  1. What I do to avoid that is I say no trade. Sell only. If trading let them know in the ad that you know the values to your games and expect equal or more value in return. No lowball offers.
  2. I deal on Facebook all the time. It's worth a shot to give it a try. You will however run into some offers from people looking for bargain deals.
  3. It usually takes 3 to 5 days to clear. You will get a notice once it clears or doesn't clear. Let the buyer know the payment must clear before shipment. If they are in a rush and need the item let them know that because they are new all transaction they make right now will be subject to a payment clearance.
  4. It is completely insane what the asking prices for NES stuff on Ebay is right now especially bulk lots. Thousands of dollars for common stuff. Nothing rare in the lots at all. This is what is driving people away.
  5. You could call a food forward location and donate them.
  6. To the people who are asking why not fight the not as describe case with Ebay it does no good. I have seen it all. Ebay will side with the buyer and force the seller to not only accept the return no matter what. My advice to anybody selling on Ebay just know to beware that a buyer can still return an item that states "parts only, As-Is, No Return, Sale is Final. They can return it just because they feel like it and there is nothing anybody can do about it. I sold a working phone to somebody on Ebay. They filed a return. I get it back with no battery in it. I then deducted for the missing battery. Ebay then reversed it and gave the buyer the refund in full. It was a scam to get a free battery. Things happen so be prepared. LAC that story you wrote about the NES is the exact reason why I don't sell NES systems on Ebay. They have a high return rate from people who either fail to read the ad or expect a glitch free system.
  7. People do a lot of things on Ebay. You have to accept it as a non paying bidder and relist it. If the guy bid the item up and is not paying for it then you didn't have him as a buyer at all. One option for you is to relist the item whatever it is as a fixed price ad so you can get your money quicker. It's all part of the business. I have been dealing with my headaches on Ebay for the past few days.
  8. I'm getting an increase of people on Ebay, Craigslist and Facebook where people aren't even reading the ad. They either buy the item or come over thinking one thing but if they were to read the ad it would've been exactly what was described. Then they blame me. Example item is for parts not working. They come over thinking the item is in like new shape. Selling large items I state you need a truck or a van to haul away. They bring a Camry. Selling a NES system with 2 games. Person thought they were getting a bulk load of games with it. Bunch of Genesis games cart only. Person thought they were all complete. It amazes me even with pictures its still not enough.
  9. What sucks is the resellers market is now between $750 to $1500. Ebay should do something about this.
  10. Which the question should be asked here what is a fair private offer discount? 10% off, 20% off?
  11. If a package is considered stolen then the seller is responsible. The seller must have insurance on the package. If the seller has insurance then seller can recoup the money. You made a comment that its the fault of the apartment room's security. Legally No.
  12. If an item is lost or stolen it is the sellers responsibility to have insurance on the item. The USPS is not going to give you your money back. It has to come from the seller. Ebay is the one that makes the call and they made it.
  13. I've had this happen a bunch of times. I look at it as part of the business. Other than someones mind being changed another thing I noticed is that video games and toys attracts a lot of people who really don't know what they are doing and I get messages from mothers or guardians saying the account they have was being misused.
  14. It varies from seller to seller. Ebay wants transactions to go as fast as possible. I for one do things quickly. Get the transaction done and over with.
  15. I talked to somebody about this. Ebay doesn't want items up for sale for months so they push sellers to taking offers. They do the same thing with buyers watching items. As a seller you can now send offers to buyers who are watching your item.
