  1. Feral Hogs Steal $22,000 Worth of Cocaine From Drug-Trafficking Ring https://www.newsweek.com/italy-drug-bust-wild-boar-hidden-cocaine-destroyed-smuggling-operation-1471472
  2. I thought about that, but you're giving Hollywood execs way too much credit -- they're not that smart! Although if the Sonic movie is a big success, maybe they'll purposely start releasing "bad" trailers on purpose.
  3. I don't know if you could walk into a Best Buy and find any LRG games. I would suspect the answer is no. And again, when it comes to open orders, LRG does not specify a limitation number so I don't see it as artificially inflating anything. You can order the games of the Best Buy website, and again, they are significantly less expensive than on ebay. I'll probably pick up Celeste for the Switch since I did not order it when it was for sale on LRG.
  4. Yeah... I guess it's a total "shit business model" when you know, you try to make gamers happy AND make money??? Seriously, what exactly do you expect? As for selling at Best Buy, they only sell the open-order games not the collector's/limited editions. The prices on Best Buy are the same price is on the LRG website, and certainly lower than prices you will find on ebay. Don't see anything wrong with what they are doing.
  5. Some of my recent research has been on the origins of life, and you know, it's all quite amazing and fascinating! But, as others have pointed out, once you're dead that will be it. Once your heart stops there is some brain activity, but no oxygen so you won't "feel" anything. Also, and I'm speaking from a science perspective, NO reincarnation or anything like that. Your molecules will get recycled, but your consciousness will be gone. It will feel, like before you were born, which is to say nothing. Is that good or bad? Well, don't know. Death is frightening, because there's nothing afterwards for us to experience. But, no pain either. Make a good contribution to the world in some way, enjoy life, play games, rescue cats - my attitude
  6. Classy! I do hope iam8bit publishes more rare or unreleased NES games. Would be pretty great if they included a soundtrack CD too
  7. That looks sweet. Considering the price of the original Metal Storm, I think with all the goodies the new release is going to be pretty fab. Now, it wasn't actually a LRG release, although I believe they sold an exclusive version of the LE. By the way, will you open your CE?
  8. I really don't see anything shady here. Shady would be when they're trying to hide something, and as far as I know LRG has always been 100% forthcoming about what they are selling. As for "bad customer service" - well I've had a few things arrive damaged and LRG has always replaced them. Granted, sometimes it takes time and sometimes they are not great about communicating how long it will take, but they do follow through. I guess we live in an age where we think everything should be exactly like a multi-billion dollar enterprise such as amazon, which of course can instantly replace/refund you on a whim. I don't know how much LRG has in terms of assets, but I would be surprised if they are worth more than a few million dollars, and according to Wikipedia their number of employees grew from 2 in 2016 to 10 in 2017, so what is it now? 30 or so? Patience is not a virtue for today's age I think As for letting people purchase supply, this is a touchy issue. Again, they are a small business, they can't afford to keep things on shelves. Are they "happy" when people purchase their games and the value goes up? I would hope so! I sure would be. Certainly better than when the game becomes worthless. Also, people "artificially" inflate the prices on everything. Nintendo is notorious for this! At least LRG tells you a game is coming out, and how many copies will be available. When Nintendo announces something like Zelda Dreamer Edition by the time you hear of it it's sold out everywhere. So, I would argue it's simply people that drive up the price of games - or anything remotely collectible. All in all, I have to respectfully disagree with just about everything you said. I can't say whether they feel they are doing something "righteous", but I certainly appreciate what LRG does and I will keep supporting them. Also, yes, honestly I do feel grateful for them and other small publishers that release physical copies of games that would otherwise only be available digitally. As LRG says "Physical Forever" and I agree!
  9. I totally understand overtime compensation, but this is batshit crazy and I'm willing to bet the house rotten like gangrene on a hot summer's day... https://money.yahoo.com/wildfires-wild-pay-los-angeles-135815241.html
  10. We're so close to the enamel pins! Seriously, this looks like the best homebrew game in a long time! Five days left... and I wonder what's next? Perhaps, a Metroidvania style game (do it
  11. Metroid Prime (complete mint) + Prime 2 (new) + Soundtrack (and lots more for trade/sale)
  12. Looking for LRG Celeste if anyone has a copy for sale or trade.
  13. I don't see any other way they could stay in business. A game like Zelda, Super Mario Bros. etc. will sell millions. Most if not all of the LRG are available in digital format, and how many people want physical copies? I do like their current business model, which for the most part is produce an open order regular edition, and for those that want all kinds of extra "goodies", they release collector's editions. I think this is a win-win situation.
  14. Somewhere out there I'm sure a few people have complete sets. For most of us, I would recommend purchase what you will enjoy playing! Also, for those that remember the very start of LRG, whenever they had a new release, it was a bloodbath getting it. Glad they adopted the model they are using now.
  15. Looks really great! If you're looking for a story, you can always contact people on here to help or pitch ideas. Of course, I would also recommend reading anything from Poe, Lovecraft, Shirley Jackson, etc

  17. Is this comedy, or tragedy? I would say both...
  18. Also my favorite Fire Emblem music too!
  19. It does sound like 750 messages is the maximum amount. Honestly, not sure that's any reason to get upset.

    RPG Thread

Been playing Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition on the Switch. Yeah, it shows some age, but I forgot how amazing are the characters and story... well, truth be told you have to play through the entire saga (BG II and Throne) to get the full epic story, and it really is epic.
  21. Truth! and if you study astronomy, you find out that life on Earth will eventually ALL die, the Earth and Sun will eventually end, and in fact, there appears to more or less be an expiration date on the Universe... yeah, we don't know for certain about the latter. But, it gives you a perspective. Some people find it unsettling, but as for myself, makes me appreciate being here even more so
  22. I did not! I searched for "How old are you" and couldn't find a similar thread - did not search for "Ages" Thanks, probably should close this thread. Although a few people have answered it...
