  1. Seems like a no brainer. The GBA titles have subheadings. So both are on the same cart. FF makes no mention of it on any title. Oh, also with FF you miss an entire game in between.
  2. They had 1 copy of each of these. Time to dive in... (Also, what the hell is up with retro game shop owners acting like you being in their store is a hassle? Seems like a recurring theme...) Anyways, on to the games! Edit: not the USA-1 copy, since it wasn't available. So wish me luck...
  3. No Mercy also seems to be getting the higher price points on ebay, so that may reflect overall popularity. I'm about to head out to some locals and see what I can find.
  4. Maybe I'll snag this for PS1 as well. Doesn't hurt to diversify the portfolio.
  5. Awesome. It sounds like No Mercy is a great starting point, and thanks for the heads up on getting a -1 copy. I'll probably start there, and grab one of the WCW titles, too. Also, it's great that they have a history of wrestling games available on Amazon. Most of my recent interest in these games (aside from the strong nostalgia) is tied to the A&E docuseries, Legends and Rivals. Watching wrestling, for me, in the 90s went hand and hand with the N64 and playing these games with my friends. I'm stoked to play them again.
  6. This is where I have varying memories. I always loved NWO and the Wolf Pack, specifically, so I kind of thought that might've been the one, but I really remember playing with Undertaker and Kane, so the WCW ones don't make sense. No Mercy definitely rings some bells. I guess I'll have to get both!
  7. As a kid I remember playing a couple different ones, but can't, for the life of me, remember my favorite... but I know I did have a favorite. Anyways, I'm not so much worried about that, I just want to know which N64 wrestling game you think is the best, because I'm going to buy one to start and see if I can find the one I liked so much as a kid. So which one should I buy first? (There are way more than I remember...)
  8. I love this thread. Informative and combative... A very fun read!
  9. Might be a psychological thing, and I admit I'm guilty of this if I really reflect... Cognitive dissonance is doing an action contrary to your own beliefs, and using a grading company to grade a bunch of games, then finding out they are shady but continuing to use the service might be an example. It's engraining yourself in something because you don't want to be wrong about past decisions... Same reason people debate losing viewpoints. Anyways, I know I'm guilty of this myself, but dammit, it's hard to get away from
  10. Okay. That might've been during the Cali transition. I can't remember. Still, not great for a company that's had its fair share of issues. Maybe I'll try VGA if I submit again
  11. I've only graded about 10 games with WATA, and I've had good experiences mostly, except for a reholder when their old blisters sucked. That being said, if I were grading something for the first time, something like this would send me elsewhere. I don't know when this game was graded, and I realize that shouldn't matter, but with all the retooling WATA has done over the last few years, I feel like it does. Ultimately, if you screw up as a company, you should always own your shit, and it shouldn't take people calling you out to do so.
  12. WATA had a problem like that with their blisters for a while. I wonder if CGC will have to correct this or if it's just a one-off.
  13. Not a huge take, by any means, but cost 0 dollars! My mother-in-law said she found some old games for me, and of course I was immediately interested. She brought out a box with a SNES console, two controllers, and these games. Only problem was, they smelled like smoke, so I buried em in baking soda for two days and now they're good as new. Can't beat free! (also checked off 2 more sports titles I needed in my quest)
  14. In my home city of Milwaukee, I feel like it's mandatory I make the trip. Never been, but it looks like a great time.
  15. Sequel to BotW, prequel to Skyward Sword... How?? Time loop! In a lot of the trailers it looks like shit is going up into the sky. Skyward Sword was the first in chronology and introduced Demise. He was then buried under Hyrule and he inhabits Ganon throughout series as his evil subservient. Now , Hyrule lifts up, releases Demise and he ends up being the main baddy, while the Triforce Goddesses finally (and accurately) choose Ganondorf as the bearer of Triforce of Power. This time Demise doesn't need Ganon to do his dirty work, so Ganondorf and Zelda and Link team up and beat ass. The hand you see reaching for Zelda's is Ganondorfs and the voice you hear in the background is Demise... Eh?.... Ehhhh???
  16. Off topic, but I think my friend has an early version where the auto-blue shell on top of the mountain in Koopa Beach is invincible when you hold it behind you lol
  17. Very interesting. I have another game just like this and I'm thinking of opening it up to explore. I vaguely remember them selling used/like new, but I can't remember if that was a GameStop thing or an online thing, and I also can't remember if they were sealed the same way as new games. But that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the input!
