  1. Fixed the OP Here's the fixed link: https://www.watagames.com/populations/index.html
  2. yeah sounds about right, they made another announcement shortly later in the summer. still nothing. i did notice in the most recent Hakes auction, since hakes and cga are owned by the same holding company, Hakes had access to pop data. some items had titles including "none graded higher." loooool
  3. I thought it was one year since their last announcement? Or do you mean they’ve made two consecutive announcements and never released? I mean I’m not surprised either way, just clarifying lol
  4. I’m cautiously optimistic bc people are likely slowing down now that the market isn’t “free tendies” now.
  5. guarantee he has way more than 1.5 mil to be dropping cash like that considering he founded reddit
  6. its a amazing how many expensive things a wealthy person buys. There’s quite a few of them.
  7. i have a problem and it is called mega man.
  8. i didn't think about this but it's 100% true. imagine being able to get 30 DVD size games back instead of just 12 per big shipping box. folks in the space selling big quantities (like yourself!) will benefit massively, not just wata.
  9. I was referring to the linked thread being painful to read. And I agree; if there are genuine variants, it should be corrected!
  10. kenneth doesn't grade at wata these days. stopped at the end of april i believe. so it's more likely the current staff are going off whatever knowledgebase existed after he left. also, this was painful to read lol
  11. I never claimed pat is running a newspaper or that he’s a journalist or that he should have known to check Greg’s discord. im just saying someone with Pats audience, you’d think they’d have due diligence in getting their facts right, it’s pretty basic stuff. like don’t get me wrong: pat has every right to rip in wata for grading ROM hacks. But I expect better of community mouthpieces.
  12. What’s funny about this is pat could have messaged wata and asked if they still grade rom hacks and reproductions. good news: they don’t! They stopped a bit before Collectors Universe bought them out apparently. Confirmed by watas own head of authentication this year in GetTheGregGames’ discord. people already pointed this out to Pat and he still hasn’t corrected the title. Even Seth A. pointed it out. side note: I agree wata really should have never bothered grading unofficial games (whatever that is defined as). Rom hacks are obviously unofficial and IP infringement. Home brews I think are stair game if someone wanted to grade those (no opinion otherwise).
  13. The cases (CGC & Wata) will grow on us, I'm sure. I'll be interested in how they change the inner blister, if at all. That thing has been shown to be somewhat tight on certain types of games (Game Boy). But slim fit and horizontal games displaying correctly are both long overdue. Glad we got it. :)
  14. Some more mega man you said? Just got this 9.8 of bn1 and this golden sun that I nabbed, probably the single best eBay-to-grade ever haha. It was a bit pricey compared to other comps and it was risky, but the box was insanely nice. Seal had some scuffs though so A+ was inevitable.
  15. Hey now I legit love my games and am happy to collect them independently of their long term value. I’m also a condition snob and don’t you forget it.
  16. sealed prices are made up so who the fuck knows hahaha
  17. That's not how it works tho - you made the claim, so you should provide the evidence. Burden of proof etc Also, I'm not sure how well known it's yet but there's a good amount of confidence the person who bought the 1.5m Mario was the cofounder of Reddit. lol
  18. "most likely laundering," with what evidence? lol i'm not even defending HA but this is some low-effort conspiracy nonsense. HA is private.
  19. You just described the sealed/graded collecting community as a whole. The only difference is HA gets more eyes. Slightly larger pinhole than the already pretty small pinhole.
  20. Well, the statemetn I'm replying to wasn't "these games came up again and sold for less", it was, "I am unaware of any recent sales for 100k plus." I'm just providing somewhat recent sources (even discounting anything from 3+ months ago). Granted, 99.99% of games are no longer higher than 100k, period, so it's very clear that the hype market of 2021 is dead. I mean, heck, Pokemon red in VGA 90 Uncirculated (rattata variant, but still) went 15k *recently*. TL;DR I don't disagree entirely with you either.
