouTube video, about every 3 minutes I was forced to watch the exact same 10 second, unskippable ad for X-Men 97. So I've heard of it many, many, many, many times.
  12. I bought it new many years ago when such things were common. It's surprisingly small considering what it holds. It has the ability to to read the band, album and song off the CD if the CD has that capability. Unfortunately, the majority of my CD collection was purchased before that was common, so I had to manually enter the name of each album through the keyboard input. I also have a 200 disc CD player in storage which can piggy back off the 300 disc unit if I wanted to. Sony also made a 400 disc player that played CDs and DVDs with HDMI output. I might have even played SACD, but I can't remember for sure. I almost bought one of those when they were still available new at Best Buy. I kind of wish I had because now the only way to get them is second hand, and they go for a pretty penny. Amazingly, the 400 disc player wasn't much larger than my 300 disc unit.
  13. Never seen it, but I feel like I probably should some day.
  14. I 100% agree. My involvement with that site was very limited, and I was more of a lurker than a poster. Over 5 years, I probably had around 300 posts. I saw lots of newcomers get pushed out, but I was able to tip toe my way around to site and avoid most of the hostility. I actually made a bit of a game with it. I attempted to see how long I could go without triggering anyone. I only made one mistake in my time there. In a thread about Legos of all things, in a lapse of judgement, I mentioned that all of my Lego sets from my childhood had been keep in their original boxes, and I never combined my sets together into one large bin of Legos. Oh boy, was that a mistake. I honestly don't remember who, but one of the long time members really let me know how shitty it was of me to treat my Legos like that. I've said this before, but after that forum imploded from the rogue mod, I specifically remember thinking about how nice it was knowing that nothing like that could ever happen to NintendoAge. Less than 12 months later, I ended up eating those words.
  15. As mentioned in my first post, he announced his exit before any of the hostility.
  16. I've ordered each of the TMNT soundtracks from LRG so far. There is only one more to go, which should be available next month. Each one was available in CD, cassette, and vinyl. I was really torn on which to get. I only picked cassette because I have some old TNMT cassette tapes from my childhood, and I thought they would go well together. I don't really collect cassette tapes, but I have a super small collection, I would be willing to purchase more if I find them cheap, and it's music I enjoy listening to. I have a cassette player as part of my home theater, along with my turntable, and 300 disc CD player. I enjoy listening to music of any format, but cassette tapes certainly make up the smallest amount of my personal music. With that said, I've also heard rumors about cassette tapes making a bit of a comeback. I don't think it will ever reach the level that vinyl did, but maybe it will.
  17. In my example, no one chased him away. He came and went on his own accord in less time that it takes to complete a baseball season.
  18. It not the speed collection alone. It's the in and out in such a short time frame never to be heard from again. Such a person contributes nothing to the community except for increasing prices. As I've mentioned before, I try to allow everyone to collect in their own way and I try to be as open minded as possible. But I still have my limits.
  19. Who knows? But the thing that really turned me off from that "collector," was the mentality of "if I can't own every game in the set, I don't want to own any of it." It's such a toxic mindset and it's the type of new collector that makes you want to hate on all new collectors even if 99% don't deserve the hate.
  20. I never deliberately try to dunk on new collectors, but at the same time, I can understand why some people can get annoyed by it. If you've been collecting long enough, it can become tiresome to see the same first time collector questions over and over again. They obviously don't mean any harm by it, but you can only answer those same questions so many times before you start to lose interest. But in those cases, it's better to just ignore the questions rather than act hostile. One possible exception is new collectors who are actively causing harm to the community. I specifically remember a thread at the old PC Engine forums (before it imploded) about a new collector who had a long introduction explaining how he had started at zero and purchased about 95% of the US TG16 set over the course of about 6 months. He then explained that once he realized that he would never be able to own every game in the set, he immediately decided to sell his collection and wanted to unload it on the forum for top dollar. That forum was already well known for being fairly hostile towards new collectors, but they really went off on this guy. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little entertained by the backlash.
  21. While playing the remastered version of Tomb Raider I, I managed to hit my 1,000th trophy. I'm not a big trophy collector. I've only acquired 4 platinum trophies and I've only collected 100% trophies for about 6 or 7 games. So most of these are just collecting random trophies across multiple games over many years. However, depending on the game, I sometimes really get into the trophy hunting. Horizon Zero Dawn and MudRunner were the only two games I can think of that I went out of my way to collect the obscure and difficult to achieve trophies. The Tomb Raider remastered games have some absolutely insane trophies, so I know I won't get the platinum trophy for any of those games.
  22. Welcome. I'm technically a 5th & 6th gen collector as well, although I mainly focus on PS1.
