  1. the label design does leave a lot of empty space. i think that's more a side effect of the new notation strategy which aims to add much fewer details, but more meaningful details. that said, if the new case is better in meaningful ways then i'll be happy. the label isn't overbearing like in cgc's case (who TF thought a giantblue label was a good idea)
  2. A house of cards in hindsight is still a house of cards lol
  3. I’m always ready for a good certified.
  4. Couple recent subs now that CIB grading isn’t super expensive. Gold and Silver still in post grading but will post when they’re back.
  5. you're probably more or less capped at A+ with the sticker. with creasing and other impressions on the box, you're probably looking at 8.0-8.5 territory.
  6. So uh, i never came back to share what happened with my modern subs to CGC. DS and 3DS games are very loose in the holder. both the blister is loose, and game inside the blister is loose. When I reached out to CGC to let them know so they could fix the dang thing for future customers (I wasn't even asking for a refund or reholder, because I knew the outcome would have been the same), they told me "the cases aren't meant to be shaken." no word on whether they're telling anyone about the issue. Just "don't shake the game." i mean, i'm not sure how else i was going to figure out the games are loose, but cool. anyway, if you have DS/3DS, don't send them to CGC. send to Wata or VGA. who knows if CGC will ever fix their holder. anywhere, here are the games i ended up grading with this issue, and will likely bust out in the near future and submit somewhere else lmao Metroid Samus Returns 9.9 A++ (pack-in) Metroid Samus Returns 9.8 A++ (pack-in) Mega Man Battle network Double Team DS 9.8 A++ Super mario 64 DS 9.6 A
  7. These two things couldn’t be further apart in the financial sector
  8. Well ”good” news is wata can’t grade it! Vga will just need to pick up the slack and give it a mistake 90+!
  9. Recently added the last handheld KH game I was missing forgot to include 3D but that one isn’t graded yet
  10. yes, i would very much like to pump my games. you're ruining the pump and it's not cool. how does that make you feel, that you're ruining the pump
  11. I should clarify, it's just CIB_Wholesale complaining. lol
  12. and just like that, we're back to complaining about wata's origins again. good chat.
  13. Yeah they were let go when collectors bought out wata and the office officially moved. No idea why honestly, but the folks running that show now are great. Dan of modern database leads auth and Andrew (pre acquisition grader) leads grading. From what I can tell the grading is more consistent and having an authentication / research department means fewer mistakes. I’m trying to see the glass half full I suppose - I like the changes they’re making, including the new case design (assuming it addresses common criticisms of the current case), and if they can keep the momentum going I think they can regain some trust.
  14. This is really important. I'm in the "minority" of grading hobbyists who genuinely try to collect and while I like Wata in some areas, there's no reason to ignore the bad parts. How else do these companies improve if they aren't hearing our feedback? That's different vs speculators obviously who likely prefer silencing the negativity to boost profits. For instance, the last year or so of events has really shown me that there still isn't a "great" grading house for games yet. Wata has made strides to improve, and it's obvious, but there are still some sore spots. VGA still has dogpoop turnarounds, and CGC is too new and has had allegations of authenticating and doubling + tripling down on reseals. Idk, I just want them to be better, and instances like the OPs ebay listing are proof of where Wata came from, and knowing who is there now (e.g. Andrew + Dan leading the auth/grading charge), I feel better, but not fully satisfied.
  15. I have only one other sub out for them and it’s my last. Agree it’s a little awkward
  16. Unopened and solidly near mint. GBA is pretty tough these days
  17. that said, the number of broken consoles from dkoldies is alarming. i wouldn't be surprised if they're hit with a class action. if they're actually misleading customers then yeah i think they're a sore spot on the community and should be pursued legally.
