  1. Ah, so you just put one and one together. I didn't know that about that store. Spanaway is a long ways out lol. I wish they weren't moving, I've had no luck with any Goodwill's around here and that's all that's left. Actually recently one of the Goodwill's up and closed too! So I'm left with even less thrift stores unless I want to travel further out...which is hard for me to do. I think I'm going to give up on thrift stores for game hunting once my favorite store leaves.
  2. So I've been forgetting to post some stuff... Went to HPB two times since my mom got me some gift cards for them for Christmas. Both times had slim pickings...guess because of the holidays. Trip 1: PS3 Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late - $13 (CIB) Trip 2: 3DS Azure Striker Gunvolt Striker Pack - $20 (CIB) Xbox Oddworld Stranger's Wrath - $7 (CIB) Value Village: SNES Total Carnage - $15 I sort of hate myself for buying that SNES game lol. I caved because I wanted an older game...and it was the only one I found that day. So I paid up for it AND I already had it...dummy me didn't check my lists...oh well, I'll just have to frankenstein a CIB together using it as the game. I did get a Nintendo Switch though. I finally broke down and bought it using some cash I got from selling a console and some games, plus some money from my partner from Christmas and some money from my parents. I bought the Let's Go Pikachu console bundle...really cute limited edition bundle actually. Would have rather gotten a Zelda one but since there isn't one...I settled for this. I mean there are skins but not a true official Zelda console. I also grabbed Super Mario Odyssey Starter Pack because I can't resist special editions. So far the Switch is funner then I thought it would be...also smaller then I thought it was, which is a plus side for me. Hasn't blown my socks off yet so...I'll reserve my judgement until I play on it more. I need to break out BOTW...
  3. Oh ho ho, I see you know about it as well. Did we by any chance bump into each other that day when I found Sonic 2? Or did you figure it out some other way lol?
  4. @JamesRobot Was my Secret Santa this year! Thanks man. I love the Nuka Cola lunch box and now I finally have the first Dot Hack game! And now I get to try Alone In The Dark too. I've heard good things about it so I always wanted to try it. Thanks for the toys too and I just LOVE the Christmas Kirby...SO SOFT.
  5. I went to that thrift store again because I'm trying to hit it as many times as possible since they're leaving in the new year... Anyways they had NES and SNES games but of freaking course I was too late. Some lady got to them before me...ugh I was really upset about that. I found one thing but it was like...why freaking bother at this point. Just really ruined the rest of my day for me. Thrift Store: Sonic 2 - $3 (CIB) Bought it because I have it cart only...didn't know that until I checked my phone catalog app...so I bought it to have it CIB...but it's such a meh find. I'm still upset and it was several hours ago...I guess I forgot I always get like this when I see something I want and lose out on it. I tend to dwell on the bad things.
  6. Well I got more tooth issues that need solving and that requires more money then I have so...yeah going to have to sell stuff in the end. Anyways, today was Cash America's holiday sale...and I really wanted to go to it and my favorite thrift store (since they're leaving at the start of 2020). But after having to help dad in the yard...it was 3 PM so...there wasn't much I could do but hope I could still find stuff. I decided to hit the thrift store first because I love that place so much...happy I did, got a lot of not game related items that I love and one item I've been after since I was a kid...however my mom started not feeling great so...had to skip the pawn shops! I still got some games at the thrift store though, just one of the reasons I love this place...you can still sometimes find old games! So it was a sort of...you win some, you lose some day. I can hit pawn shops later I guess...and haggle till I'm blue in the face to get those prices down. Thrift store: NES Arch Rivals - $5 NES Blades Of Steel - $5 NES Faxanadu - $5 SNES Super Star Wars - $5 Gamecube Star Fox Adventures - $3 (CIB) PS2 Final Fantasy X - $3 (CIB) PS2 Final Fantasy X-2 - $3 (CIB) PS2 The Legend Of Spyro: The Eternal Night - $3 (CIB) Nothing too mind blowing (who knows if I would have found something amazing at the pawn shops anyways...) but some decent prices. Never even heard of Arch Rivals so that's something new. I got Faxanadu and Star Fox to sell, as I own those. I'll have to recheck on Faxanadu to make sure. I'm not sure if I own the Star Wars game though so...have to check if I do or not and sell it if I do. The rest I didn't own.
  7. So from what I'm getting off of watching some of these videos of people trying to explain this is...even if you mark your videos, and your whole channel as "not for kids", if you still have content that appeals to kids (like oh idk...VIDEO GAMES), and you drop an F bomb in there...the FTC can STILL fine you. That's scary. I have a lot of videos on my channel that deal with toys/games/junk food/unboxing things and I swear like a sailor. I've taken the liberty of making every damn video private now because I'm scared. I can't afford the fines. Up to $42,000! I mean...what the hell. This is going to ruin people. We need to change this before it goes into effect. Leave a comment here, letting the FTC know this isn't a good idea: https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=FTC-2019-0054-0001 And sign this petition: https://www.change.org/p/youtubers-and-viewers-unite-against-ftc-regulation It might just help save some people.
  8. So I ended up just getting my damn tooth pulled and treated myself to games afterwards...because dear god the pain. Store: NES Defender II - $5 (has rental sticker on side, and sharpie on back) NES Rollerball - $5 (sharpie on back) SNES Smartball - $7.50 N64 Aero Gauge - $6 (label is worn/faded, large scratch in it) Genesis ESWAT: City Under Siege - $5 GB Battletoads - $8 GB The Fidgetts - $6 GBC Quest for Camelot - $5 Xbox Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil - $5 (CIB) 360 Halo 3 ODST - $5 (CIB) PS2 Chaos Legion - $15 (CIB) So pretty good prices. I've gone there before and they've been hit or miss. Some stuff is overpriced, and other things are quite decent. And now I can finally say, I have Battletoads.
  9. 9 for me. I don't really have a favorite artist...to me that would mean I love all their songs and I don't really love all of someones songs...like Queen, I really dislike Fat Bottomed Girls for example.
  10. Well everyone can stop nagging me about what I spend my money on because none of the McDonald's around here had the toys. So I didn't get them. So stop bringing it up.
  11. 3 mil...what the heck is the owner smoking. If I was a multi billionaire...and could make that 3 mil back fairly easily...yeah I'd buy it.
  12. I'm hoping the McDonald's around me still have some stock left over...I wasn't able to get out of the house earlier...these new pills are making me way too tired.
  13. It's actually been having some issues lately...at least people have been saying they have issues with it. Which makes me wonder about it's future.
  14. So while digging through stuff to sell and opening things up to clean, I came across three different cartridges. All are SMB/Duck Hunt and they all start up as such...nothing odd about the game but when I open them they're different. One I can't even open because the screws are different...I took some pictures. The first one seems to be a normal cartridge. The second one is an obvious fake but why fake such a common game? Even back in the day...wasn't this a super easy game to get? The third picture is of the one I can't open. Feels heavier then the other two. Wondering if I just need a flat head to open it...but I don't know if I have any that small! Not sure why the screws are different unless someone opened the game up to do something to it and then replaced the screws for some odd reason. So I guess my question is...why fake SMB/Duck Hunt? And do you think those screws can be gotten out with a tiny flat head?
  15. I'm in, one of my favorite things about this time of year...
  16. Yeah well, you got a peek into what life is like for me and what my mindset is...not fun. I see games as a form of art, like film or novels. It's just an interactive movie...where you're the star. It stimulates your mind a whole lot more then just sitting and watching something. So there's that benefit too.
  17. Wouldn't the plane tickets cost more? Plus no passport. So I'd have to wait for that and...from what I remember it's not a quick thing. It's just silly going to a different country for dental work.
  18. Ok...I guess I'll try selling stuff on here. I just don't know if I'll make enough...my mom said with a crown I'm probably looking at more like $2,500 Hm that's a thought, I know my insurance doesn't cover a root canal but I wonder if they cover crowns?
  19. I can't take out a loan unless I have income that isn't SSI. I'm disabled, no job. No one can touch my money. So no one is going to give me a loan. I'd have to save it up myself. Same with payment plans. No one is going to work with me for that. It's illegal for businesses/companies/people to take my SSI money. I don't fully understand it but that's the gist of it...something about it being disability through the government means it's got some sort of protection on it. Insurance company covers only front teeth, this is the far back molar. I'm fucked. I can't even change insurance. Because Washington Apple Health is the only dental insurance I get as someone with Medicaid. I'm not the only one who's screwed, everyone who has free/low cost health care has the same issue as I do. It's actually been talked about several times, how bad this insurance is. How they cover extractions but won't cover saving the tooth, even though pulling can lead to issues down the road.
  20. I've tried to sell things on Craigslist before (since I refuse to sell on eBay anymore)...they're not flying off the shelves. I actually had a hell of a time getting stuff to sell. And it was decently priced. I'm not going to sell stuff for pennies...since I'd have to save up $1,800...and that's probably without the crown. So yeah...selling stuff isn't the answer here. Unless I really REALLY want to get pennies for my shit...and then I'd just go to a pawn shop I don't mind selling, since I actually have quite a few things to sell. Mainly consoles but I have a bag full of games (GOOD games) to sell as well. But the time that it takes for someone to be interested in stuff, us to work a deal and for me to be holding cash in my hand...I don't think I can manage it in time to save this tooth. As for Facebook...I don't know of any collecting groups around here. I've actually tried looking before and couldn't find much. I did find a general buy/sell page but it was for Seattle and it was filled with ad's.
  21. No seriously. See I have different uh...receptors? in my brain? idk the right term but my doctor explained to me that I process pain differently then most people and drugs effect my brain differently. It's why I can pop Oxy like candy and never have it effect me. Or how I can have 20 shots of Novocaine in my mouth and still feel everything (had that happen last time they took a tooth out...fun). Certain drugs will literally not effect me in any way. Probably why alcohol doesn't feel good to me, it just makes me feel sick and dizzy and that's after one drink of something with a low % of alcohol. Had I been more wild in my teenager years, I might have tried various drugs and found out they don't effect me...but I don't really feel like experimenting.
  22. I can't take a loan out. I'm on disability so no loans or payment plans will work for me...disability money can't be touched by people if I don't pay on time...it's like against the law. So I could just not pay...not saying I would do that but...a possibility. That's their mindset. No antibiotics. They just let me walk out of the office as is. Tylenol doesn't work for me, Advil is the only thing (I use Advil for migraines and have tried Tylenol in the past.). I'm fine with standing in line. However, we don't know for 100% if they'll even take me if I do get in. See they're pretty weird. They only do certain teeth and we're not sure on the root canal. They don't seem willing to talk over the phone about this so...it's a crap shoot. Selling stuff takes time. I doubt I'll raise enough in time to save the tooth. And can you please stop calling me "she". I'd really prefer to be called he from now on. Just drop the S people! Thanks.
  23. Not a parent but when I was a kid I had my own TV and NES. I remember being 5 and playing on my NES. My old TV was dated from Dec 1995, which syncs up with that memory. I personally don't think it hindered me much. I was born with Asperger's so I was always "different"...not that we knew it at the time! So my experience is my own, and probably wouldn't be the same for any kids I have...if I have them. So while I never had friends and was a lonely kid...turned into a lonely adult...I can't place blame on video games. Sure it might have introduced me to something fun that I craved...rather then do my homework but...that's most kids! No kid likes homework after all lol. So I'd probably be fine with giving a kid a NES when they turn 5...but only a NES. And I'd make sure they played age appropriate games (no Contra until they're older!). I don't really believe in giving kids these M rated games and letting them run wild. I also don't think kids should own iPads/cell phones until they're much older. Most people have cell phones so if it was an emergency, I'm sure someone could reach me...I don't think my kid needs to carry a cell phone for that reason. Maybe one of those kid phones where they can only call like a few programmed numbers...but otherwise can't use it for anything else. Do they still have those? I remember they used to... And as much as I hated it and still hate the idea of it...parental controls on TV and computers. I actually wish my parents did it sooner...I got into some...trouble when I was 13 while online. I think it was because they didn't know computers very well (dad doesn't know them at all and mom only a bit) and they trusted me...which was a bad idea. I can only draw on my own experiences and make sure my kid(s)? don't end up making the same mistakes.
  24. NES/SNES/N64 full sets. CIB and loose with manual. Trying to get the N64 complete first since I love that system so much. I'll probably have it complete with a mix of loose+manuals and CIB. And then finish off the next set however I need to (just CIB or not.). I've frankensteined some CIBs before...get the boxes loose from one yard sale, games from another and manuals from another...doesn't happen often but it has happened a few times. I still have some empty boxes...though I think those are for NES games...
